Tropico 4 hollas back with b-a-n-a-n-a republic trailer

Tropico 4's E3 trailer has finally washed up on our shores in a rubber raft after escaping El Presidente's island nation. Check out shots of the game that's looking an awful lot like Tropico 3.75 (Absolute Power being 3.5).

I am excited for this!
The Xbox really needs more games like this. Still hoping for Theme Park and Theme Hospital to return.

Absolutely LOVED Tropico 3 on 360. Tropico 4 will be a day 1 purchase if it launches at 39.99$ like 3 did on 360.

And NOW I got that Gwen Stefani song stuck in my head.
Anyway, I do love Tropico 3, so I know I'll cave in and get Tropico 4.

I picked up Tropico 3 for the PC a couple of months after it launched for around $29.99 at a Walmart. Worth every penny and at that price point it felt like I was stealing the game. If you have not played Tropico yet I would recomend it.

Personally, I find it disappointing to see how this game looks almost exactly like the previous Tropico 3. The similarity makes it seem more like an expansion than anything else. I think I'll be content with waiting until Tropico 4 is super cheap before picking it up.

@Zamzoph It doesn't disappoint me, Tropico 3 was one of the best city building games I've ever played. More is good.

@Zamzoph Yeah same here. I bought Tropico 3 on the cheap and it was my surprise game of the year. Loved it!
That said I played it into the ground and was pretty well over it by the end. This game looks almost identical so it's hard to muster up too much enthusiasm.

Never heard of this series, but it looks like a refined, more personal version of Sim City.

Don't know if I like natural disasters in city Sims but the interface changes look like they make up for it.

@MrAlex click a box to turn it off on every city sim ever built.

How do you fit ten Cubans in phone booth?
Tell them that it's seaworthy. Hurr hurr.
Ahem, I should really get around to trying Tropico 3 already.

I thought they never fixed the bug from Tropico 3 where once you reached a certain population, your saved game doesn't load. Can anyone confirm?

Kudos for the Gwen reference. Gwen has been hot since No Doubt started and I can't imagine that is going to change anytime soon.

I grew up in Panama during Noriega's time and loved SimCity. But, this game is awesome, trust me when I say that even when you think they are exaggerating, they really aren't. Even though Juanito wouldn't make it for so long.
I wish however that it wasn't always on an island as I get too much of a Cuban feeling. It will be nice if they had a small nation bordering other Banana republics in the main land. You would have to deal with colombian guerrila or go to war with other nations over soccer games. Also, conflicts over google maps :p
