The Batarang controllers you deserve, but not the ones you need

Where does he get those wonderful toys? From any retailer that carries Power A controllers, this fall. The peripheral manufacturer has announced a Batman: Arkham City-themed "Batarang" controller for both Xbox 360 and PS3, which allows you to pretend you're playing games on the specialized Bat-style game console you know Batman keeps in the cave.

Both versions feature LED accents, that can light up in seven different colors. The PS3 version is wireless (with a receiver), with an internal rechargeable battery and motion sensors, and reversed analog stick placement. The Xbox version is wired, but comes with a 10-foot-long cable that may or may not allow the device to be used as a grappling hook.

I notice that the PS3 controller has the D-pad and left stick set up like a 360 controller. Neato.

At least make the lights yellow so it looks like something from Batman. I mean, i get the colors coordinating with the system colors, but it kind of ruins the theme of the controller... which is Batman.

Also, the thumbsticks should have nipples in the middle, ya know, for more grip.

I liked that layout the way the N64 controller had it, MS raped that design.
Even the GC controller was more comfortable.

Nice, but the left analog stick and D-Pad are in the wrong spots.

I understand people who want something they are used to but I never understand the logic that left stick is in the wrong place on a PS3 controller. Wouldn't that make the right stick in the wrong place on the Xbox controller?

Wouldn't have been a lot easier to just release the original PS3 controller design, throw a Bat symbol on there, and call it a day?

May have to pick this up for the PS3 only because I prefer the 360 controller layout.

Ditto, and I've been waiting for a controller with that layout (including convex triggers, thank you) AND motion control built in. For some reason, a majority of controller manufacturers neglect this feature, despite some games requiring it.

I use little snap on things to make the PS3 triggers convex. They stay on pretty well but Sony really should make the next controller convex because my hands just slip off the trigger.

The controller looks cheap unfortunately or I would be interested. It looks like one of those plug into your TV games.

Oh man those looks extremely bad. Seriously, they look cheap. I would go for one of the wired Tron controllers before I go for these.

At $50, it's far from cheap. If it's cheaply made, it's a ripoff at that price.

But I'm so happy that Microsoft won't allow wireless controllers from 3rd parties. I hate batteries when not absolutely necessary. I have my eye on a Razer Onza.

Microsoft still hasn't convinced Logitech that third party licensing of their wireless protocols is a good thing huh?

Probably my favorite title ever.
