A listing for <em>Sonic Adventure 2</em> has appeared on the <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Sonic-Adventure-2/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258411202">official Xbox site</a>, complete with a handful of screenshots (one with some PlayStation buttons!) and a description. The listing was pulled from the US Xbox.com, though the UK version has yet to be taken down. No downloads are available but, given that the port doesn't even officially <em>exist</em> yet, that's not surprising.<br /><br />The listing claims the game features all of <em>Sonic Adventure 2</em>'s original content, Chao Gardens and all, now in high definition. Given Sega has already re-released the original <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-adventure"><em>Sonic Adventure</em></a>, it only makes sense that the sequel would be as well. We've contacted Sega to learn more.<br /><br />[Thanks, Phoenixumn.]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/19/sonic-adventure-2-spotted-on-xbox-com/">Sonic Adventure 2 spotted on Xbox.com</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 19 Jun 2012 18:00:00 EST. Adorable, we say! For instance, Sega's big reveal of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2"><em>Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2</em></a> probably wasn't intended for as inauspicious a venue as the Xbox Live Marketplace, but here we are with a whole mess of new screens and several new details about the game itself. <em>A-dorable</em>.<br /><br />Anyway, according to the Xbox Live Marketplace listing, <em>Sonic 4 Episode 2</em> will feature online and offline co-op play with Tails, all set in an "all new game engine" with updated physics. The blurb further promises "four brand new Zones" and a "new special stage." From the shots that were released thus far, it's looking like Sonic and Tails should pack an extra pair of snow boots!<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/">Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/#4822031"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/sonic4ep2screenlg1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/#4822032"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/sonic4ep2screenlg2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/#4822033"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/sonic4ep2screenlg3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/#4822034"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/sonic4ep2screenlg4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2/#4822035"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/02/sonic4ep2screenlg5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/02/15/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-2-details-sneak-out-via-xblm-listi/">Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 details sneak out via XBLM listing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 15 Feb 2012 12:00:00 EST. Usually, an ESRB rating is indicative of an impending release date announcement or, in the case of badly promoted games, an impending release.<br /><br />Android, iOS and Wii classifications are missing from the ESRB's breakdown of the title, which isn't to say that those version don't or won't exist, but it <em>is</em> a good sign that they may not be among the first batch of platforms to receive <em>Sonic 4: Episode 2</em>. Nostalgia is a powerful thing, friends.<br /><br />Well, the fact that <em>Sonic CD</em> is arguably the best 2D Sonic game of all time probably has something to do with it too, but we all know most of us bought it just to hear <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPyOLV_rGo8">Sonic Boom</a> again. Revisiting two decades of games, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> is pitched as a celebration of Sega's previously pudgy mascot and the timeless appeal of blue skies, checkerboard loops, and things that go "boing." But much like the one Sonic receives in the opening, <em>Generations</em> is closer to a lame birthday party that you attend out of courtesy.<br />
<br />
That feeling you get from playing every Sonic game after Genesis brews as disappointment and eventually becomes sympathy, mostly for the branded custodians at Sonic Team. They can't seem to please anybody, can they? Oh, Sonic's jumping feels wrong. The momentum is messed up over here. It's about exploration, not speed! <em>Guys</em>, the physics of my anthropomorphic blue hedgehog is inaccurate within this segmented fantasy landscape! Even when they make a game -- well, let's say half a game -- dedicated to capturing Sonic as he was, before vocal chords and a third dimension, they still can't win. Why?<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/01/sonic-generations-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Generations review: Run-time compiler</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/01/sonic-generations-review/">Sonic Generations review: Run-time compiler</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 01 Nov 2011 18:30:00 EST. <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/23/pre-order-sonic-generations-on-steam-receive-classic-sonic-game/" target="_self"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/10/sonic3dblasttitlescreen.jpg" style="border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-style: solid; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; margin-left: 4px; margin-right: 4px; margin-top: 4px; margin-bottom: 4px; " /></a></div>
Today has been a pretty good news day for the dusty old codgers here at Joystiq; not only will the original <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em> be <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/23/sonic-generations-will-include-the-original-sonic-the-hedgehog/">included</a> in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> as an unlockable, but Steam has gone and sweetened the nostalgia pot by giving away <em>Sonic 3D Blast</em> and <em>Sonic 3 and Knuckles</em> with every <em>Generations</em> <a href="http://store.steampowered.com/app/71340/?snr=1_4_4__100_2">pre-order</a>.<br />
<br />
<em>Sonic Generations</em> hits Steam November 4, but the pre-order bonuses become instantly available at check-out. And look at it this way, even if <em>Generations</em> ends up being a flop, you can tell yourself you spent 30 dollars on two Genesis ports, which is a much more palatable sense of disappointment.<br />

We knew <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> was coming out on PS3 and Xbox 360 on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/13/sonic-generations-hitting-ps3-and-360-on-nov-1/">November 1</a>, but Sega has been quiet about the release window for the dual-screen, dual-hedgehog 3DS version.<br />
<br />
Today, Sega dismissed the building <a href="http://www.gonintendo.com/?mode=viewstory&amp;id=163782">rumors</a> that <em>Generations</em> on 3DS had been delayed until next year. The publisher announced that the 3DS game (which has almost entirely <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/10/all-sonic-generations-3ds-levels-to-be-platform-exclusive-save/">exclusive content</a>) is just a <em>bit</em> slower than its speed-obsessed console counterparts, and as a result it'll hit stores on November 22.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/21/sonic-generations-dashes-to-3ds-november-22/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Generations dashes to 3DS November 22</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/21/sonic-generations-dashes-to-3ds-november-22/">Sonic Generations dashes to 3DS November 22</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 21 Oct 2011 07:30:00 EST. Sega is sending out a second demo for <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a>, its multi-year mascot mishmash coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 1. The new demo, which should be available on Xbox Live Marketplace starting tomorrow (followed by a North American PSN version on October 25), revisits the checkerboard loops of Green Hill Zone, this time with a "modern Sonic" component.<br />
<br />
The classic version of the level (see: slightly rotund Sonic) will also be available in this demo, just in case you missed it in the first round back in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/22/report-sonic-generations-demo-hitting-psn-xbla-june-23/">June</a>.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/new-ish-sonic-generations-demo-coming-to-ps3-360-starting-this/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>New(ish) Sonic Generations demo coming to PS3, 360 starting this week</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/17/new-ish-sonic-generations-demo-coming-to-ps3-360-starting-this/">New(ish) Sonic Generations demo coming to PS3, 360 starting this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 17 Oct 2011 16:00:00 EST. If <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1"><em>Sonic 4</em></a>'s original price point of 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) was a little too rich for your blood, you can cancel that transfusion you set up with your obscenely wealthy uncle. Sega will drop the price of the game to 800 Microsoft Points today, and to $10 on PSN next week.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/sonic-4-gets-permanent-price-drop-now-10/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic 4 gets permanent price drop, now $10</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/12/sonic-4-gets-permanent-price-drop-now-10/">Sonic 4 gets permanent price drop, now $10</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 12 Oct 2011 13:40:00 EST. How confident is Sega in <em>Sonic Generations</em>? Well, the company's willing to build in a piece -- and thus, a reminder -- of 2006's <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em>. We hope the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/02/fast-hedgehog-slow-loading/">loading times</a> aren't carrying over alongside that game's "Crisis City" level.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/07/sonic-generations-trailer-reaches-the-modern-era-of-werewolve/">Sonic Generations trailer reaches the 'modern' era (of werewolves and girlfriends)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 07 Oct 2011 15:20:00 EST. Sega has announced that their upcoming return to majestic sci-fi action fantasy, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/phantasy-star-online-2"><em>Phantasy Star Online 2</em></a>, has been delayed into 2012, reports Siliconera. The purpose of the delay, according to producer Satoshi Sakai, is to address gameplay issues brought to light by user feedback submitted after the conclusion of this summer's alpha testing.<br />
<br />
A second alpha test will be conducted some time during the first part of next year; returning alpha testers will be joined by new recruits in order to evaluate the changes made based on their feedback. Delays can be a double-edged sword, but when a company specifically cites addressing user feedback as a delay's justification, that's <em>usually</em> a good sign.<br />
<br />
Not that any of us will ever actually get to <em>play</em> it, mind you. After all, it is a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/18/phantasy-star-online-2-preview-back-in-action/">Japanese exclusive</a>.<br />
<br />

<em>Phantasy Star Online</em> hit some kind of magical sweet spot back in 2000. Though its spinoffs and followups kept much of the formula from that release, there was always something that felt off about them, and prevented some fans (like me) from getting fully into them.<br />
<br />
It turns out that maybe those games were hewing too closely to the first <em>PSO</em>, because the new <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/phantasy-star-online-2"><em>Phantasy Star Online 2</em></a> feels significantly different from its predecessors in action, and seems to have paradoxically recaptured the <em>PSO</em> excitement by doing so. It definitely hits all the right notes, but the mechanics have actually been upgraded. Can you believe it? Of course, the bummer about this is that it's a currently Japan-only, PC-only game.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/phantasy-star-online-2-tgs-2011/">Phantasy Star Online 2 (TGS 2011)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/phantasy-star-online-2-tgs-2011/#4458606"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/pso201l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/phantasy-star-online-2-tgs-2011/#4458607"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/pso202l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/phantasy-star-online-2-tgs-2011/#4458608"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/pso203l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/phantasy-star-online-2-tgs-2011/#4458609"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/09/pso204l_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/18/phantasy-star-online-2-preview-back-in-action/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Phantasy Star Online 2 preview: Back, in action</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/18/phantasy-star-online-2-preview-back-in-action/">Phantasy Star Online 2 preview: Back, in action</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 18 Sep 2011 13:30:00 EST. We know that <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> represents a sort of back-to-basics approach, with a focus on classic and modern Sonic gameplay. But is it so back-to-basics that it's devoid of Sonic's extended cast of characters? We asked director Hiroshi Miyamoto if Sonic's friends would show up in the new game.<br />
<br />
"We really wanted to encapsulate 20 years of Sonic characters," Miyamoto told Joystiq, "so we've got those really memorable bosses, we've got memorable rivals as well that you can play against; so far we've announced Metal Sonic and Shadow."<br />
<br />
In addition to those adversarial characters, "There's many friends in there as well." He added something that almost made us really scared: "We've tried to include as many friends as possible." Oh ...<br />
<br />
"They're not playable, but there are many friends." Oh!<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/15/dont-worry-many-of-sonics-friends-will-be-in-generations-b/">Don't worry, 'many' of Sonic's friends will be in Generations (but not playable)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 15 Sep 2011 10:30:00 EST. Sega has apparently joined the effort forged by Valve to change the rules of how long you can go between episodic releases, while still being allowed to call said releases "episodes." In a recent interview with <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-08-23-sonic-4-episode-ii-release-date-set-for-2012-article">Eurogamer</a>, Sonic Team's Takashi Iikuza talked about <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1"><em>Sonic 4</em></a>, explaining, "This year, 2011, is the anniversary, so we're focusing on the <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations">celebration title</a>." He later added, "But moving forward to 2012, Sonic will still be going, so I'd hope to provide <em>Episode 2</em> then."<br />
<br />
In other news, have you guys seen this new show, <em>Best Buds Living It Up In New York</em>? It's this great new NBC sitcom. The first episode aired last night, and the next episode is going to air in about eighteen months.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/23/sonic-4-episode-2-rolling-into-place-in-2012/">Sonic 4 Episode 2 rolling into place in 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 23 Aug 2011 14:45:00 EST. After so many disappointing <em>Sonic</em> games, Sega is picking a safer formula and remaking chunks of old <em>Sonic</em> games, almost pixel-by-pixel. At least, that appears to be the case in this <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> video from Gameswelt.tv. Behold: The Chemical Plant Zone (and City Escape, if you want something more modern).<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/08/sonic-generations-footage-chemical-plant-zone-and-city-escape/">Sonic Generations footage: Chemical Plant Zone and City Escape</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 08 Aug 2011 12:30:00 EST. Sega has revealed yet another all-too-familiar playground for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a>' twin Hedgehogs: the hazardous, pipe-permeated Chemical Plant Zone. Check out Sonic, Sonic and Metal Sonic's escapades in the new-old level in the gallery below!<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/sonic-generations-screens-visit-the-chemical-plant-zone/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Generations screens visit the Chemical Plant Zone</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/07/20/sonic-generations-screens-visit-the-chemical-plant-zone/">Sonic Generations screens visit the Chemical Plant Zone</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 20 Jul 2011 14:40:00 EST. We've recently seen some evidence of two Sega 3DS projects that have yet to be officially announced: a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/17/sonic-generations-listed-for-3ds-pc-in-earnings-report/">3DS (and PC) version</a> of <em>Sonic Generations</em>, and a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/24/resume-reveals-griptonite-working-on-shinobi-for-3ds/">new <em>Shinobi</em> game</a>. It turns out that the latest issue of Nintendo Power announces them both before Sega has a chance to fire up the press release machine.<br />
<br />
The cover of the June 2011 issue, as found on <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=431255">NeoGAF</a>, specifically notes that <em>Sonic Generations</em> "speeds onto the 3DS" just in time for the <em>sometimes</em> pudgy hedgehog's 20th anniversary. <em>Shinobi</em>, however, is only listed as a "classic revival."<br />
<br />
Additionally, a teaser of the forthcoming <em>Shinobi</em> game appears to have leaked on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly200T_o41A&amp;feature=player_embedded">YouTube</a>, posted yesterday by user "greatshow482" -- the user's only upload. Beyond affirming Griptonite Games as the developer, the teaser confirms a <em>Shinobi</em> game "re-imagined for the Nintendo 3DS."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/25/nintendo-power-cover-confirms-sonic-generations-3ds-new-shinobi/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Nintendo Power cover confirms Sonic Generations 3DS, new Shinobi</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/25/nintendo-power-cover-confirms-sonic-generations-3ds-new-shinobi/">Nintendo Power cover confirms Sonic Generations 3DS, new Shinobi</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 25 May 2011 10:09:00 EST. Though Sonic's new outing <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a> may still be a ways off, it looks like we may get an early double dose of hedgehog. Sega is planning to release a demo of the game, according to <a href="http://www.classification.gov.au/www/cob/find.nsf/3ee9cf339ddee09eca2575ca000be1e3/d437ba7b175c7225ca257888005d719a?OpenDocument">Australia's Classification Board</a>, which recently awarded the demo a family-friendly G rating.<br />
<br />
It would seem like good news for Sonic fans, though it's unusual for most game rating organizations to assign a rating to an individual demo. Ratings are usually reserved only for individual retail products. One possible implication is that the demo could (<em>could</em>, mind you) be a paid product of some sort, or perhaps bundled with an upcoming Sega game.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/06/sonic-generations-demo-classified-in-australia/">Sonic Generations demo classified in Australia</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 May 2011 18:28:00 EST. Didn't get your fix of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-generations"><em>Sonic Generations</em></a>' new school-meets-old school gameplay yet? Well, <em>junkie</em>, you can get your hands on even more of the platformer's expedient, multi-dimensional action in the video posted just after the jump.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/21/sonic-generations-footage-has-something-old-something-new-and/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Generations footage has something old, something new, and two blue things</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/21/sonic-generations-footage-has-something-old-something-new-and/">Sonic Generations footage has something old, something new, and two blue things</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 21 Apr 2011 13:00:00 EST. Sonic the Hedgehog may easily outrun a spring chicken, but he's not exactly "young" anymore. The blue dash turns 20 this year, having only lost weight with age; and to celebrate the big <em>two zero</em>, Sega is releasing <em>Sonic Generations</em> for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It's a full price retail game, coming this holiday, that pays homage to the storied history of Mr. the Hedgehog.<br />
<br />
Late last week I played through the first level of Sonic's cross-generational platformer on Xbox 360 -- a "reimagining" of Sonic's Green Hill Zone -- using both old (chubby) and new (skinny) Sonic. Here's how the pairing works: each level of <em>Sonic Generations</em> is playable with either character, and both offer different routes and perspectives.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/">Sonic Generations (first screens)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/#4068238"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/5681sonicgenerationslogoen-1303220496_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/#4068237"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/5679sonic-1303220495_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/#4068241"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/22798sgghzcl041_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/#4068242"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/22799sgghzcl071_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-generations/#4068243"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2011/04/22800sgghzcl161_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/18/sonic-generations-preview/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Generations preview: Chubby reign</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/04/18/sonic-generations-preview/">Sonic Generations preview: Chubby reign</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 18 Apr 2011 12:35:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Believe me, I'm as surprised about this as you are.</div>
<br />
Sega has shoved its mascot character into so many wretched games over the past dozen or so years that the phrase "good Sonic game" may as well be akin to saying "don't touch that fire; it'll freeze your hand." Yet here I am, trying to make the muscles in my hands type the words, "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-colors"><em>Sonic</em> ... <em>Colors</em></a> ... is ... is ... good." Not just good for Sonic, but <em>good </em>good.<br />

On paper, <em>Sonic Free Riders</em> probably sounded pretty cool. Actually, on second thought, it <em>probably</em> sounded like a cheap and easy way to make a Kinect launch game. I can see the instructions to the developer: "Hey guys, you know that third game in the universally panned <em>Sonic</em> <em>Riders </em>series that we shelved a few years back? Well, take it, make it work with Kinect just well enough to get past Microsoft, and get it out the door by November 4th. But don't, and we can't stress this enough, put any work into making it worthwhile."<br />
<br />
Or at least that's what one would imagine transpired after devoting, as I did, entirely too much time to this mind-numbing mess of a game.<br />

The ever increasing cavalcade of secondary characters in <em>Sonic the Hedgehog</em> is an often reviled issue. So, how do you keep Sonic interesting without adding another Big the Cat? Easy, in <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-colors"><em>Sonic Colors</em></a>, the blue blur actually transforms <em>into</em> other characters using Wisps. Sega is giving the people what they want. Sonic's lips are sewn together tightly, his pals have been laid to rest in a shoebox somewhere in the garden, and the world is nice and two-dimensional again. This is the 16-bit sequel you've been craving for sixteen bitter years, one that sidesteps every pitfall introduced in Sonic's 3D outings. Finally, the cycle is over!<br />
<br />
But there's a problem. If you've been on the verge of starvation for 16 years, you might be a tad too eager to swallow any crumb that's flicked your way. And if there's one thing that <em>Sonic the Hedgehog 4</em> is, it's crummy.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/13/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/10/13/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1-review/">Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 review: Spin-dashed hopes</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 13 Oct 2010 17:00:00 EST. We can all agree that <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-unleashed">Sonic Unleashed</a> </em>had some pretty deep lows -- specifically, the Werehog. But the daytime segments in the game showed promise; <em>almost</em> a return to form. These areas of the game, for the unaware, combined <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-adventure"><em>Sonic Adventure</em></a>-like 3D free-running elements alongside more classical, 2D elements from the series' past. It was easily the highlight of that game. <br />
<br />
And Sega knows it, which explains why <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-colors"><em>Sonic Colors</em></a> is pretty much nothing but those portions of gameplay. That alone would make for a pretty serviceable <em>Sonic</em> game, but Sega has also added Wisps: small alien creatures who imbue Sonic with one-time-use powers.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/">Sonic Colors (E3 2010)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/#3079658"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/soniccolors10_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/#3079659"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/soniccolors09_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/#3079662"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/soniccolors08_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/#3079664"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/soniccolors07_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/sonic-colors-e3-2010/#3079676"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/06/soniccolors05_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/05/sonic-colors-preview-wisp-you-were-here/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Sonic Colors preview: Wisp you were here</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/09/05/sonic-colors-preview-wisp-you-were-here/">Sonic Colors preview: Wisp you were here</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Sun, 05 Sep 2010 16:00:00 EST. Your next opportunity to feel pleasantly surprised or expectedly disappointed by Sega's azure mascot will come November 16, the <a href="http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2010/08/06/sonic-colors-gets-a-pack-front-release-date-and-new-trailer/">recently announced</a> release date for <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/sonic-colors"><em>Sonic Colors</em></a> on Wii and DS. We know you've been hurt so many times in the past, but we suggest watching the new trailer posted after the jump before deciding how you <em>really feel</em> about the Hedgehog's upcoming outing.<br />
<br />
Hey, at the very least, this one comes with a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/13/sonic-colors-pre-order-gamestop-bonus-is-this-sonic-hat/">special hat</a> for pre-orderers. Sega has announced that an update is now available for the Xbox 360 version of <em>Phantasy Star Universe</em> (the PS2 and PC versions are <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/26/pc-ps2-phantasy-star-universe-servers-closing-march-31/">kaput</a>, remember). Entitled "GUARDIANS Advanced Content," the update includes new items, new missions, a new character customization system and tweaks to existing classes and abilities. The update is free for all subscribers and will be applied automatically on login.<br />
<br />
Sega also reminded players that the <em>Phantasy Star Universe</em> expansion, <em>Ambitions of the Illuminus</em>, is now available <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/07/06/lots-of-older-xbox-live-marketplace-content-discounted/">free of charge</a>. Originally costing 800 MSP ($10), the expansion features its own set of additions including new weapons, locations, enemies and more. If you grab the update and the expansion and squint your eyes, you just <em>might</em> be able to trick yourself into thinking it's a <em>real</em> <em>Phantasy Star</em> sequel.<br />

There really isn't a lot to write about <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1"><em>Sonic the Hedgehog 4</em></a>. It's everything Sega promised it would be: just <em>Sonic</em> without all the cruft. I got to play through the game's Splash Hill Zone, and it's pure, unadulterated <em>Sonic the Hedgehog 2</em>, with a new coat of paint and a handful of new features. And there's no Tails, of course (<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/18/sega-sonic-is-the-only-playable-character-in-episode-1/">not in <em>Episode One</em> at least</a>). <br />
<br />
There are a few new wrinkles. Sonic has his homing attack from <em>Sonic Adventure</em>, for example. As with most of the 2D <em>Sonic </em>titles, there are also a few interesting locomotion mechanics sprinkled throughout the levels: vines to swing on, ziplines and, of course, the beloved corkscrews and loops.<br />

Visiting Sega's booth for a little hands-on time with <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sonic-the-hedgehog-4-episode-1">Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1</a></em>, a representative told us something that fans may find a little disconcerting. Someone asked the representative if Sonic was the only playable character, to which the rep replied that Sonic <em>is</em> the only playable character "in Episode 1." While he wouldn't confirm if future episodes will have other playable characters, he certainly hinted at the possibility.<br />
<br />
Consider our fingers crossed for Big the Cat.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/18/sega-sonic-is-the-only-playable-character-in-episode-1/">Sega: Sonic is the only playable character ... Dreamcast classic <em>Sonic Adventure</em> and its "director's cut" edition, <em>Sonic Adventure DX</em>, have been rated for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 by the <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/esrb">ESRB</a>. <em>Sonic Adventure</em> was recently classified by the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/01/sonic-adventure-crazy-taxi-submitted-to-korean-ratings-board-by/">Korean ratings board</a>, and briefly appeared in January in tandem with an "<a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/11/rumor-sonic-adventure-coming-to-xbla/">extend package</a>," purportedly seen on the Xbox marketplace.<br />
<br />
Sonic's companion on the great Sega ratings board journey, <em>Crazy Taxi</em>, has apparently not yet been re-classified for current consoles by the ESRB. We've followed up with Sega for details on both titles, but with E3 next week, the publisher likely wants it to be a "reveal" for the show. Start practicing your "we had no idea" face for the surprise next week.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/07/esrb-rates-sonic-adventure-and-dx-for-xbox-360-ps3/">ESRB rates Sonic Adventure (and DX) for Xbox 360, PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 07 Jun 2010 09:06:00 EST. Last September, <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/04/sega-hopes-to-activate-natal-sony-motion-plans-in-early-2010/">Sega promised to clue the world</a> into its plans for Project Natal and PlayStation Move in early 2010. Actually, back then, we were still calling it the PlayStation Motion Controller. Oh, so young and naive! Now that we and Sega are both a few months older and wiser, the latter's plans have been pushed back a bit -- in <a href="http://www.industrygamers.com/news/playstation-move-project-natal-to-attract-ps2-type-consumers-says-sega/">a recent interview with IndustryGamers</a>, Sega West president Mike Hayes explained that the company's Natal and Move plans would be revealed at <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/e3-2010">E3 2010</a>.<br />
<br />
Though we haven't heard much about Sega's feelings on the upcoming wave of new motion control technology, Hayes explained the company is excited about "the fact that Move and Natal will bring in more of what I'd call the PS2 type of consumer for those platforms, which then suits very much the IP that Sega has." We've hypothesized that the PS2 IP he's referring to is the already motion-infused <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/sega-does-what-nintendont-make-prototypes-for-project-natal-ga/"><em>Sega Super Stars</em></a> (pictured above) -- in our heart of hearts, though, we're secretly hoping for a motion-controlled <em>Ecco</em> <em>the Dolphin: Defender of the Future</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/04/22/sega-to-reveal-natal-move-projects-at-e3-suited-for-ps2-type/">Sega to reveal Natal, Move projects at E3 suited for 'PS2 type' audience</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 22 Apr 2010 09:45:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Adding to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/31/sonic-4-splash-hill-zone-video/">last week's leaked footage</a> of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic-the-hedgehog-4"><em>Sonic 4's</em></a> Splash Hill Zone is a new clip (embedded after the break) from the downloadable game's Lost Labyrinth Zone. There's more to be seen at <a href="http://tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=4AtXI6JI7G/u9zpA5xz3d4h4l5k2TGxc">the source</a>, but we singled out one clip in particular because it served as the best evidence that <em>Sonic 4 </em>really is drawing a lot of inspiration from the 16-bit era -- after all, how else would you explain a <em>mine cart level?</em> (In case you'd forgotten, they were outlawed by a U.N. resolution passed in 1998.)<br />
<br />
So hey, if some random people on the internet can get their hands on <em>Sonic 4</em>, it shouldn't be too long before we can, too. <em>Right?</em><br />

Feeling blue today? Maybe it's because you sensed that Sega was going to make your eyes tear up (in a good way) with these razor-sharp new <em><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic-the-hedgehog-4">Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1</a> </em>screenshots. Or maybe you're just down in the dumps; in which case, we're sorry to hear it -- and we <em>really hope</em> these screens cheer you up.<br />
<br />
The new images feature the <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/03/18/see-sonic-4s-splash-hill-zone-eggman/">already revealed</a> Splash Hill Zone, this time with Sonic racing through it at sunset. Of course, without any more information, we don't know if this is a later act in the stage, or if the time of day will change dynamically mid-level. We <em>can</em> tell you that we think the lighting looks great, even if Sonic's true blue coloring appears to be unaffected by it (probably due to a clause in his contract).<br />

Sonic may not team up with <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/01/15/sonics-pals-rejected-from-project-needlemouse/">other playable characters</a> in his upcoming downloadable adventure, but Sonic Team and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimps">Dimps</a> are combining forces to develop <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/tag/sonic-the-hedgehog-4"><em>Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1</em></a>. Sega today confirmed to Joystiq that the two developers are working together on the title, plainly stating, "<em>Sonic 4 Episode I</em> is being developed by Sonic Team in cooperation with Dimps." The question as to who is actually making the title for Sega was raised when <a href="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/offers/0bbf0002-0000-4000-8000-000058410a07">Xbox.com listed Dimps</a> as sole developer on the game's XBLA info page.<br />
<br />
This isn't the first time that Dimps has partnered with a well-known team to develop a game based on a classic franchise -- it worked with Capcom to create <em>Street Fighter IV</em> -- nor is it a stranger to the <em>Sonic </em>universe, having worked on the <em>Sonic Advance </em>series for GBA, <em>Sonic Rush </em>and its sequel for DS and level design for the Wii version of <em>Sonic Unleashed</em>.<br />

Despite a lazy jump animation, it actually looks like something that could satisfy those of us desperate for a genuine <em>Sonic</em> experience. Therefore, we predict either that this stuff is an elaborate fake, or that, after the first level, Robotnik freezes Sonic solid and you spend the rest of the game as Amy Rose dragging Sonic in a little red wagon. Those are the only ways we can reconcile what we see and what we know about <em>Sonic</em> games.<br />
<br />
Visible in both the video and the screens is a menu that reveals stages called the Splash Hill Zone, the Casino Street Zone, and the Mad Gear Zone (which probably isn't a <em>Final Fight</em> crossover), as well as a <em>Sonic 1</em>-style Special Stage. Check out the video after the break and face the terrifying proposition that you may become interested in a <em>Sonic</em> game.<br />
<br />
Frustratingly, this footage is as wobbly as all furtive "leaked" off-screen game footage is -- despite the fact that the person shooting it clearly had enough control to turn on the system and start the game on demand, suggesting that this wasn't a spur-of-the-moment video opportunity. Maybe the shaky-cam effect makes it look more like what people expect of a leak.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/16/rumor-sonic-4-screens-and-footage-leaked/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rumor: Sonic 4 screens and footage leaked</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/16/rumor-sonic-4-screens-and-footage-leaked/">Rumor: Sonic 4 screens and footage leaked</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 16 Feb 2010 18:30:00 EST. Sega, whose business is as much about publishing games as it is about <em>punishing Sonic fans without mercy</em>, has revealed in <a href="http://www.videogamer.com/wii/sonic_and_the_black_knight/preview-1531.html">an interview with Videogamer</a> that the future could feature more of <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/metareview-sonic-unleashed-360-vs-wii/">Sonic being a Werehog</a>. In discussing the possibility of Sonic's alter-ego emerging from his permanent residence in the clearance bin at your local Wal*Mart, Sega's Ketsui Tatano doesn't think "producing the Werehog was a mistake per se," but he does admit there "were a lot of things we could have done better if we had more time and resources." Then, he delivers this dark omen, saying that should Sega pursue a <em>Sonic Unleashed 2</em>, seeing the Werehog again is "a possibility."<br />
<br />
Oh yeah? Well, we can tell you where he <em>won't</em> be, should that dark future come to fruition: spinning inside of our console's disc drive.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/03/sega-might-not-be-done-with-sonic-the-werehog/">Sega might not be done with Sonic the Werehog</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 18:35:00 EST. Because you, the fans, <em>demanded</em> it, Sega is indeed <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/15/trying-to-be-nice-about-sonic-and-the-black-knight/">including some of Sonic's pals</a> in <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/15/sonic-and-the-black-knights-wi-fi-modes-explained/"><em>Sonic and the Black Knight</em></a>. Clearly the best part of any <em>Sonic</em> game is the supporting cast. The latest trailer features an <span style="font-style: italic;">epic</span> battle between Sonic and the fan-favorite <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaze_the_Cat">Blaze the Cat</a>, one of the more complex, multifaceted characters in the Sonic canon. In this game, Blaze plays the part of Percival, one of the Knights of the Round Table. She also fights with Sonic for some reason.<br /><br />The good news is that once you defeat her in the game's story mode, you can unlock Blaze, so you won't have to play through the whole <span style="font-style: italic;">Sonic</span> game as Sonic. <span style="font-style: italic;">Whew.</span><br /><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2009/02/18/new-trailer-for-sonic-and-the-black-knight-and-blaze-the-cat/">New trailer for Sonic and the Black Knight (and Blaze the Cat)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 18:00:00 EST.
