Taking place many years after the events of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, this short film produced by Ubi Workshop shows Ezio as a much older dude with a family, retired from the assassination game. But when a young assassin suddenly asks for his help, Ezio must put down the cane and crossword puzzle, and once again pick up the blade. Which is great because he was totally stuck on 13 down anyway.

So he survives Revelations? SPOILER ALERT! Jk. Is this a foreshadowing of AC 3? It's taking place in China? Awesome!

Seriously. You'd think they'd wait at least a LITTLE while for something like this...

Imagine if Assassins creed took on that graphical style...I think current systems could handle that....

They seriously need to take a break from Assassins Creed for a while...

@agentkuo Don't understand why people have downvoted this guy. They really do need to take a break from it. Releasing a game every single year is bad for any game series. While they may be pulling it off and releasing good games, just think of the potential if they took two or even three years. It could be of even higher quality with fresh concepts and ideas and even more refined. They could take more time writing the story and really taking their ideas and pushing them to their full potential. There's many aspects that would benefit from them taking a break or at least taking longer creating each game. And as a plus, there would be a longer wait between games, which would make you have more time to miss Assassin's Creed.

i think with all the crap that Ubi has been releasing (Kinect fitness games) they need something every year that will sell, but yeah i agree with both of you. talk about saturation, i'm getting pretty sick of seeing Assassin's Creed here, Uncharted there, Halo up in space, and Call of Duty shit everywhere. i'm all for Ubi taking a break on the franchise. i think that's really what it needs, and another thing, can we get away from Ezio already? he's really not that good of a character.

Now I know Ezio doesn't die in revelations, way to spoil your own game ubisoft.

Assuming you're serious, they might not consider that a spoiler. And to be honest, it is the mildest of spoilers.
"Oh, this thing didn't happen that could have potentially happened. My day is ruined!"
The only way this is a major spoiler is if you *expected* Ezio to die in Revelations, which would itself have been an unsubstantiated assumption.
Or hey, maybe this takes place in an alternate, non-canonical version of the AC universe. Starting Schmezio.

@Nevarky The fact that Desmond can follow him around makes it impossible for Ezio to die, and if he would die in the game, that means he would already have sired an heir, meaning that Desmond couldn't be following him in the first place.

@TheBrainninja I didn't expect Ezio to die, I didn't know if he was going to survive, and it made it kind of exciting. I agree with you, it's a minor spoiler, I'm not saying the game is going to be crap now.
But it's still something I would have preferred to learn in the game, and I find it kind of annoying that they reveal this trailer so early, it's like they´re not letting revelations have it's own moment, and they already disposing of it.

I'm a bit worried about how they'll handle that, honestly. That's plot-hole city if they aren't careful.

Not exactly. All they need to link Desmond to Ezio is for Ezio to have a child at some point in his life. I think they alluded to that act during Ezio's time with Cristina, but they haven't revealed anything specifically. I don't see how his death would break the link.

@WiredKnight Not really if you think about it, it makes sense, the animus access memories trough DNA, so once Ezio passes this "DNA" to a new Desmond ancestor there is nothing that links them anymore.
Ezio can have as many children as he wants, and this won't affect Desmond accessing his memories, but the moment Desmond's ancestor is assured he can no longer link to Ezio.

I want this so badly, but they've said little about distribution. This had the PSN and XBL logos at the end, so maybe they'll put it there? That could be interesting.

Dammit! Hopefully they put it up on the store separately.
As a related sidenote, the retailer-exclusives are completely ridiculous this time around. Not only are the CEs different per-country, but you can only get most of them at one specific retailer. That is offensively stupid. I was glad that the Brotherhood CE skipped that stupidity after AC2's transgression, but they seem to be back to their old tricks.

I'm fine with a new AC game every year, they've already said that the world is supposed to end in 2012 in the game and that Desmond has to stop it, so they're keeping it with the actual timeline thus far.

I'd prefer if they took 2 years to make AC3. I don't mind Brotherhood and Revelations because they were technically additions on top of the AC2 engine, and had plenty of content to back it up. However, AC3 should have a lot of polish on top of it considering it's the last in the series (I hope).
