The coolest video you'll see this year
121
Sorry, but there's just no way we can't post this one because this video certainly deserves all the attention it can get. Set to Moby's Flower, 1K Project II is the result of 1,000 cars combined together in Trackmania. We're sure you'll end up watching this thing a few times just to soak it all in. Kudos to whoever put this together.

Pretty cool, I'll give you that...however, the coolest gaming-related video I've seen thus far remains the Coca Cola GTA-style commercial.
Sorry, guys.
On a related note, Trackmania looks fun. Too bad they went with that crappy Starforce protection. I'd sooner slam my wiener in a car door than put a Starforce-protected game on my pc.

mangrilla (#69):
You are my hero. You took the words right out of my mouth.
There are a lot more people whining about critics in here than anything else.
You know, "Gigli" took a long time to make too, and involved a hell of a lot more skill in editing and camerawork than this. Does that make it "art"?
Reminds me of this commercial I used to see sometimes for one of those technical schools; had a line that said "You too can learn the art of car repair!" So my roommate at the time turns and says to me "yeah, that'll get you into some SoHo galleries... 'Oh, what art do you practice?' 'Car repair.'"
Just because something's hard and takes a long time to do doesn't make it art. Repeat that, kids, and make it your mantra.
And neither does being positive all the time make you "mature". Adults need to learn to differentiate good things and bad things, and we also need to learn to both give and take criticism. It's how we improve ourselves as human beings.
So learn to deal with it. If you don't like the negative comments, you're just as free to ignore them as the haters are to take your invitation not to post in the first place. But some of you guys are definitely going to need a thicker skin or you're just never going to go anywhere in life. If you're going to create something, people are going to rip it apart and there's nothing you can do about it other than *making your next project better*.

I'm amazed by the number of haters on this thread. I watched it three times and I have no experience on Trackmania. Considering that it's 1000 replays together really brings out an organic feel to the video, in the sense that all the cars are going to the same place but with infinite possibilities. Or at least a thousand of them.
It's a beautiful piece, and thank God they picked a good piece of music instead of that god-awful modern rock crap on all the "LOL pwned" videos.
Pretentious maybe, but I think it's a damn cool video.

it was like watching a the bloodstream, represented by cars of two colors, the yellow being the red blood cells, while the white being... well, the white blood cells. I personally thought it was neat.
...actually, it was like watching the bloodstream represented by cars acting like lemmmings.
...yes, lemmings.

T-bag, you're the coolest, man.

people need to get a grip. opinions are opinions, and everyone's got one...even if they are wilted and useless.
and I may be a better person for watching this video. inspirato.
"dude, it didn't have collision physics."
"dude, it didn't have someone getting pWneD."
"dude, i'm not a douche am I?"

I'm sorry, but videos really need to cut out the extended credits. It makes the video creators seem a bit full of themselves. Maybe put them at the end, but not the beginning. It's just a damn video game video.

That was amazing, u haterers can't even animate a flipbook, yet want to break down someone's creative work.
DAMN...
I hate on Moby all the time, but that was incredible.
The ONLY thing that it needs to elevate it to immortality would be collision detection, but I am assuming it is multiple ghost runs...

You gotta love what some people can do with TrackMania Sunrise. Most of you should play this game before giving it crap, try out TrackMania Nations, it's a full game and it's free to download and play from www.trackmanianations.com. Great people and some very nice tracks made by people all across the world, the game simply rocks.

Yeah, this video would be cool as hell... If I were high. I was cool for the first 30 seconds, and then it was too repetitive.

Awesome video, fun to watch.
@Moogle
I wouldn't reccomend turning your javascript off if you want to see embedded content, it's going to be a de facto requirement once MS launches their new craptastic version of Internet Explorer.

Its really refreshing to see a video like this... for thouse of you whining about this or that... this is a form of art. The music complamented the video. It gave it a totally laid back like Im watching a river flow by on a nice afternoon sunset fealling.... truly a great video.

I saw a commercial for Attack of the Show where they were showing off this vid and what it accomplished. And I have to admit, I'm glad I saw it.
It is a beautiful work of art. Seeing that many cars moving at once, making their leaps and bounds and then rejoining the main stream of other cars.
On a technical level, the car physics probably would have just ruined the entire experience and left it as a cluttered mess. Then again, maybe that's something for a different movie that someone else could put their hard work and effort into (*nudges the nay-sayers*).
Ultimately, a great vid and well worth watching. MAKE MORE!!! *grins*

I will dream of this.
Nightmares. Hundreds of yellow cars, horseless chariots, rushing straight at me, while I retreat slowly, ever so slowly. They will crash, over and over, but they will not break, they will not shatter, they will not bruise. They rain from the sky like golden tears, damned to that hellish circuit for all eternity by some mephitic master, watched by a pack of gibbering harridans staring at glowing tubes in darkened rooms, their eyes blank, their collective cacophony immense, all trying to outdo one another in volume.
Oh yes. There will be dreams.

Reminded me VERY much of that Sony Bravia commercial with al the balls bouncing down the street. I hate that song, so I muted it and played the song from the ad in the background - Heartbeats by Jose Gonzales. MUCH better :)
