A recently released packshot of the PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim carried a Games for Windows masthead, leaving some of the gaming community worried that it would also use the Games for Windows Live DRM system. Apparently, that's not the case: Bethesda's Pete Hines confirmed to PC Gamer that it wouldn't use GFWL, and the company's official Twitter account double confirmed that it would instead implement Steamworks. That is, like, so much confirmation.
If you don't really care about things like PC DRM solutions or, um, PCs in general, you might find the screenshots posted below a little more scintillating. There's a picture of a dog in one of them! A wonderful, wonderful dog.

Install Windows with Bootcamp! I did it with my 06 Macbook pro for gaming. Windows games run great, even the titles available on Mac run better Windows side :P

Geez PC gamers, the boxart never said LIVE on with orange letters. They did the same thing with Fallout: New Vegas. I play plenty of PC games so I know this stuff. Games for Windows is just a brand the put on retail PC boxes, so that you know it passes Microsoft's "seal of approval". Basically it supports Xbox 360 controllers and works on the latest version of Windows.

Xbox gamers are the ones who doesn't understand the difference between "Games for Windows" and "Games for Windows - LIVE", not PC gamers. You definitely see that in the xbox360achievements.org forums.

Imma say it. I don't really like dogs. Ive had several bad experiences with dogs in my life. While i dont outright hate them, I never plan to own one in my life.
Hopefully the dog is a fully optional part of the game.

@R Planteer I don't think anyone has said this will be a Fable II dog.
I imagine it'll be closer to a Fallout 3 Dogmeat; a recruitable companion that's moderately helpful - if you so desire.

I am really loving where they've taken the Argonians. The Khajjit are less interesting to me, just a little too yiffy still, but those Argonians look like an actual race of living beings and not just people with silly masks on.
I'd be interested to see how these two races are animated, both facially and otherwise. It always irritated me that Bethesda was lazy in Oblivion with their animations the first time around: Cat-people, touted for their flexibility and lithe nature that move - literally identically - to every other race in the land.

Looks like a lighter version of my dog. Not in the heavy sense, but in the colour sense. I am fully prepared to be labelled a dog racist.

Also an interesting foot note. By definition Steamworks is a gay sauna. Lol. I just found that out.

It wouldn't have mattered to me if Zenimax wanted to create their own distribution service and made Skyrim only available through them. I'm buying Skyrim, even if I have trek those large snow capped mountains to get it!

Question? Why is it Skyrim features Steamworks, but Battlefield 3 requires Origin? How is one service being forced on the user a feature, and another a requirement? It's like people think it's bad when its Origin being forced on you, but alright when it's Steam being forced on you. Either way, some extra software is being forced on you. Just curious.
I will probably eventually get it for PC once I figure out why the Oblivion crashes on me, even though it's more than powerful enough. Or get a new PC. Eh, have to show love for The Elder Scrolls, and the characters look so much better on this one.
