Gamers in the UK will have the chance to play Modern Warfare 3 two months before its release at this year's GAMEfest. Hosted by "Europe's leading specialist videogame retailer," GAME, the event will run September 16-18 at the Birmingham National Exhibition Centre, and is open to GAME Reward Card holders only. Reward Cards cost £3, while tickets to GAMEfest are £10 for adults and £5 for children.
GAMEfest takes place two weeks after the Los Angeles Call of Duty XP event, which will also feature hands-on time with Modern Warfare 3, including multiplayer and the full functionality of Call of Duty Elite.

inb4 someone says they already played the game.
XD... it seriously looks exactly the same. Which is not bad for their target audience but not for me.
oh well, Red Orchestra 2 comes out in less than a month.. =D

@dblue
lolololol Red Orchestra came out before World at War.
Also its a World War 2 setting, of course there are going to be similarities.
But Red Orchestra 2 is the complete opposite of Call of Duty. One is a super arcade shooter (Call of Duty) and the other is a realistic shooter (Red Orchestra).
To compare that with another popular game. Battlefield is a middle mix of arcade and realism.

God bless Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, Activision and Bobby Kotick for making this amazing game and GAME allowing us to play it. Amen.

dude, we get that u like the game, but there are plenty of legit reasons to not like it - especially if one prefers team based FPS's and/or realistic ballistic physics
COD multiplayer is a relflex arcade shooter, which is fine but not everyone likes that. It'd also be nice if Activision invested some of that $$ into a brand new engine, a public beta, or a more substantial campaign - all they do is minor iterations and that gets old for a lot of people

What a crap series.

@Altair619 Nope. I didnt say anything about BF3. But BF2 bored me so thats probably going to be crap too. First person shooters in general seem to be stuck in this generic war battle scene. The modern times being the new generic setting, before that there was a bajillion WW2 games.
L4D2 is amazing. Lets get L4D3 rolling so it can kick the shit out of the other thr3quels.

Was there a reason why this article failed to mention the many more (IMO much better) games available at the event? Like was here a past article about GAMEfest? Or are we just sticking with the MW3 "hype" that GAME's trying to sell on there site as the main attraction for this event (even though its been known we could play this game a long time ago)?

@PSNSaMav Uncharted is not iconic enough and it is exclusive to one platform therefore no, sorry.

i think both series are great. I just rented battlefield bc2, and personally, i liked the MW2 campaign more. And it seems a lot of people say the games 'look alike' or its an 'expansion'... i think even if it was an expansion of MW2, most people are still just buying it so they can dig into new multiplayer maps and content. Thats why i'm buying it at least!

You most definitely don't play Battlefield games for their singleplayer...

I have played multiplayer on both games, and from personal experience, i did enjoy both online, but i do enjoy the fast paced gameplay Call of Duty offers online more.
overall though, both games in my opinion are fantastic.

MW3 better bring it's A game.
I was all about MW2, until i tried bad company 2.
Anyone that has an open mind and isn't a fanboy that tries battlefield 3 may not ever go back to call of duty anything.
If they don't overhaul the points/kills system (so that kills are less important than winning) and give MW3 destructable environments i see no reason to play ever again.
Blowing up buildings and the addition of real teamwork is something i now require. Anyone that disagree's should try it before they knock it.

Everyone should boycott Game to protest against their anti-competitive monopoly of the UK games retail market.

I can guarantee a lot of people are going to get a plane ticket to the UK, just to play modern warfare 3.
