My issues with the destruction in BF3 is that it seems very inconsistent or just down right harder to achieve.
you'll see a warehouse or a building, hit a wall with an RPG and nothing happens. A big circle of black. Aim two feet over and suddenly half the entire side falls off. go around the other side and that is, no matter how many rpg's you launch at it because there are stairs or something behind it.

Operation Metro is probably my favorite map because of the layout. There's a little bit of destruction by the B flag. You can blow up the rails near the last escalators. You can also tear down all the glass windows inside. By the C flag, there's a wooden wall you can shoot down, but there's no point to that because the other side is spawn. There's a truck right next to A flag that you can blow the back doors off of and go inside.

Too bad the PS3 version rarely feels this fast paced.

Really? Even in Rush mode? Especially as an engineer I get the feeling on most maps that everything is exploding/wanting me to die.

Well it seems that your gamestop ordered more initial copies than it needed & hasn't sold them all. If you revisit all previous videos & articles it clearly states to preorder for the karkand pack. Some people just assumed that meant it was the first print. Preordering would've legally entitled anyone to the LE version.
As a purchaser from Amazon: at 3am, the day of release, Amazon ran out of the LE version & began selling the regular version which still sold out on at least one console.

It just the Strike to Karkand trailer. I think they will have trailers for the other three maps as well.
Also, people are saying that Karkand will have seven flag posts for Conquest, maybe the original eight flags. =D
Finally, most BF3's base maps are pretty small in comparison.
^Also think this will be PC-only. The console versions will most likely have three or four flag points.

When I was watching it that's what I thought too. I'm not gonna cry about it but it would be cool if they could go back and update those maps to include more destructible environments.

The MG36 was a BF2 Special Forces Expansion Pack unlock. I also saw some Chinese gun being used when that was MEC in the original game.
So I'm guessing they'll just unlock the stock BF2 guns and then they're cherry picking random "unlocks" from BF2 + BF2SF but not going with all of them.

damn looks real good. can't they do an update to the old maps so they can have more destruction or no. cuz is a lot of destruction and what happen to the the earthquakes and the building completely falling down on people.

@ZXREYES
I believe that's in the campaign lol they don't have natural disasters built into the MP engine :p. But I like where your heads at! Also I'm thinking about how they would execute the adding destructibles to the old maps and it really comes down to how the maps are built and how easy it is to change a model from a static one to a destructible one.

yea i was wondering about that building thing. i haven't played the campaign yet obviously . I will though i love the campaigns but it would be really cool if earthquakes were in the multiplayer and they can upgrade the destruction on the old maps. also I wish they the tanks and other vehicles would explode on the spot instead of just being disabled then you shoot it again then it explodes.

I'll be amazed if this kind of debris exploding everywhere is in the console versions of the game.
if so....DICE, you did a damn good job at programming this game.

1 week early for PS3? That's not too bad.
Especially compared to CoD and 1 month early map packs for X360.
Cannot wait! 22 hours in and I'm only 21st rank!

Do you guys and girls think that the bridge and bridges in other BTK maps will be destructable? and then having the ability of the engineer to repair it like in BF2?
Posted: Nov 18th 2011 3:28PM Cathal said
I didn't see, but is for the 360 too? The destruction and graphics aren't near BC2 so I'm hesitant that they'd get it working on the console like that.

So they are calling "Strike at Karkand" instead of "Back to Karkand" now? Why change the name when it's already stuck? Sounds like some British thing now.

Anyone else would like night time battles where you have to use Night Vision, and can use the mortar to light up the area with flares.
I really want night time battles true night time as well.
