The Final Fantasy wears Prada

I would say Square Enix jumped the shark but I feel that happened a while ago already...

Tex Murphy may be revived as a Kickstarter proposal

Hell yeah! I hope it works out.

James Gunn on learning from Lollipop Chainsaw

@ShoTime

I just don't see how anyone would be able to build a strong story from a collection of gimmicks. It's clearly a game that sets out to be mindless fun (but in a lazy and boring way, in my opinion).

James Gunn on learning from Lollipop Chainsaw

"a teenage girl using a magical chainsaw and cheerleading moves to kill zombies, with the help of her boyfriend's still-living, detached head."

A scantily clad cheerleader, a magical chainsaw and zombies?? AWESOME!!!!111111

.....Is what I would say if I didn't hate this brand of tryhard gaming/film. Too lazy to create a compelling story? Easy! Write words like "nazi", "zombie", "nun" and "ninja" on pieces of paper, put them all in a hat and draw 3 words. Create game.

Double Fine breaks Kickstarter funding records

@Wackydavo
2. I think they might be hurting themselves by not putting a cap on the funding. So many people will get the game for "free" and who knows how many non diehard adventure fans will later buy it? So their profit could end up being really small because most of the potential buyers will end up funding a 5 million dollar game rather than buying a small 500k game.

Double Fine's Kickstarter adventure surpasses $400K goal

@fluffyanimals In that case I wonder if anyone will make the $150,000 pledge and who do I have to kill to live their life.

According to the official website, the reward for a $30,000 pledge is a picture of Ron Gilbert smiling.

What I don't get is this... do big pledges get you the investment back after the game is published? If someone gives $30,000 are they giving that much out of the kindness of their heart and some cool but minor rewards?

The enduring web of indie veteran Spiderweb Software

Feb 3rd 2012 4:53PM (Joystiq)
I'm a big fan of spiderweb software and have been since the 90s (I feel old...). Gotta say, though, as someone who played and loved the original Exile games, I'm not really interested in this remake.
