European launch of PlayStation 3 delayed until March 2007

^THAT is why you guys are complicated. they had to change the entire package of the DS to fit THAT monstrosity, i can only image what its like with the behemoth known as PS3.

Yeah, because its crazy for a first world nation to expect properly earthed electrical products. You'll be the first ones moaning when all your PS3's get fried, I wonder what the 360's failure rate was in the UK compared to the US?.

This bad publicity is just too much now!!!

When are Sony PR going to start putting some positive spin on all this??? Now, I don't mean the obvious lies that they have been spewing lately!

Check these Sony claims out:

* 120 frames per second gameplay - Yeah Right. So why is Resistance only doing 30fps?

* 2 HDMI sockets - Really? Erm, The low-cost version doesn't even have none!

* 7 Controller ports - Some dumbos actually believed this.

* 4D Gameplay - enough said

* Renders of Games passed as in-game graphics. Warhawk, Motorstorm etc.

* Their "revolutionary" controller from 11 years ago WITH NO Rumble

* Oh, they also lied to us that the rumble was removed Because it interfered with the motion sensors - Sony, we read the NEWS and know of a certain lawsuit, you know? Don't insult our intelligence!

* Spring 06 Launch - Liars, Liars Pants on fire!!! They haven't even starter production as of September!!!

* Emotion engine?, anyone? The only emotion I had was from the Disc not read error!

Sony has lost it's credibility as far the PS3 is concerned.

Its pretty obvious that even the Sony fanboys KNEW that the PS3 wouldnt launch before 2007 in PAL territories, so is Sony just genuinely retarded in proclaiming a World Wide Launch AND start manufacturing PS3s that the latest minute possible? Really, why would anyone have consumer faith in a company like that. *snicker-choke-cough*

This is wonderful. I for one am sick of the lies that Sony has been spreading and now they finally had to retract/reclarify their statements. Let this be a lesson to them. Consumers don't want to pay outrageous prices for DRM'd crap that only seeks to benefit the creator. They want entertainment. They want games. They don't want hype and non-events.

first off, to whoever said 360 only has FPS...NO!!

battle for middle earth 2 is a surprisingly good RTS, and not just for a console, but a genuinely good game.

oblivion is one of the greatest rpg's EVER made. and thats not fan boy talk.

gears of war will be THIRD person.

GRAW is First person in multi-player, but im assuming a lot of people prefer 3rd person mode in campaign.

and they have plenty of other solid games coming out.

now...to ps3...

this really sucks for the europeans who were planning on buying one. i had/have no intent of buying one, but for those who were this sucks to get FUCKED by sony yet again.

and the release numbers...i REALLY wanna go buy 2 PS3s to ebay at release...but i dont have that much money...ahhhhhh!!

see, im only 16, and getting minimum wage...this is tough...

...maybe i can convince my less than rich parents to buy a couple and tell em we could make 1-3 thousand dollars...

and i am unsure about the european market...how did the original xbox do there, and how is the 360 doing there?

if its doing even alright at this time, i think this will REALLY help 360. and the wii of course. we all know that.

they will get a lot of press at release in the US and japan over how many people are trying to get them, but i do agree that they may get some bad press for it being 600 dollars, and it might make gamers look bad. i personally feel that when they are talking on the news about people waiting in line for hours to get the new system despite it being 600 dollars...

Haha that what Europe gets fir having such a complicated electric output....I mean come on North America finally gets something better than Europe the PS3....Sony alwyas gives Europe different color PS2's all we get is black no fair now finally we get there next gen system almost a year before they do, plus Japan and North America have the same blu ray format region a but hey it does not matter to me though I wont see a PS3 in my room til may 21, 2007 unless I get straight A's lol

March '07, that's 7 months from now, it's going to have a huge initial price, low amount of quality games, limited stock and likelihood of a bug or two. By then the 360 will probably have a reduced price, probably Halo 3, decent Live setup and will have ironed the bugs out.

I think my excitement for PS3 just took a knock.

I was always going to wait for the initial PS3 price to drop but that could be March '08 and thats far too long away for this casual gamer. Picking up a 360 now seems the better option.

Definetively there are no way for PS3 and Blu-Ray in Europe.

I think what REALLY bothers a lot of people is the cockiness Sony came out here with.

They piss-talked the idea of the Wii controller & then come out with a similar (but halfway...halfassed?) one.

They talked about competition in rear view mirrors based on the PS2's market dominance & now they seem to be choking on exhaust. From 360 & ESPECIALLY with that infamous Wii stampede past the Sony booth at the final E3 this year.

They trash-talked about XBox 360's product plans with double version systems & then come out & do the exact same thing.

And even through all of the historic copying & assimilation of other companies' innovations they have the nerve to come out here talking about how Microsoft copies THEM?! Then the rip the XBox Live Achievements idea calling it Entitlements. They must have lost their nerve after E3 'cause I thought sure they'd put Nintendo in that "copy Sony" box which REALLY woulda had the hotlines burning.

It's just too much to mention. I'm not gonna go into the individual comments from the execs & what not.
They're drunk on their own power.
It's the Roman Empire effect.

It's gonna be their downfall.
And some people may not mind that happening from a company this arrogant & dismissive of the wants & needs of its consumer base or potential consumer base.

More than the seeming incompetence it's really the company's public arrogance that rubs people the wrong way.

I only hope this is not an agreement with major game companies that asked for a couple of months more to increase the sales of their lately released PS2 games...
