Gaze into the eyes, ear horns of these BioShock Infinite figures

We may not be able to judge how BioShock Infinite plays as a game yet, but we can certainly tell that it's a pretty experience with some intriguing characters, at least superficially. Now you can own two of those characters, Elizabeth and one of the Boys of Silence, both made by the video game toy gurus at NECA.

The Elizabeth and Boys of Silence figures are available in the Irrational Games store for $20 each or $35 as a set. Irrational also added lithographs of the Handyman, Elizabeth and Songbird, and Charles, each for $25 or $65 for the trio. A limited edition trio includes signatures from Irrational creative director Ken Levine and artist Robb Waters, running $150.

NECA's Sky-Hook replica will also hit the Irrational Games store "soon," in a limited quantity. It's not safe for too much awesomeness to exist in one online retailer, after all.

Team Fortress 2 Demo and Pyro action figures now available

If your childhood was/is anything like our own, a good majority of it was probably spent blowing up and/or incinerating action figures that totally had it coming, on account of being found guilty of being the bad guy or belonging to one of our siblings. Valve and NECA's shiny new Team Fortress 2 figures follow a somewhat similar theme, though they typically prefer to be on the giving end, rather than the receiving.

Available at Toys 'R' Us, Amazon or directly from Valve's own store, both Demo and Pyro figures measure 7 inches tall, feature 25 points of articulation, include codes for in-game goodies, are individually numbered (1 to 10,000) and cost about $22.

Half-Life 2 Gravity Gun on sale in April, sign up for updates

The Gravity Gun will go on sale on Think Geek in April for $150, but there will be a limited quantity. Like the Portal guns that sold out in just 30 minutes last year, once they're sold out, they're gone forever. BioShock Infinite Sky-Hook replica now up for pre-order

Those certain the Sky-Hook will be their most beloved BioShock Infinite sidearm will be pleased to learn that pre-orders for NECA's recreation are now open. In the video above, you can see the game-accurate "leather textures" and "highly detailed engravings" of the motorized replica.

US gamers can pre-order the 22-inch long, nearly 11-inch tall prop now through GameStop for $79.99. NECA's Sky-Hook will launch ahead of the recently delayed BioShock Infinite, on February 26, 2013.

Gears of War Judgment 'Car No. 13' Lancer replica at GameStop (plus: Judgment footage)

If you're keen on getting a replica of a fictional weapon - but don't feel like making it out of Legos - GameStop is offering a less laborious option. The "Car No. 13" Lancer, yellow with checkered taxi cab accents, is now visible on the pre-order page at GameStop. The replica is being sold for $99.99 and wil go on sale through GameStop in February.

We've also got four new gameplay videos from Gears of War Judgment. Above, you'll see some campaign in the Mansion level, followed by campaign footage from the Museum level just past the break, followed by two multiplayer videos.

Jump at the chance for a real Portal 2 jumpsuit

NECA is beginning a bold new behavioral experiment, to determine whether the addition of a logo will render plain orange jumpsuits desirable enough for consumers to purchase them in high quantities and for $100 each. The company's hypothesis is that it will, and we tend to agree.

In order to get one of NECA's official Portal 2 Chell Jumpsuits (in women's and men's sizes) from ThinkGeek, you need to get on a mailing list. ThinkGeek will alert its "Test Subjects" about the product's availability when it arrives in October. This is the only way the retailer plans to sell these, so if you want that testy look go sign up now.

Pre-orders are available from a variety of other retailers, some of which have their own restrictions - like only offering reservations during the weekend of Comic-Con (i.e. now). Given the response to other Portal memorabilia, you're better off pre-ordering immediately from your retailer of choice.

Gordon Freeman action figure has no push-button catch phrases

NECA's latest Valve figurine features a surprisingly smooth-skinned Gordon Freeman in a hazard suit, and comes with two sets of interchangeable hands, even though limb detachment is a feature we don't quite remember from Half-Life 2 (at least, not voluntary limb detachment).

Freeman stands 7 inches and has 20 points of articulation, and also comes with four separate accessories: crowbar, bugbomb, gravity gun and headcrab.

The Freeman figurine runs $18 and will launch in September, Lambda Generation notes. Just in time to get grandma that headcrab she's always asked for during the holidays.

NECA introduces P-body style Portal gun replica

All right, maybe we didn't really notice that the Portal gun used by P-body in Portal 2 co-op looked different. But NECA did, and designed a replica of that attractive, striped gun. The lights for this one, of course, are different from the original (we noticed that much!), glowing in orange and red.

NECA plans to make 5,000 of these, "and we'll do our best to make sure it reaches those who were not able to purchase the [previous] replica," the company said. Retailers will be announced next week.

NECA's plan to sell an official replica of Aperture's handheld portal device - otherwise known as the Portal gun - has run into the double-whammy of rabid demand and puny production output. NECA is offering another 50 (!) replicas, which will be available for pre-order starting tonight at midnight ET, according to its Facebook page.

Just, uh, leave one for us, okay? Please? We'll buy you a delicious piece of - ah, nevermind.

Borderlands action figures from NECA are looking nice-a

Borderlands is getting the Barbie treatment with its own line of action figures from NECA, starting with Claptrap and the Psycho Bandit. The Borderlands Series 1 figurines are painted in an homage to the game's cel-shaded cartoon style, and while we wonder how the Psycho Bandit's pants can possibly stay on his hips even with that belt, the simple, chunky designs have grown on us.

Claptrap stands 4.5 inches and looks especially canon, featuring an extendable antenna (making him 6 inches), a wheel with shocks, hinged shoulder and eye flaps, ball-jointed shoulders and hinged, swiveling elbows, along with a display stand. The Psycho Bandit stands 7 inches and includes a buzz axe accessory, ball-jointed head, shoulders, elbows, thighs, feet and wrists, a hinged torso, swivel waist and hinged knees.

Check out a few photos here and look out for Series 1 figurines to be available in May, with Series 2 to debut in August with Zero the Assassin and Salvador the Gunzerker.

Watch the toy Portal gun do its thing

Toy maker NECA demonstrates its replica Portal gun in this video. It lights up in both orange and blue, and makes appropriate Portal-y sounds! In short, the toy does everything you'd want a Portal gun to do ... except for the one thing you'd want an actual Portal gun to do.

NECA notes on its Twitter page that pre-orders in the US are currently sold out, but "other opportunities" are coming. Perhaps you should keep an eye on that Twitter page for your next chance to get in a clicking race with other ravenous Valve fans.

Portal Gun arrives at Think Geek, goes on sale mid May

Despite a brief scare last week, NECA's replica Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device is still on its way to virtual store shelves, albeit in fairly limited quantities. Think Geek's listing for the gun has gone up with an estimated availability date of May 18, although pre-orders do not appear to be part of the plan.

Instead, interested enthusiasts register to receive an email notification once the Portal gun goes on sale; from there it's first come, first serve. NECA has only manufactured 5,000 of the $140 replicas, and considering that Portal 2 sold three million copies in its first two months on the market, we expect demand to be fairly high. Remember when you learned about sharing in kindergarden? This is why.

Replica portal gun orders canceled by some retailers [update: still coming, says NECA]

Update: NECA claims that the Portal gun is still being prepared, but fell victim to uncontrolled numbers of pre-orders. After slamming on the brakes with certain retailers, the association aims to deliver the replica between May and June in an "organized and fair manner."

Original story:

NECA -- National Entertainment Collectibles Association -- was set to create a line of replica portal guns for public purchase in May or June this year, but it has stopped production on the piece, citing "issues" and "no longer planning on making it for the foreseeable future," according to information shared via email by distributor Entertainment Earth. "The item was never produced, and to the best of our knowledge will not be delivered to any retailer at this time."

Entertainment Earth has logged a protest with NECA, but for now it seems we'll all be $130 richer and a million-fold more heartbroken.

Replica Portal gun coming from NECA in late spring/early summer

Portal has been around for about five years at this point, and over the years we've suffered countless fits of unreasonable jealousy due to the multitudes of homemade, replica Aperture Science Handheld Portal Devices floating around the Internet. Many a night have been spent fantasizing about somehow owning our own without taking out a second mortgage, and now the dream can finally become a reality.

Well, not now now, but in a few months. NECA Toys is developing a line of licensed Valve products that include Team Fortress 2, Half Life and Left 4 Dead 2 action figures, but the crowning jewel of the series is NECA's one-to-one scale ASHPD replica. It lights up and everything. The device should be available somewhere around May or June of this year and retail for $130, according a brief video interview with NECA's Randy Falk at The Verge. We predict a mad rush on Repulsion, Propulsion and Conversion gel and Long Fall socks as soon as these things hit the shelves.

Left 4 Dead's Boomer action figure is pretty gnarly

You know who we'd like to see featured in the hit television program Dirty Jobs? The guy who's responsible for making this Left 4 Dead Boomer action figure. Just think: Some poor soul at NECA not only had to mold this fully articulated, pustule-covered monster -- they had to paint on his every blemish, scab and scar. There is no amount of money high enough to merit such attention to nastiness.

We won't be able to get our hands on this figure (and others from the zombie-centric hit) until next Spring, but you can be sure that when we do, our hands will be safely enveloped by gloves. Check him out in all his oozing glory after the jump.

NECA Assassin's Creed figures leap out of hiding this fall

Your Beanie Babies are in trouble, because Ezio Auditore da Firenze is coming to establish guild dominance all over your desk. NECA has posted images of its Assassin's Creed figures, which we first heard about last year. The ebony version of Ezio will be available exclusively at GameStop this October, while Toys R' Us will get a white, unhooded Ezio sometime this fall.

NECA also showed off an unpainted model of Ezio in Da Vinci's flying machine. Check out all the images in the gallery below.

Everyone's favorite character from Borderlands is getting a toy, courtesy of NECA. No, we're not talking about a Scooter action figure (though that sounds like an excellent idea), we're talking about bounty board attendant supreme, CL4P-TP -- Claptrap, for short.

NECA was on-hand at Comic-Con this past weekend, showing off the prototype above. The final version, which will be able to recite lines from the game, is slated for release this October. Frankly, we can't wait to get our own, mostly because we've always wondered what kind of loot our house has been hiding.

New Gears, BioShock 2 toys coming exclusively to Comic-Con

Worried you'd never get a collectible based on Gears of War comic character Jace Stratton, a gentleman who has yet to put any face time into an actual Gears of War game series? Well quit it, worrywort! (You're only hurting yourself.) NECA recently told Toy News International that it'll be bringing Stratton -- and several BioShock 2 figures -- to the upcoming 2010 San Diego Comic-Con International for sale in limited quantities.

We'd love to tell you more about the BioShock 2 figures, but we're not trying to ruin the end of the game for those of you who might still be wary of spoilers. You can have a look for yourself right here.

NECA making action figures based on Borderlands, BioShock 2 and more

If you appreciated the handiwork of the National Entertainment Collectibles Association on the BioShock 2 props revealed a couple weeks ago, then you'll be pleased to know the company has revealed that additional video game-themed products are in the works. According to a Figures forum post, five franchises will receive replicas by early 2011: BioShock 2, Street Fighter, Gears of War, Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2. Three other projects were mentioned, but not detailed: Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Borderlands (which includes an "articulated Claptrap with sound effects").

You can find a full list of the characters that the company will toy-ify on the Figures forum. Most of them are based on the aforementioned franchises' nightmarish enemies -- but hey, if you feel like lining your desk with Necromorphs and Unbaptized Babies, that's your prerogative.

BioShock 2 props surface ... and you can buy them

You've wanted one ever since seeing it in the very first trailer for BioShock 2. You even have one for your Xbox Avatar. Now you can buy a real, official replica of the cuddly "hand-made" Big Daddy plush doll that's featured in the game.

Toymaker NECA has announced that the collectible is now available for $20 from various retailers, along with a highly detailed, 8" replica of an EVE syringe* ($16) that lights up blue when you push in its plunger. We realize these items are but a small consolation for 2K deciding not to release the $15,000 "Über Edition" of the game, but you have to admit they're pretty darn cool.

Gears of War 'Delta Squad' getting boxed for UK gamers

NECA's Gears of War inspired figures are heading to the UK in a special Delta Squad box set, according to Electronic Theatre. Originally available in various packages across North America, the special UK release of the Delta Squad package will include fan favorite characters (sans the Carmine brothers) Marcus Fenix, Dominic "Dom" Santiago, Augustus "Cole Train" Cole and Damon "The Annoying One" Baird, as well as new weapons and accessories exclusive to the set.

The series also includes a feature some gamers would prefer to do without: The ability to completely repel the opposite sex if located within 30 feet of your bedroom.

BioShock's Big Sister now a small action figure

If you're salivating at the idea of owning your own BioShock action figures -- hopefully ones that aren't broken out of the box -- we don't blame you. GamerVision has posted some images of NECA's new BioShock action figure line and, to put it simply, they look great. The figures are not finalized, but they're already boasting plenty of detail.

GamerVision reports that the figures will be shown at the San Diego Comic-Con this week, though their release has apparently been delayed in accordance with the delay of BioShock 2 itself. Perhaps that's for the best though. After all, we're not sure if we could get any work done with a Big Sister staring us down from atop the desk.

Unless we had a Big Daddy to protect us, of course. Check him out after the break.

Behold the vacant stare of the Chun-Li action figure

NECA has a long history of crowding our shelves with action figures, and while we're accustomed to emptying our wallets for these plastic diversions without question there's just something about this latest Chun Li figure that looks a little ... off.

Set for release in August, she's one of a three new NECA toys based on Street Fighter IV, including figures modeled after Akuma and Guile as well. And while each of the figs has their own unique quirks, maybe it's Chun Li's oddly-defined muscles or creepy blank stare that's weirding us right out. On second thought, it's gotta be the hands. They're just way too small.

NECA had quite the Gears lineup at NYCC's Toy Fair this past weekend, and MTV Multiplayer was there to check it out. Aside from a ~~cute~~ Marcus Munny, attendees could also check out the new Boomer figure, as well as the Ticker, among others. Personally, this blogger is glad to finally see a Colonel Hoffman figure. It sucks not having the toy of the guy you murder countless people online with, you know?

NECA offers free repair kit for toy Gears Lancer

For those who were willing to slap down the extra cash for the Gears of War 2 Lancer bundle over at Amazon.com and were unlucky enough to receive a broken Lancer, know that manufacturer NECA will send you a fix-it kit.

NECA is reporting that some toy Lancers were manufactured incorrectly, not allowing the batteries to make proper contact which results in a less than functioning Lancer. NECA is offering a fix (a small metal plate and installation instructions), all you have to do is shoot them an email with your name and address, then they'll send you a fix kit. Lancers without lights or sound are just not acceptable.

Comic-Con attendees, meet GoW2 and the Cliff

We already touched on the upcoming Comic-Con 2008 festivities, but yesterday Microsoft released an officially official press release detailing all the Gears of War 2 love they'll be showing for Comic-Con attendees. And already, we're jealous we can't attend.

Microsoft will have a booth setup on the floor where everyone can get a chance to play Too Human and Ninja Gaiden II, where also on Saturday, July 26th from 2:00-2:45PM the Cliff Bleszinski and GoW2 lead writer Joshua Ortega will be signing Gears posters. Later on Saturday, from 3:30-4:30PM, team Epic will be holding a "Gears of War" Showcase Panel where Bleszinski, Ortega and Karen Traviss will discuss all things Gears and give an exclusive preview of the vehicles and weapons that'll grace Gears 2 come this Fall. NECA will also be on hand selling an exclusive Carmine figure, previewing the General RAAM figure and there will be other Gears comic and novel goodness all over.

2008 is the year Gears of War 2 takes over Comic-Con and, depressingly, we can't attend. Though, MS does promise to "Bring it Home" via Xbox Live, so that should help our Gears 2 needs. Hopefully it'll be enough.

Now, onward to today's giveaway where we'll be awarding one lucky fanboy a set of two NECA created Gears of War action figures including "da man" Marcus Fenix and Augustus Cole. Bloody good NECA Gears of War series 2 figures

Adding to the already solid Gears of War action figure lineup, this week toy manufacturer NECA released official product shots of the seconds series of Gears of War figures that are set to hit retailers sometime this Fall. And no, you aren't experiencing a Gears induced case of deja vu. We've previously been treated to a few toy expo photos of the second series figures, but these are prettier and 100% official product shots. 'Nuff said. Browse through our Gears of War action figure gallery below to view all four new series two figures including Dominic Santiago, Damon Baird, Locust Theron Guard without helmet and Locust Theron Guard with helmet both sporting our favorite weapon of death, the torque bow. Sadly, there is no mention of the gruesome Locust headshot figure. It must be a limited edition.

(Psst, if you're in love with these figures, wait until you see what Fanswag surprise we have for you next week. It's truly epic.)

NECA announces Gears of War figure boxed set

Action figure creator NECA just announced that the first series of their Gears of War action figures are now available at retailers and also announced a new boxed set featuring exclusives.

The Gears of War Action Figure Box Set features all four series one figures including Marcus Fenix, Augustus Cole, Locust Drone and Locust Sniper, their standard weapons as well as an exclusive Hammer of Dawn accessory and an alternate helmeted Locust head. A helmeted Locust head that comes complete with removable respirator and goggles! NECA didn't supply pricing or availability details, but we're sure your GoW fanboyism will kick in and you'll be able to track down this big box of action figure fun.

By golly it's Carmine, alive and at Comic Con!

Even though we can't quite figure out how it's possible, we've been informed that Carmine will in fact be back in Gears of War 2 with or without his head attached. Knowing this, the action figure gurus over at NECA created an Anthony "Tony" Carmine action figure that's set to release exclusively at this year's Comic Con. This seven inch tall Carmine figure comes complete with Lancer and Gnasher in hand and will only be available at the convention between July 24th and the 27th. We wonder if his head is detachable? Pics below.

In preparation for the release of their Gears of War action figures, NECA just launched the official GoW series one website complete with photos, some making-of shots and a weapon breakdown as well. Simply point your browser in this general direction to view all all the Gears action figure goods and to begin the action figure envy process. NECA unveils Ninja Gaiden II Ryu figure

Taking their Gears of War action figure experience to a new ninja level, NECA (with the help of Action Figure Insider) just released some sculpt in progress photos of an upcoming and previously unannounced Ninja Gaiden II Ryu figure. And even though the prototype figure is tan colored blahness, it's still teh hawtness! No word on a release date or pricing, but we'd expect our lovely Ryu figure to ninja-kick retailers in time for the game's June release.

The long-awaited (but never viewed) first salvo of Gears of War action figures should be landing in your neighborhood Hot Topics and comic book shops in the next few weeks -- as a special teaser, manufacturer NECA released a plethora of images of the four burly, sailor-mouthed characters featured in the first series of man-dolls: Marcus Fenix, Augustus "Cole Train" Cole, Locust Drone, and everyone's favorite, Locust Sniper. We can't even imagine the kind of brutal, testosterone-enriched tea parties we're going to hold once we obtain these tiny gunhavers -- especially when our supply of Earl Grey begins to dwindle.

Gears of War action figures now fully packaged

The action figure manufacturing crew over at NECA recently posted a few final packaging photographs of their Gears of War action figures that are set for release sometime this month. You can view the glorious packaging photos of Marcus Fenix, Locust Drone, Locust Sniper and the controversial Augustus Cole in the gallery below. Yup, you have to agree, they are beautifully gory figures and the packaging is (dare we say) much better than that seen in the Halo 3 McFarlane figures. Much sleeker and figure specific.

GoW series two figures: Now with exploding heads!

Thanks to the little big event dubbed ToyFare 2008, AFI has blessed us with a photographic preview of NECA's Gears of War series two action figures. And before we go any further, the awesomely bloody-violent picture you see above is a second series GoW figure rightfully named "Locust Headshot". A figure that brings tears to our eyes and is a guaranteed X3F purchase. We've even made room for it by our Viva Pinata toys.

Moving along, NECA's second series will be comprised of the Locust Headshot figure you see above, Dominic Santiago, Damon Baird and another Locust variant. No release date has been set, but one could gather that since series one will be releasing in April, the second series should release either in the Summer or Fall. The wait will be rough on us though, we want our headshot figure NOW!

Final Gears of War figure revealed

Earlier this week the National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA) revealed the fourth and final figure in the Series 1 set of upcoming Gears of War action figures.

Joining previously announced models of Marcus Fenix, Augustus Cole and the Locust Drone, the Locust Sniper looks like the perfect addition for gamers to add to their collection when the figures release in April 2008. Actually, the models are so detailed that we would even recommend playing out your favorite Gears of War scenarios should you run into any issues with playing games. Gears of War action figures now fully revealed

Action figure manufacturer NECA has been teasing us with artistic Gears of War product shots lately (they just released a preview of the Locust figure yesterday), but they're teasing has gone on long enough. Long enough, because we've come across teaser free full body shots of the new figures ... take that NECA!

The folks over at BigBadToyStore posted complete product shots of the new GoW figures including Mr. Fenix, Cole and a Locust, all of which are seven inches tall and retail for around $17 US. We also thought we should mention that BigBadToyStore has a listing for an unannounced Gears "Series 1 Sniper Variant" figure (no picture of course) and our edjamacated guess would be that it's another Locust variant. But, in the meantime, you can salivate over the complete GoW action figure product shot that we've lovingly placed in the gallery below. Yum!

Gears of War figures chainsaw to retail in Spring [update]

Update: We've placed two Marcus Fenix figure shots as well as a new Cole figure shot in the gallery below. Enjoy!

We now officially have a new set of toys to compliment (or rival) our Halo 3 McFarlane figures with manufacturing guru NECA confirming that Gears of War figures will be releasing to retail later this Spring.

NECA announced that three "highly detailed" Gears figures will be available at retailers later this Spring, including our man Marcus Fenix, Augustus Cole, and a Locust Drone. NECA did not confirm any dimensions or pricing information in their press release, but did say that the Gears figures will have "extensive articulation, and game-accurate accessories". Chainsaw much? They also found it fitting to tease us with a dramatic Marcus Fenix figure pic you see above and did not include any full product shots. Yes, the pic is artsy and gritty, but darned if we don't want to see 'em already. What little teases.
