Giger's creations terrorizing marines, and a little behind-the-scenes on the upcoming release. The trailer talks about both the tension buildup that's so important to the <em>Aliens</em> franchise, and the freedom that Gearbox had to both make use of the movie's most familiar locations, and also create their own in new and interesting ways.<br /> <br /> Oh, and there are some weirdly extraneous "action" shots of the game's creative team, mixed in among the commentary and game videos. Gearbox's Chief Creative Officer Brian Martel is a standout offender on that one. Nice hat tip there, bud.</div></center><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/08/15/aliens-colonial-marines-trailer-is-looking-stylish/">Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer is looking stylish</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Aug 2012 05:00:00 EST. <em>Duke Nukem Forever</em> might actually be completed and released -- but like most everyone, I won't be convinced until the final product is in my hands. During a recent press event, I played through <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/03/duke-nukem-forever-preview/">the same demo</a> we saw at PAX and spoke with 2K Games senior producer <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/melissa-miller/">Melissa Miller</a>, who did her best to reassure me that the game might actually, maybe,<em> seriously</em> come out.<br />
<br />
"It's really amazing when you think about it, because these guys -- along with everybody else -- thought <em>Duke Nukem</em> was dead," Miller recalled of one of the current developers, Triptych Games, which was founded by nine ex-members of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/3d-realms/">3D Realms</a>. "And they were a group that just said, 'No, we're not gonna let this stop.'"<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/29/duke-nukem-forever-interview/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Duke Nukem Forever interview: An end in sight</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/29/duke-nukem-forever-interview/">Duke Nukem Forever interview: An end in sight</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 29 Oct 2010 09:00:00 EST. Speaking with local TV station <a href="http://cbs11tv.com/video/?id=47666@ktvt.dayport.com">CBS 11</a>, Martel notes that more <em>Brothers in Arms</em> is in "the future for sure" for the developer. A surprising admission, since <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/brothers-in-arms-hells-highway"><em>BiA: Hell's Highway</em></a>'s retail performance was <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/24/status-of-aliens-colonial-marines-muddled-in-gearbox-layoffs/">cited by sources</a> as a cause for layoffs at the developer last year. Apparently the series warrants another go.<br /><br />Martel also mentions that there are some ways <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/Borderlands/">Borderlands</a></em> could work on the Wii and its control scheme, but it doesn't sound like the company is interested in porting the main game. He mentions that Gearbox may take the character <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/claptrap">Claptrap</a> and possibly make him into a "sort of a side-scroller character." Gearbox will likely be protective of the IP that appears to be the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/21/borderlands-shortages-reported-gearbox-responds/">surprise hit of the season</a>.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2009/10/22/another-brothers-in-arms-for-sure-modern-times-ahead/">ThatVideoGameBlog</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/23/gearbox-expects-more-brothers-in-arms-not-planning-on-wii-borde/">Gearbox expects more Brothers in Arms, not planning on Wii Borderlands port</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 23 Oct 2009 17:30:00 EST.
