If I was judging their case I'd order two sets of Rock Band set-up in the courtroom and make their lawyers "play-off" for it, highest scrore wins

I'm actually opening up my own lawsuit. I estimated I'd spend 332.00 dollars in cost after all 3 games and DLC but in reality it cost well over 1200.00+ after iON drum sets, lazers, a few mics/guitars and over 1000 DLC songs. I'm not sure what I am looking for... I'd settle for a night out with John Drake.

really shows how Viacom & Harmonix HAD NO CLUE that this genre was gonna tank sharply.

So because your estimated earnings didn't live up to what you thought, you now want your money back? Sound like Viacom got a bit overzealous with the success of Rock Band and now is backpedaling.

Happens all the time, they're called "projections."

This is probably not going to go well for Harmonix either way, Viacom is giant.

Is this the second time Viacom is asking for money back, or are we talking about the same incident? Either way, this is highly unprofessional from either perspective - either they screwed up immensely, or they're actually trying to go back on an agreement that they settled with the stockholders.

How come every time I read some bad news, Viacom has something to do with it?

This is how sub-divisions of companies go the way of the dodo, and subsequently, how some games never get released.

Jarring, ignoble arguments over hundreds of millions of dollars.

"How about we call split the difference and put the whole pot into a future investment, like more games and better company infrastructure for a sound financial future."

"No, I'm saving for a yacht this month. The money is mine."

"I'm getting a second yacht. Game on."
