comparing this trivial nonsense to "irish need not apply" signs or anti-women, anti-black, anti-minority hiring practices is absolutely insulting and immature. it's disgusting that this story is even seen worthy to write about. this columnist is supposed to be law-savy, and yet the word 'frivolous' doesn't appear once to describe this joke? bull****.

I was denied a job with UPS due to my Type 1 Diabetes. My CONTROLLED Type 1 Diabetes. But since the State of Ohio denied my right to work and not UPS I'm pretty screwed. Not hiring someone because of WoW seems a lil odd.

It amazes me how out of control this "story" has gotten. Has anybody read the forum post this originated in? Not the GamePolitics article, but the original F13.net forum thread.

Fascinating....

This story has almost reached Snopes.com status. Did Mark Methenitis even get in touch with the original source?

What I'm concerned about is that, WoW is a game geared almost specifically towards those with an addictive personality. I, personally, know of two people that have seriously screwed themselves because the game took priority in their lives. One of them actually got fired and the other is doing everything he possibly can to fix the damage (first step being that he sold his character and account and stopped associating with the people he knew that are as hard-core into it as he was). I'm not saying that all WoW players are hyper-fanatic addicts, but it does bear some consideration when you think about how much a--let's admitt it--silly game has taken over some peoples lives. I've heard of divorces and child custody loss as well as health declinations associated with a number of people that decided that pharming and going for that Epic Mount meant more to them than those people and things that had once stood in it's place.
