'Onechanbara Z: Kagura' to make a bloody mess on Xbox

D3 Publisher is reportedly working on yet another Onechanbara game, the second for Xbox 360. Onechanbara Z: Kagura replaces the familiar cast of characters (bikini-clad, katana-wielding Aya, her sister Saki, and cloned Reiko) with vampires named Kagura and Saaya. Don't worry; we're sure they'll be inappropriately dressed as well. We're sure the rest of the game will match up with what we know from the series: thousands of easily-killed zombies surrounding you at all times.

The Xbox-exclusive game will be released in Japan this winter. An "Onechanbara 2" listing was found earlier this summer on Play.com, suggesting that D3 is planning a western release as well. D3 is likely crunching to get it done as soon as possible, as it'll face competition from another "cute girl slashing zombies" game – one that has the potential to actually be good, instead of "so bad it's good."

It's the bizarre, almost-fetish-porn-but-not-quite series that refuses to stay down.

I'd still play it before this season's factory-line assembled FPS games, though!

Wait, the first one actually sold enough copies to make a sequel? But it was so horrible.

@Faceless Troll This will be like the sixth game. So yes, it would seem that the first sold enough to warrant five sequels.

The other one isn't even 'so bad it's good.' It's just absolutely terrible.

It's one of maybe three games I've returned in my entire life.

Those are all valid points. Frankly that was why I bought it. But did you ever try to play it?

All the bikini clad zombie-fighters in the world can't save a game that controls that badly.

@Dalrint It was fun if you played it with friends just dicking around. Hell, we finished the game not knowing there were usable items. We just spent the whole level not trying to go into that demon form thing unless it was the end.

But, I think this game has a really specific market, liek, people in Japan that bought a 360 (totally weird)...

I have the one on the Wii. I think it's great! Blood, boobies, and blood on boobies. Oh and there's zombies and bikinis. Hmm...oh and samurai swords and uh, bewbs.

That about covers it.

i actually bought Onechanbara on 360. yeh i know i know but temptation was too damn high!

Two of them have. The first one and the Wii exclusive one.

The concept is actually fine with these games, the problem with the previous one was that it played awfully and it was horribly repetitive. Fix those things and you got a winner. Scantily-clad women can only get you so far...
