Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't a safe place for anyone on the business end of a sniper shot or cheats. MW3 community czar Robert Bowling recently announced on Twitter that Activision issued over 1,600 bans and reiterated "any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in [Modern Warfare 3] will not be tolerated."
"Reporting [cheaters] in-game through [Modern Warfare 3] goes directly to our security team, who issues the bans directly after verifying," Bowling noted. "Every ban unique to the level of douchiness of the offense. The greater the douche, the greater the length. PermaDouche possible."
We appreciate the effort Activision apparently goes through to keep each ban fresh and clean. Last week, Battlefield 3 went through a similar cleansing.

GOOD! If you cheat, use a modded controller, or glitch to gain an advantage then you can go die in a fire! Or just get banned, I guess that works too.... Little less dramatic though, needs more fire and brimstone.

@Tommy758 Getting? It's been ridiculous for about 3 years, or whenever MW2 was released. I like the series, I truly do, I just hate the direction they're taking it. The series used to have some dignity to it. Look at CoD4, CoD2, even W@W and you'll find something about them that was at least a little dignified. Now they have titles and titles with pictures of woman on their backs, in bikini's, holding pistols like their in last stand. Not to mention titles with skulls smoking joints called "joint ops"... The series has lost all self respect, and then they leave the community to beta test it. No game feels like CoD when you play it, it's got a smoothness to it. The second another game figures out how to do that, I'm jumping ship.

Have you even played MW3? There has only been 1 map hole and it was patched already. Have not personally found a single bug yet and I'm almost 2nd prestige...

Even though I already jumped ship during the first months of Black Ops, I agree with this.
"No game feels like CoD when you play it, it's got a smoothness to it. The second another game figures out how to do that, I'm jumping ship."
Battlefield got alot smoother than it was with BC2, But its still not there.
People think copying killstreaks and all that shit will sell their game, When its actually the feel that will sell it.

Personally, if I was in charge of dealing with this stuff, I wouldn't ban them, I would just modify the system so that each cheater was marked in a database but there was no indication that they're on the list. Once a player gets on this list, weird shit happens to their gameplay... their bullets randomly do no damage... other people's bullets seem to go straight to the head... maybe their load outs get reset randomly... you know, generally frustrating things that they can bitch about... oh, also they get sent to a different server so that they can play weird mode with each other.

I figured it out a long time ago. In CoD games now, there's really not that much going on behind the scenes. There aren't building physics, no dynamic lighting, no gravity simulation, etc. They allocate all those unused resources to making the framerate buttery smooth.
People aren't lying when they call CoD a simple game. The code is so easy to rehash year after year after year.

All hackers should get permadouched. Then they need to drink it. Those douches, I mean.

Okay so the morons with buttons in their names -- especially on the 360 version -- those guys are hacking, right? 'cos I've reported every one I've seen.

Its not a hack. You put in your clan tag by typing an M, then A (with accent mark), and then push any letter from a to f to turn them into those button shapes you see.

Unfortunately, you're wrong. It's an exploit, and reportable, and people who do it will be banned.

@Pok3rFac3D Treyarch seemed to try to actually do a good job with Black Ops. The MW2 support was a complete joke. There was no excuse for the atrocious support (or lack thereof) for that game. At least they're doing something for MW3 now instead of waiting until next year like they did with MW2.

I think the studio slowly falling apart is a pretty decent excuse.

I'm glad to hear this...I went back to play COD4: Modern Warfare to work on prestiging there, since I hadn't before...and I couldn't believe how many people were using sniper hacks. It was clear from the kill cam and from the custom status messages, there was some sort of auto-aim hack going on. I know they won't patch that, but I'm glad to see that they are addressing this in MW3 before I start playing...

I wonder, how do they ban the douches who use modded controllers? My index finger and thumb on my right hand, were permanently challenged after an accident and I haven't thought of using modded controller once....I camp instead. lol

1600 down 1,000,000 more to go!(on each console) Infinity Ward is the most overrated developer now a days. They get way too much credit for the actual "work" they do.. They made little to no changes from mw2 - mw3 and can't even keep cheaters out for a month? Someone explain to me how they aren't making these crack like addictive games for the money
Posted: Nov 21st 2011 6:53PM Bobrek said
@Gutterpipe Well with the internet and google search, it only takes one person to find a glitch and post it online for a couple of thousand idiots to use said glitch.
When you consider that roughly 0.1% of the population of the world own this game, it's not very likely it will take 1 person a long time to F it up for everyone.
