Euro PSN gets massive update, PS Plus members get more freebies

Just hours after the PlayStation Network Store went back online, Sony took to its European PlayStation blog to detail both what's coming in the first major update, as well as what European PS Plus subscribers will be receiving in the coming weeks. Beyond the already detailed "Welcome Back" content, SCEE says an extra 10 days will be added to the 60 already included in the Plus "Welcome Back" package, "due to the Store coming back a little later that we hoped."

Additionally, April's Plus content and deals are being extended for two extra weeks, meaning that if you missed a chance to download Premiere Manager at 50 percent off, there's still time! June's offers have yet to be revealed, but the post does promise Plus users a free copy of Burnout Paradise as part of the month's content offerings.

The "Spring Offers" deal for all PSN users has also been extended to June 8, a sale which was unavailable during the majority of its duration as a result of the month-long PSN outage. All PSN users can also snag a free copy of FIFA 11 Ultimate Team, a soccer management game from EA, for the time being.

And finally, the EU PlayStation Store has also received a massive update, the likes of which we've never seen before. Final Fantasy VI is totally on there, as is a mess of new Hyperdimension Neptunia content and ... well, you know what? We're going to simply point you to it rather than try to wade the flood.

I tried downloading streets of rage 2 PSN+ for free but the system was gonna charge me $6.50

I've tried randomly to get on, but I still get errors after the store tries to load for a long time. I assume it's just getting slammed today.

Guess I'll try in the evening or tomorrow.

You know, what with everyone demanding the store back online ASAP.

Since the network is more 'stable' now. How about SONY start with the full downloadable games. I know some may say thats a bad idea to buy a game at full price and not be able to sell it. So how about selling the DLG at $40. But how can the poor stores compete? Alright, make the games available 3 months after they hit retail.

I mean sharing a PS3 with 4 other people that have different tastes makes for an abused drive.

Start with Super Street Fighter 4 AE, launch in August for $40 and I'll buy on day one.

@Trilancer They would need to make the downloads faster.. Infamous will take an hour per gig at this rate on 10 meg net.. Tales of Vesperia on 360 was about 90 minutes (about 6 gig)

If its a one time thing then there shouldnt be a problem, downloading would take the sme amount of time as a trip and back to the store. Unless its a kojima game.

Interesting... I can´t find MK2 in the US playstation store anymore... I was planning to get it with the plus discount. Is it still up at the european store?

I just downloaded the No More Heroes demo and it kicked ass. I also noticed that there's DLC for the game on the store. Does that mean that the game is out in Europe?

can anyone clear this up for me please,
since where all getting 1month free PSN+ in the coming days, does that mean we can download Burnout Paradise and Streets of rage2 for free ? or is that for PSN+ members before april 21st ?? cause if all PSN+ members including the free one month people are getn into Uncharted 3 beta, doesnt that mean we can get all free stuff this month? am i confusing myself now or just hoping for more free stuff :) thanks

@The2ndofThe7th the free games through PS+ are only yours while the free sub lasts (so burnout & SoR2 etc)

you have to find the free month in the Welcome Back tab

I know its been ripped apart by gamers and reviewers but im impatiently waiting for Daggerdale to release on PSN,would be nice to hear something about when to expect store updates in the US.

I saw Burnout Paradise on there for free but since the Welcome Back program isn't in effect yet, I can't download it. It just asks me to join Plus. I will once my 30 days is up and no sooner.

Parasite Eve 2 is up there as well, I've been waiting for that one since I finished the last one and loved it. Too bad I'm a NA PSNer, hopefully in the next update they'll throw it up there though!
