Heard it was somewhat of a ghost town in these game. My buddies are always playing it and keep asking me to buy it.

I don't get why PS3 and PC players can't join up for PvE. --Sony make it happen!

but I understand why not for PvP. Keyboard will own a less button-filled controller.

How much longer until this goes subscription-free? It sounds like the game is dying...

I'm not speaking ill of this game by far. I've been wanting to play this, but I can't justify game + sub if it lies on such shaky ground.

@Tinkus It seems to me that it would have been a much better route to get the game in people's hands for free and then make your money off of the subscription. I wasn't going to pay $60 for the disc and then an absurdly overpriced monthly payment on top of it. It's a shame because I played the beta and it's a fairly decent game. I'm just too cheap and poor to justify it.

just make 1 pve and 1 pvp for eu and same for na. make pc and ps3 play together.

just wait and see. they will merge again due to low pop cap and then shut the game down.

SOE should just give up MMOs

@Viiral MMOs should give up SOE. Why a property as strong as DC would entrust their characters with SOE doesnt make sense.

At least Marvel had the good sense to pull the project before they made an embarrassment of themselves.

I's guess because of EverQuest; although the success there was from Verant.

Yeah, but look at Vanguard which was created by Sigil, which is made up of pretty much EQ's original development team. That game fared worse than even DC Universe. Also, everyone I know that's played DC Universe has loved it.

MEGASERVERS! The name is almost enough to make you think it isn't a desperate attempt to consolidate the dwindling player base.

Just after it was released, I watched some reviews. No one thought it was that good. Even those that liked it, didn't really like it all that much and despite their buyer's remorse, I can't imagine they played it much longer after posting their review.

well the monthly fee its wrong in the first place, plus the online pass style of the game dont make it better neither so i woudnt get this but i enjoyed the beta.

The game isn't horrible it's just not great and with the debaucle due to the hack that pretty much was the nail in the coffin of this game. Too bad but they really blew this oppertunity it's amazing how many people just don't know how to handle their IPs.

Too much useless grinding in the game. That and the annoying pop ins of characters. I chose a character that was super fast, would run to an area and get my ass kicked by lag. Invisible PvP people gave me the beat down. First rule of fight club, test your game. Don't blame it on, oh they couldn't. BS, yes they could and I'm not staying with a broken product. This shows it was.

You know there was a beta, right?

I'll wait til it goes f2p to play again - I had the same issues.

Excuses. I paid 60 bucks out of the gate. I didn't pay for a beta. I paid for a full product, which I didn't get. You can't justify that.

I played this a month or so after launch and enjoyed it -- the combat system is one of the best I've ever seen for an MMO -- but too many glitches dominated end game play at the time, and fixes were slow to come (invisible people picking off others in open world PVP, just as fun as it sounds. Not at all). Even with the two month delay in release the game felt terribly rushed. I hope they can right the ship because there's a fun game underneath it all.

@FakeJamaican

i'll elaborate by saying that pre-existing universes don't work for a superhero MMO. It's neat to see batman and superman and fight copyrighted characters, but it also seems cheesy and lacks the magic of a user created universe.

Megaserver is another way of calling downsizing.

I played this game on the PS3, and I enjoyed it. It's a fun game, especially since you see, and play with DC characters. Well, until I reached level 30, tried so many times to do raids (never did one), got bored and closed my account.

Crisis on Infinite Servers!

The Multi-Serverse is threatened by the Anti-Monitor and his trolls, now heroes & villains alike must band together and stop this greatest of all threats. Most will survive, many will be erased from existance, and some will even die.

Along the way, our intrepid defenders will learn the great secret of the Multi-Serverse -- that is creation was due to a rogue GM attempting to look into the past and uncover the creation of the original Serverse.

I actually love DC universe and even more so that they charge 15/mo to play. It keeps away the 12 years olds who substitute profanity for english as they're screaming into the mic with their prepubescent voice on xbox live, (a tip, if your voice sounds like an 8 year old ballerina just stay off mic you have no idea how bad you're getting made fun of by real men).

However, I'm sure none of you fine gentleman fall into that category and I will say that DC has been working hard to fix all launch issues and add new content. Its a blast to play.

Now, we're all real gamers here and won't let a few dollars get in the way of our addiction right?

You know, this game is going to die and just doesn't have the support it needs. I also think it is funny that they create this game to have players play in the DC Universe, which Jim Lee designed every character for the game only to then hit the reboot button on the entire DC Universe and redesign all the characters.

They may try to use PR spin but going from 24 servers to 4 means people are not buying into the game. They should really try to go the free to play route and hope it saves the game.

I remember they released a holiday pack after the holiday before. Just stupid.

I am really enjoying the game. I got in as much playtime as possible this weekend. It may be my last chance to play my character as named. I hope the merger goes smoothly and I'll see all of the US PS3 players by Thursday.

This MMO was pretty cool and the DC license helped alot but compare it to other MMO's and its pretty standard. It was missing several key grouping features, the chat interface was a mess etc. My favorite major gaff for this was the who command for who was in your area - yes just your immediate area. So if you were looking for help on an open area quest - ghost town.

The key social interfaces were either borken missing or such a pain in the ass to use that no one bothered. So people just guilded up and it became a walled city. Hardly anyone was using the chat window so there was zero community. Any comment about it was followed up immediately with "typing is lame just use voice chat" - which completely misses the point lol.

The Sony hack hurt but really the total lack of community response and support threw barrels of gas on an already burning ship.

Free to play may keep it on life support for a bit longer, I know Sony will continue to subsidize FFXIV as its their baby but will they do the same for DCUO?
