Really hope this doesn't get filled up with hatred about Capcom releasing multiple versions of the same game.
Wait, I actually don't care.

@MGTrey
As long as I stopped anyone from meeting that criteria, then I guess we all win.
Because even though this is a free update to a pre-existing game I know one asshat is going to come in here after simply reading "Street Fighter" and is going to post "I'll just wait for blah, blah, blah, derp Edition".

I honestly couldn't even imagine doing anything more than a shoryuken on an iPhone/iPod Touch. If you needed a controller for any game, a fighting game is it.

@MGTrey The game is amazingly responsive and fun on the ipod. I also got it for a buck, so I dont ask for much out of it.

that's because of the simple mode in the game, it lets you do specials and ultras/supers with just holding down one of the dpad buttons, up/down/left/right and pressing one of the attack buttons. It's off by default.
I've been beating people too with it :P You can't play it normally, you will lose.

@SpiderPrime Not true at all sir, I can free hand ever move in the game including everything from Gief. I'll admit to using assist online though, but thats from lag ruining things.
Even with it turned on though you have to do all motions to get EX moves and people who rely on assist only never beat good players.

I wonder how long Capcom is going to ride out Street Fighter IV until another sequel? I'm guessing another five years for even a confirmation and another three years to finish it.

this game is AMAZING on iOS, you would think the the touchscreen is bad but it works really good and its very fluid. The specials are all done by touching the powerup bars. It also has online VS.
well worth the 10 bucks (i got it for 99c)

extremely playable and fun if there are people asking themselves "WTF? how can you play SF on a touchscreen?" currently 4.99 and worth it (got it for .99 when it first came out), controls are pretty good and i have no problem (they make it easier actually) with doing a few FADC combos in this version. also they fixed rage quitters with this update and i didnt have any problems with online so far since last night. solid app :D

My mind is quite literally blown to people saying this game is playable. I casually enjoy fighting games from Street Fighter to Tekken to Smash Bros. But this iOS one is not good. The 3DS version is currently the best handheld SF4 game available and Alpha 3 on the PSP is equal.
A pain to play.

@Tihn Then you just aren't good at it. I and few others I know play this game at a pretty high level and in no way does the screen control hold us back.
The 3DS version has more characters and better graphics but better control I will gladly debate as I've played both. The fact that you have to use the triggers for some of your buttons forces you to use the touchscreen to shortcut some stuff and brother is a resistive touchscreen not what you want in a pinch.
On my ipad and outside of the graphics being "mortal kombatized" it's a great experience.

I did wonder what that update contained. I didn't bother to check though because I updates my iPhone right before I had to rush out the door to go somewhere. Can't say I'm excited by Sakura or Makoto, but still, free is free and free is good. Well, kind of good, in this case.
