<br />
Being a team composed of ex-media, the <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/">PlayStation Blog</a> dudes have been sorely missing a podcast for some time, leaving Major Nelson to eat their lunch. Last month, however, PlayStation US social media guys Sid Shuman, Jeff Rubenstein, and Rey Gutierrez teamed up with product evaluator (and known <em>swell guy</em>) Nick Suttner to create the "Official PlayStation Blogcast."<br />
<br />
Beyond rapping about games, the guys do the occasional interview, highlight especially interesting PlayStation content (the <em>incredible</em> XMB theme above, for instance), and this week they're kicking off their "Origin stories" series on the game industry. The guys also have an insider eye into the goings on behind some of PlayStation's <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/@vita">neatest stuff</a>, so it behooves you to give them a shot.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/12/10/playstation-blogs-all-stars-enter-week-three-of-official-blogc/">PlayStation blog's all-stars enter week three of official 'blogcast'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sat, 10 Dec 2011 00:00:00 EST. It seems the various game demos contained in the $100 <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/playstation-move">PlayStation Move</a> Starter Bundle will arrive on PSN at a later date. "Most of the demos will be up after launch," noted Sony product manager Ami Sheth in the comments section of a recent Move unboxing vid post on <a linkindex="51" href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/09/02/playstation-move-bundle-final-retail-unboxing/">PlayStation Blog</a>. "Stay tuned for PlayStation store updates."<br />
<br />
The Starter Bundle disc pack-in supposedly contains 11 demos, and Sony social media manager Jeff Rubenstein calls it "probably the best demo disc that's ever been included with any console." He also promises there'll be a video showing off that disc in the near future. We've requested a list of the demos on the disc, but for now we're eagerly anticipating what will probably be <em>the best</em> video showing off a demo disc ever to ship with any peripheral's marketing campaign.<br />
<br />
<strike>We should also note that an </strike><a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/PlayStation-Move-Starter-Camera-Controller/dp/B003S9WRYW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=videogames&amp;qid=1283882570&amp;sr=8-1"><strike>Amazon UK listing</strike></a><strike> for a similar "Move Starter Pack" indicates there are just nine demos on its included disc (which are "subject to change"), ranging from <em>Start the Party!</em> to <em>Hustle Kings</em>. Bizarrely, the product description also suggests that the <em>Echochrome 2</em> and <em>Beat Sketchers</em> demos on the disc do not feature Move support.</strike><br />
<br />
Update: As commenters have pointed out, the UK bundle contains nine demos that will all be available on PSN at launch (detailed by the <a href="http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/09/07/everything-you-need-to-know-about-playstation-move/">EU PlayStation blog</a>), which we've listed after the break.<br type="_moz" /><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/07/most-playstation-move-demos-coming-to-psn-after-launch/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>'Most' PlayStation Move demos coming to PSN after launch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/07/most-playstation-move-demos-coming-to-psn-after-launch/">'Most' PlayStation Move demos coming to PSN after launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 07 Sep 2010 16:00:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Nolan North may be a <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0636046/">posterboy</a> for video game voice acting but, as you'll hear in his interview with the PS Blog's Jeff Rubenstein after the break, working on the <span style="font-style: italic;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/uncharted">Uncharted</a> </span>games is his favorite job so far. He describes what makes voicing these games so different from others -- but that's not all he discusses. There's almost eleven minutes of pure Nolan North interview to watch here, including a visit from a few of his <span style="font-style: italic;">Uncharted 2</span> voicing buddies. <br /><br />As for the burning question of who would be best to play Nathan in an <span style="font-style: italic;">Uncharted</span> movie, we're surprised no-one mentioned the obvious answer. Nathan Fillion, duh.</div>

Oops, we totally neglected to mention that yesterday was the 2nd birthday of Sony's <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/06/11/happy-2nd-birthday-playstationblog/">PlayStation Blog</a>. It's worth noting because of how the site has grown up under the leadership of Social Media Manager <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/jeff-rubenstein">Jeff Rubenstein</a> and the nameless/faceless behind-the-scenes folks at Sony's US PR operations. Since its inception, the site has helped humanize Sony's messaging and worked well in creating a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/virtually-playstation-blog-e3-2009-meetup/">better community</a> among Sony's devotees.<br /><br />The US PlayStation.Blog is working so well, in fact, that it's clearly the template for the recently launched <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/05/28/european-playstation-blog-now-live/">European PlayStation Blog</a> (which thankfully put two bullets in the back of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/three-speech">Three Speech</a>'s head). So, congrats to the US PlayStation Blog team! May they have many more years of blending the line between corporate mouthpiece and community site.<br /><br />

Sony has confirmed that "just about" every PSP game releasing after October 1 -- the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/sony-bringing-psp-go-october-1-for-249-in-north-america/">release date</a> of the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/psp-go">PSPgo</a> -- would be available for download. <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/">PlayStation Blog</a>'s Jeff Rubenstein stated <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/06/07/playstation-around-the-web-what-we-read-51/#comment-228758">on Sunday</a> (via <a href="http://www.destructoid.com/all-psp-games-will-be-downloadable-by-october-1-135654.phtml">Destructoid</a>) that he couldn't speak about the availability of third party titles at that time.<br /><br />We followed up with Rubenstein today and he told us, "The majority of back catalog PSP games will be made available for download around the launch of the PSPgo." We made sure to ask if he was speaking strictly about first-party titles and he told us he meant "the majority overall."<br /><br />So, as of October 1: A "majority" of past PSP titles will be available for download.<br />After October 1: All <em>first party</em> titles will release as downloads on the PlayStation Network.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/">PSP Go</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/#2068236"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/pspgo-black--gamestore-1024a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/#2068235"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psp_black_open-angle-1024a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/#2068234"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psp-go-closeup-1-1024a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/#2068233"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psp-black_hand-c-copy-1024a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/psp-go/#2068232"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psp-black_hand-a-copy-1024a_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/10/a-majority-of-back-catalog-psp-games-available-to-download-oct/">A 'majority' of back catalog PSP games available to download Oct. 1, all first party titles thereafter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 10 Jun 2009 14:00:00 EST. Luckily, you won't need a time machine, just check out the gallery below to see everyone having an amazing PlayStation time. <br /><br />Also, make sure you take a peek at the video above to see Jeff announce, with the result of rapturous applause, hand shaking and high fives, that the first one hundred people to attend will not only be going to the Sony Press Conference, but to the entire three-day show, as well. <br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/">Playstation Blog Meetup: E3 2009</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046715"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200906_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046714"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200904_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046713"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200908_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046712"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200907_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/playstation-blog-meetup-e3-2009-1/#2046711"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2009/06/psbloggermeetupe3200909_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/01/virtually-playstation-blog-e3-2009-meetup/">Virtually @ PlayStation Blog E3 2009 meetup</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 01 Jun 2009 04:00:00 EST. Don't believe us? Watch the above video and check out the PlayStation Blog's Jeff Rubenstein as he confidently <em>strides</em> across the store and proves to you that they exist. Testosterrific! They're available in both $20 and $50 flavors and should be in stores nationwide. Hmmm, isn't <em>WipEout HD</em> <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/12/youd-be-foolish-not-to-buy-wipeout-hd-at-20/">around $20</a>? How convenient! And it's coming out <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/15/wipeout-hd-brings-hyper-racing-home-on-september-25/">so soon</a>, too ... <br /><br />So now you don't need a credit card to grab stuff from the PSN Store. You Europeans can stop complaining about Entropay not working anymore, too -- you should be able to buy PSN Card codes far more easily now they're so readily available.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/09/15/looking-for-psn-cards-have-you-tried-your-local-blockbuster/">Looking for PSN Cards?
