See, Konami just sent in a press release announcing that a PSP version of the aforementioned game would be coming stateside in 2010. We could've sworn that we already knew about the re-release of this cult classic -- perhaps someone's just changed something in the Matrix. Then again, maybe it's because the ESRB rated the PSP port almost three months ago. Yeah, that's probably it.

The plot of Shadow of Destiny is too complex for us to possibly relate to newcomers in any sensible fashion. Instead, we'll just say it's like Groundhog Day -- particularly the part where Bill Murray dies over and over again.
Konami confirms U.S. release for Shadow of Destiny PSP port originally appeared on Joystiq on Thu, 22 Oct 2009 15:35:00 EST. At this time, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board lists a "Teen" rating specifically for the PSP version of Shadow Of Destiny, as well as a cautionary note describing the numerous ways in which protagonist Eike gets bumped off. Remember, you're solving your own murder mystery in this one!

With the death of adventure gaming having been revealed to be entirely exaggerated, it comes as little surprise to see even Konami digging through its backlog for a few classic walk-and-talkers. Not that we're complaining.

[Via Siliconera]
ESRB rates Shadow of Destiny PSP port originally appeared on Joystiq on Sat, 01 Aug 2009 00:15:00 EST. Many of you are probably clueless as to the existence of the original game, which released on PS2 way back in 2001. This adventure game centers around Eike Kusch, a chap that runs into the misfortune of getting murdered. He then gains the strange ability to go through time, and must travel through four very different eras to figure out the mysteries surrounding his death. Freaky stuff, right?

Multiple endings are promised in an adventure we're dying to replay. Considering its cult status, a PSP revival will seem completely original to most gamers out there. Let's hope the gameplay is as timeless as its main character.
Just in case you forgot, here's the Shadow of Destiny trailer originally appeared on Joystiq on Mon, 27 Jul 2009 19:45:00 EST. Known as Shadow of Destiny in more American parts of the world, the game begins where many come to an end -- with your unexpected demise. Conveniently, you're given the opportunity to repeatedly travel back in time to prevent your own, numerous murders at the hands of an unbelievably persistent assailant. And in true adventure game style, doing so requires the kleptomaniacal hoarding and improper application of random items. Believe it or not, a well-placed frying pan will save your life.

If you're not particularly keen on searching for the ancient PS2 or PC versions, feel free to join us in our clamor for an English version of this portable release. Konami has spoken: "There are no plans to release a PSP port of Shadow of Destiny in North America at this time."

Initiate incessant clamor ...
