Star Wars: The Old Republic might not have picked up too many "Game of the Year" awards in 2011 (due mostly to the fact that it was out for about 10 days when the year ended), but that hasn't stopped EA from getting some awards declared for the game anyway.
First, the company declared its own title the "fastest-growing subscription MMO" around, and now it's worked with the Guinness Book of World Records to declare SW:TOR the "Largest Entertainment Voice Over Project" of all time. The 2012 Gamers' Edition of the famous world record publication has a whole guide to Star Wars video games over the years, and also heralds BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic as the best game with Jedis ever made.
True, KotOR is great, and the MMO has over 200,000 lines of quest dialogue spoken by a couple hundred voice actors, so Guinness hasn't missed its mark. But it sure seems like EA's fishing a little far out in the bay for compliments on this one. How about giving us a call when the game is ready to win the Guinness award for most polished Mac release, guys?

If you don't like the tie in games than don't play them. Then your precious source material won't be ruined, the published will make more money off of its sales and spend it on the next flagship installment.
Warlocks are mushrooms and that's economics.

How about you own a Mac and you knew what you were getting into? Mac owners crying about not being able to play games is hilarious. Maybe you should have thought about that before you decided to be a hipster.

actually it's pretty much spot on. no one buys a Mac desktop if they're serious about PC gaming. i thought everyone knew this already. as far as gaming with Apple..well, there's always the social games.

I am a Computer Science major that primarily uses Macs for everything, including gaming, and I can enjoy games just as much as you can.
Quit over generalizing, you're all like fun nazis or something.
I would rather hang out with a liberal arts major than a bunch of debbie downers like you!

What's these "problems" that need fixing? I've been playing a few weeks now and I already think it's the best game of 2011.
By the way I never played dragon age and not a huge fan of mass effect so I'm no bioware fan by any stretch.

I love SWTOR, but this is a pointless "award." How is it at all relevant to the quality of the product or the success of the title? Might as well call it the Guinness world record for most lines of code.

@StrangeDNA Im sure they have that award also... Do you not know what guiness is?

Probably no one. Cause the space for it will hardly be enough. -.-
I prefer playing games in a house.

I have been having a lot of fun with the game so far. I was surprised at how much the VO helped the story telling aspect. That is a lot of dialogue thou.

Stupid return button on my iPhone. What I was trying to say is that, I had just purchased a Mac and that it is great for allot of things but, gaming ain't been one. My understanding is that the late Steve Jobs did not agree with games being on the Mac thus apple never went out and cultivated relationships with game developers. If you happened to develope a game for the Mac, he was cool with it but, he was not going to lift a finger to help you get your game on the Mac

200,000 lines of dialog and my bounty hunter still spouts the same stock, "Where do I come in," or, "Compared to my last job, this'll be nothing," half the time.
And my companion makes the same inane comment about whatever city every time we enter.
The amount of voice acting is great, but I wish they'd focused more on minimizing the repetition for the characters you'll be listening to throughout the entire game.

I doubt Bioware would win an award for most polished Mac release if there's a Mac version as they've only done a proper mac version for NWN, as their other games have been ported to the Mac by a Mac porting house or they've been cider ports.

I'm just happy that David Hayter and Cam Clarke reprised their roles as Jedi Solid Snake and Jedi Liquid Snake! They should have made that a Guiness record. I'm sure somebody else here had to of played The very beginning of The male Jedi Knight campaign.
