Sega's constant whoring of the Genesis legacy = No

I wouldn't mind the whoring at all if they just gave the whores a facelift. Imagine if Shining Force had received some pretty new graphics, a real touch interface and some nice red lipstick?

Sega has two choices:

#1
Sega - "Go play our classic games on our classic systems"
Fans - "BOO, screw you Sega, you SUCK!11! We want classic games on one console!"

#2:
Sega - "We're bringing our classic games to consoles and handelds for new generations and old to enjoy!"
Fans - "Sega you're just whoring yourself, we only want new content. Sega SUCKS!1!!11!"

Yea, there's really no way to with anymore for them, is there? They are giving you the classics like Daytona USA from their back catalog while making a good sonic. How about we just shut up and be thankful.

I have no issue with Sega introducing old games to new platforms.

I have an issue with Sega using the same 30 games for the past 10 years to do it.

"Man, I could use Altered Beast ONE MORE TIME, and maybe on the Vita."

The Genesis version of VIRTUA FIGHTER2 is just awful. Avoid at all costs, even if they offer it with candy.

Agreed. Saturn or Arcade version only. Sadly, the iPhone should be able to do either. I'm not even sure why they made this version. Taking away the 3D environments and fighters is basically taking away the only thing this game had going for itself back in the day.

@foxhound I like it, but then again I like a lot of bad games.

Tho I wouldn't call VF2 (GEN) bad

@VideoGameConnection mmm, but VF5 for PS3 has no online play...which is sorely missing. I need to show people what a bad ass I am w/Shun Di

At first I thought that it was pretty lame that the sale only applied to iOS apps, but then yawned and realized that nothing of value has been lost. Sega is just a lost cause to me now.

Daytona USA is hitting PSN/Live this week. This proves Sega can do anything it wants, especially take us into the AM2 library.

I hope Daytona is just the start.

In the meantime, I'll take VF3 for a spin on the Dreamcast whilst I wait.

Ahhh, I remember playing both this stinker and Virtua Racing on the Genesis back in the day. It was mind blowing. Even though I've played Star Fox and Stunt Race FX on the SNes to death back in the day, I suppose Virtua Racing was more impressive by the time standards. Couldn't survive the test of time as gracefully as the other two, though.

But VF2, man, thinking back, that was just a novelty.

Now if they started porting the Sega CD games over, now we're talking. I'd love a sixaxis HD remake of Sewer Shark. Get some Ground Zero Texas action with the PS Move Sharpshooter or Kinect, or even touchscreen iOS devices.

A Dark Wizard remake would also be nice if we're not going to get an updated Shining Force or Sword of Vermillion.
