Matter of fact, the Wii games actually could work on a Gamecube if it supported supported the larger Wii disk and the Wiimote.

Now, Deus Ex IW, Headhunter, Gun Valkyrie, MGS 2, Psi-Ops, Oddworld Strangers Wraith and MC3 and I'll be happy MS.

As for the PS3 software BC, it's excellent, and I've not had to worry about the random crashes that happen with 360 BC(it's already happened to me with PGR2).

oh and Ska Oreo you're an awful troll yourself, you c_nt.

Holy hell. The Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT updates made the double pack of those compatible. I'm playing it right now. That's awesome. That's the last original Xbox game I had that wasn't compatible.

Thank God, I have the double pack, too, and I was hoping it would work. Updating now.

If I update through Xbox Live by putting the disc in and asking for the update, will it update the whole thing, or just that game?

While this claims to be a post about 360 backward-compatibility, the second paragraph of this post goes way out of the way to talk about the PS3, including as many links about the PS3 and a final paranoid sentence about how you should buy a current PS3 if you're worried about compatibility. Focus please!

Usually people have a problem with the PS3's BC because they boasted heavily that they'd have near 100% support and now they are changing things.

It's especially worse in Europe, you didn't get the chance to buy the "old" PS3 with the hardware built in. Plus you were subjected to a lengthy delay and a higher price.

On the other hand, Microsoft kept backwards compatibility quieter and didn't claim that it was a huge deal. If they had boasted anything more than "the most popular Xbox games will work on Xbox 360" then there would be a genuine need to lash out.

Nintendo has it easy, the hardware is essentially the same. "Backwards" Compatibility is therefore a LOT easier (as shown by the early PS3 models).

It would be easyer for us if they put a cartidge port in the Wii that accepted N64, SNES and NES games carts. They could have spent the extra money they should have spent developing NEW hardware on an all-in-one Nintendo machine of the past chip and stuck it in the Wii. But instead they chose to rape the ass off everyone with the Gamecube 1.5 and "Virtual Console". You can pick up most of the VC games FAR cheaper on ebay as REAL carts.

Still no Chronicles of Riddick.

They are skipping so many really awesome games I want to play.

The reason why Chronicles of Riddick is not playable on the 360 is because Starbreeze is coming out with a 360 remake.

They have Kingdom Under Fire the crusaders but NOT, it seems, the sequel; Heroes. Logic MS, do you speak it?

Still, glad to know they're adding games to the list, despite it being the worst backwards compatability list out of all three consoles.

Oh, and Rubang B? I find it cute that you forgot to mention the Gamecube in your list. It wasn't like the N64 was backwards compatable or anything either. True, Nintendos been doing it since 1998, but they never did it with their last 2 consoles (GC and N64). I love Nintendo, but they're not saints when it comes to home console backwards compatibility.

Thank god NCAA 06 is finally on there! Texas vs. USC rematch here I come. Where the eff is Marvel Ultimate Alliance? It would be nice to actually get to play that since my Xbox broke down a month after I bought it.
