The fact that they have 5 iterations of the same device, with very minor changes, and still make an ass load of money makes me hate Apple and all of their customers.

@NathanDTS lol. AND their customers? sigh.

The phone is great. There's only so much you can do with the games. It's not a tower computer.

@zefur Care to elaborate on why my dislike of sheeple makes me stupid?

At least they aren't releasing 10 devices a year that are barely distinguishable from one another.

@NathanDTS Dislike? You said "hate", mate. And sheeple? You said "all customers".

So you're saying you hate everyone who has ever purchased an Apple product and calling them all sheeple, not to mention you're also using the word sheeple which makes you a despicable person to begin with. I can't think of anything more stupid. It's such a trivial matter to get worked up over too, and to be so passionate about.

@Oddgirl

Who's they? I'm assuming you're referring to Android? If so, those are several makers under one OS. That's quite a bit different. That's like saying there's too many PCs, and they should only make as many PCs as Apple creates Macs.

Bottom line is, there are too many iOS AND Android devices. It's impossible to keep up, and the changes are pretty much unnoticed. Besides slightly better cameras and slightly better processors, the phones honeslty haven't changed much in the last 5 years.

This is why I'll be buying a Vita. I'm guaranteed my 250-300 dollar purchase will be viable for at least 5-6 years.

Smartphone users can take jabs at my decision all day long, but even if I get the 3G version of the Vita, who's data plan will probably be about what an iPad's is, I'll be spending significantly less with my cheapo phone and no data long with my Vita and data plan a month, especially considering I won't need new hardware every year.

I've been there done that with 3 iPhones, 2 Androids and 1 tablet, and it's just not worth the price tag for what you get. I just want a good browser and the ability to play good games, and that's simply something a smart phone can offer at this time.

@Shockwave No, I'm not referring to android. Android is an operating system, a great one at that, not a company. Apple is a company, so I'm comparing apples to apples.

HTC. Motorola. Samsung. They are "they". And not like I have anything against the phones they make, I was just trying to make a point.

Apple make me sad for humanity. A billion unplayable games and no one cares. People went crazy over the PSP having one analogue... thingy, but can't wait to buy up the cack Apple have on a device with no proper controls.

Sorry to mention the obvious, but this section of Joystiq is for mobile platforms. Tablets and phones. DS and PSP/Vita have a section. There are people who game on a phone while they are out and about o to the connivence of it. A dedicated handheld is always better. AndPC's are always better than consoles. Thanks for the insight of the failings f mobile Captain Obvious! If you hate mobile platforms so much, then don't play games on them people, but stop bitching about them.

I have an iPhone, an iPad 2, PS3, Onlive Micro Console. I plan on getting the Vita when it comes out. I can find decent games on each system. They are apples and oranges to each other. Pardon the obvious pun. Each works for what it des, and shouldn't be compared to the other. $2-7 for a game with achievements isn't bad at all.

@OMAOILRIAN I think this is just due to fear that these simple, cheap mobile games are going to make dedicated handheld consoles obsolete. It makes us gamers a bit trigger happy to pile on iOS releases etc. Once Vita is out for a while and 3DS still exists and we all breathe a sigh of relief that we aren't going to be forced to JUST play mobile games for the rest of our lives the dissing will fade. Ride it out a bit.

The person who's playing in the video really needs to learn how to use the rudders.

I love how these trailers never show you the thumbs all over the screen getting in the way, which is what happens when all you have to control a game is the touchscreen. I don't care how good it looks, the iphone will never be a competent gaming system for anything but certain casual games. You don't have good controls, you can't see the screen past your fingers, phone calls can interrupt game play at critical times, and you quickly use up the phone's short battery, which just might be needed to make or receive calls. It kills me that people think this will take off.
