Are the proceeds for this at least going to the Make a Wish foundation? If so, I feel bad about downloading it for free...

I mean, it didn't stop me, it's downloading right now. But I feel bad...

@Hoops You can go donate to the Make a Wish foundation if you feel that bad.

It's better that way, anyway. If you donate, they get your whole donation. If they charged for the game, Apple would take a 30% cut. Kinda puts a damper on charity games.

@ORTHROK Yeah, make fun of the nine year old with cancer because you don't like the game that you've NEVER PLAYED.

You're a terrible person.

I don't think he's criticising the game, just the choice of doing yet another tower defence game... which is sort of a good point.
If I had an iOS device I'd give it a burl.

@ORTHROK People have been so offended about your comment that they themselves have said much much worse in response to it.

I wonder what they would think if you were also a kid with a terminal disease.

If Hitler was a 9 year old with cancer, he would be fully forgiven.

When I was 9, I didn't even want to start a band to play Sum 41; because I was even younger than that and was listening to Avril Lavigne on cassette, being massively self-centred and annoying the shit out of my parents with constant questions. This kid got a Popcap game released to the masses for free? It's about the best thing you can do unless you're some kind of child prodigy.

You sir are a jackass. Please enlighten us as to the types of amazingly unique games you would create given the same opportunity......

Also this game is alot of fun and already has a ton of downloads and rave reviews from the app store.

@aronious Just so long as the rave reviews are genuine and not a similar symptom to that of IDS

Are you seriously trolling a post about a kid with cancer? You must be a true winner.

If some kid made a wish with the Make-a-Wish foundation for a game that was confirmed to not be localized, would the publisher localize it?

I played the game and love it! It get's pretty frantic on the 2nd difficulty, find myself clicking on all the different tracks constantly to keep the flow. It's tower defense but reminds me more of like a tug-of-war fight! good job kid!

I was one of the Make-A-Wish volunteers that helped set this wish up and thought I'd address some of the comments. First off, it takes a LOT of time and effort to develop a game. Pop Cap was incredibly generous to give several employees' time towards this project, and time and resource constraints were the main reason it was released on iOS and not Android.

As for the game, it's awesome, and even more so because it was designed by a 9-year old (now 10 year-old). He originally had designed an incredible Halo-like game that he re-worked to fit into the time budget and specialties of an amazing Pop Cap team.

I am also pretty sure anybody making comments that the game is too simplistic or generic would not be able to produce anything near the quality or depth that Owain did.

I got this today and I eat it in about a half hour. Looking at the pics it looked like another tower defense game but instead it feels like YOU are the one invading being that your goal is to destroy the opposing base and you have to fight your way to it, I don't know if these 4th & Battery games get content added or not, but it would be awesome of they had added leaderboards on gamecenter for new modes like seeing how many points you can get based on how long you can last or how far from your own base you can get. Great game, I recommend it. And I'm sure if they did charge for this, Apple would waive the 30% fee if the proceeds went to the foundation.
