I'm waiting to see how Bioware manages to work a shoehorned, inappropriate, borderline-creepy romance into C&C: Generals 2. Only then can it truly be considered a Bioware Game.

Even the word "ambitious" is an understatement for BioWare, and they almost always execute so well. They're crowd-pleasers, first and foremost.

"a microtransaction-based chibi kart racer iteration of Mass Effect crossed with Dragon Age for iOS"

I would actually think about playing that. As long as I could import my own Shepard, and not that freak imposter they use in the advertising.

Also, the Irrational podcast episode where Levine interviews the Doctors is really incredible, and probably one of the best overall video game interviews I have ever read or heard.

I don't agree, as I find the new BioWare to be much more oriented towards the majority (take Mass Effect and Dragon Age, for example) of gamers, and not towards the small niche that they had before the massive explosion of casual gaming.

BioWare harcores are the absolute worst fanboys in the world.

They are the same people who constantly do "INSERT BIOWARE GAME 1 HERE > INSERT BIOWARE'S SEQUEL TO GAME 1 here".

If we had these sort of people running these sort of companies, or worse, the studios actually listening to these people, we would be nowhere today but playing the same crap over and over again. These are the worst kinds of people afraid of change, they don't like it. If it were up to them nothing would change and we would be stagnant in every way imaginable.

People, things and times change, you need to adapt and move on. Sure, sometimes its not as good as it was before, but even then, its not as bad as you make it out to be. I swear, from what I read from DAII players on BioWare's forums, they made it out to be the worst thing that has ever happened since the Holocaust. FFS, it was still a good game, I enjoyed it. It wasn't agonizing, I wasn't getting punched in the testicles with every minute I played but oh man, reading some of the stuff people were posting, you'd believe that it were true.

So BioWare makes ONE game that is subpar to what they have done before. Yes Dragon Age origins was better than II, but because they made ONE bad game, all of the sudden every fan goes "I miss the old BioWare". Are you KIDDING ME? ONE GAME?!? They tried something new and it didn't work out as they'd hoped. Perhaps taking a Mass Effect approach to Dragon Age with a main character and face isn't the best thing.

But god damn am I getting tired of these freaking kids telling me that BioWare is a sell out, their games are now all going to suck, the company is done, R.I.P BioWare blah blah blah.

If I get downvoted, it just simply means that the same negative Nancys hate being called out, if I get upvoted, it means people are tired of hearing people complain about a company that has brought us some of the best games of this generation.

"If I get downvoted, it just simply means that the same negative Nancys hate being called out" Right, the only explanation you can provide yourself as to why you would be downvoted would be because it proves your point, How convenient for you. It couldn't be because the only thing more annoying than people complaining on the internet is people complaining about people complaining on the internet, home of anonymous complaining.

Different people think bioware 'changed' at different times, this complaint has existed long before ME2 and DA2 existed. For example, some think everything after the first Neverwinter Nights has been poor work. Of course, you wont hear these complains because that was ages ago. the reason you hear complaints about DA2 now is because that was their most recent game, and also one of their largest let downs (both for themselves, in regards to its success and the fans, in regards to how they received it.)

Welcome to the internet, where people complain.
If you're looking for less complaining, then I would recommend not reading the comments.

@BoBsS UGH, you people are ridiculous. It's not about change, it's about COMPLETELY changing a current series. Mass Effect 2 wouldn't be so bad if it didn't completely scrap the RPG elements. I have no problem with new IPs going their own route, but stop butchering series' midway to gain a new audience.

They made changes, based on fan response to the first game. I'm sorry you didn't like the changes(I did), but I'd encourage you to check out this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4B_MkzXMMk&feature=related
It goes into detail on the changes made in ME3. Hopefully it shows that they've listened to criticisms such as yours. Skip to 2:12 for the RPG/gameplay portion of the video.

I rather enjoyed Dragon Age II. It definitely was not as good as Origins. No one would argue that. And I do get SOME of the criticisms (recycled environments, contained story), but the combat was a blast to play and it was still a really fun game. But good god, you'd think people were playing Pulse Racer*.

I remeber the days of bioware announcing some new product and everyone looking forward to it.

Imagine my surprise when I read another aricle about how bioware is shifting away from what it was but still won't really change, they swear!

its just like when DA2 came out and everyone was worried it wasn't the product they were hoping for, Bioware told us to trust them, and we did... And it was exactly what most people were afraid of.

Bioware is bioware any more, EA ate it inside out and runs around in it's skin pretending it still has competent employees that know what they're doing and telling people 20 different pieces of preorder dlc is a good thing.
I hope obsidian doesn't get ruined the same way.

On a Jedi Sentinel focusing on earning dark side points, I build an 'emotional engagement' in SWTOR by choosing goody-goody conversation options to keep my companions happy, until a choice contributes the points I need. Then we're flushing orphanages out of airlocks.

It's psychotic to pay attention to.
