Looks pretty awesome, no dialogue though? I haven't played SSX avidly since Tricky so I hope it goes back to basics.

Game definitely reminds me of the last course from the first game and that was one of my personal favorites.

@kojo87 That's why I bought SSX 3 off Amazon. Tricky doesn't work on a 360 :(

I want to have high hopes for this. But I know that SSX On Tour was the best game they'll ever make. Oh well, at least they've got a good amount of time to get this game looking great.

@JinZX1 On Tour was a low point for the series. It was a blind purchase for me, got it just for the SSX name alone. It was disappointing to say the least.

I'm probably the only other person who'll agree with you, I'm a customisation nut and that game really satisfied me in that department.

SSX is looking good, back to it's roots. I haven't played an SSX game since the 2nd game. All the rest looked like junk.

Yeah! I want Joystiq to spend tons of time to keep me on top of all of the goings on the in the gaming world, and I want them to do it without making any money!

@Kirkpad What's with all the ad complainers on this site? What do you never watch television because of the commercials? Do you leave the movie theatre if they show a commercial before the movie? You would think people would be used to them by now... they are everywhere. If you don't want ads go be Amish or something.

can't wait for this :D

and LOL@all the people who were worried/crying at the reveal trailer about it being too different.

this looks like the same old awesome SSX formula with current gen graphics :D

*crosses finger for open-world/free roaming like SSX3* but doubt it.

Step in the right direction, but they'll have to still try harder to get my $60.

This seems to be following the pattern of the last few SSX games: it's still got crazy tricks, but the courses are way too realistic and barren. Granted, we don't have much to go on yet, but I really miss the nighttime courses from Tricky, and the super insane, ridiculous ones too (Tokyo Megaplex, for instance).

The animations are looking good, but the art still looks a bit *too* realistic... SSX is about hyperbole, after all. At least the tricks are suitably crazy, though.

I played the hell out of SSX3 as my boy Mac. Tricky was awesome but SSX3 was where it's at. Can't wait for the new one.

Why can't someone make a snowboard sim? Love SSX and the arcadey style but really, a sim would be great

@OnToGloryReturns

Did you play Stoked? It wasn't perfect, and focused mostly on back country boarding, but had a more realistic feel to it. I found its more peaceful, open mountain exploration to be a great compliment to the over the top lunacy of SSX.

I really, really hope this is good. I'd definitely buy a good SSX game. Skipped the last two... but I loved SSX3 and Tricky.

I'm just dreaming out loud, but this would be a good time to rerelease SSX3 on XBLA and PSN...

What is with people jumping to conclusions with this game? First, the footage is pre-alpha and obviously don't have the meticulous detail of the final game yet.

Second, SSX3, which I feel was the high point of the series so far, had fearsome, more realistic peaks that gave way to crazy parks near the bottom. The game doesn't have to consist entirely of Tokyo Megaparks to be entertaining.

I've been waiting for this game for a long time (and it seems many others have as well) but its irritating to see people lash out at what they are doing at such an early stage. Meanwhile we start getting real gameplay and it is becoming apparent that the developers have been doing a great job because the actual snowboarding looks exactly like what an SSX game is about. The snowboarding fundamentals are the gameplay elements that they would complete first because in the end that is what makes the game fun.

The fact that they seem to be getting that basic SSX feel exactly right leads me to believe that they can do the same with the look of the game. People just have to be more patient and we'll eventually get footage of the crazier SSX locations, no need for all of these SSX doomsday theories.
