Tomb Raider celebrates 15th anniversary with Steam sale this weekend
12
Has it really been 15 years since we shared in Lara Croft's obsessive lust for artifacts and her undying vendetta against endangered species? Heck, the creatures of the earth aren't even safe after they've become extinct -- she's killed plenty of dinosaurs too.
To commemorate fifteen years of robbing graves, dodging traps and accidentally swan-diving into neck-crunching granite, Steam is offering the post-reboot Tomb Raider series at a magnanimous rate until Monday, 10AM Pacific. Tomb Raider: Underworld is the most expensive of the lot at $6.79, with Tomb Raider 1 remake Anniversary going for $3.39. Crystal Dynamics' first stint with Lara, Tomb Raider: Legend, is available for $5.09.
At under $16 in total, it's a trilogy to be treasured. Err, right before next year's reboot, of course.

Don't let the later PS1 games and Angel of Darkness keep you from playing these games. For those who just wrote these off, these three games have some of the best Prince of Persia-style navigation puzzles I've had the pleasure of playing through. If nothing else, give Anniversary a try with how cheap it is.

Better deal (in my opinion at least) is the daily deal going on right now. The first two Max Payne games are on for $3.75 total, and both work on Windows 7.

Yeah Max Payne is the better choice. I already own the CD versions on PC but I bought this anyway just so I don't have to bother putting the discs in. Yup...I am that lazy. Also, I love these games.
Downside to Windows 7 for the first Max Payne is you have to run a custom program to get the audio to work...oh well, it's easy to do so no worries.

I've been playing through Max Payne 1 + 2 for the first time over the last week, and while they DO work on Windows 7... They don't exactly work WELL... Compulsive quicksavers like me get the shaft when a bug occurs after quicksaving where Max randomly decides to either not move at all, or to constantly move without stopping, forcing you to reopen the game. Oh, and my game save totally got corrupted today, so I get to go back like 2 hours in Max Payne 2... HURRAY!

@Janitor
Christmas time*
People who say "Xmas" kinda bug me. I mean, c'mon, the ACLU isn't going to care. You won't be sued.
Stupid politics.

Got all but Underworld. The camera looks like it could piss me off and I'm still playing "Dark Souls". I don't want to break 2 TVs....

None of these games are any good. The camera in particular seems to have been designed by a moron. The original Tomb Raider is still the best. Not even 2 or 3 come close. But it is so old and antiquated feeling now, I dbout new players will be able to get into them.
