Silly for Sony to say they are not working on one, I really find that hard to believe. So they are going to keep the original PSP around forever? I am sure someday they will make another one and I find it really difficult to believe they are not at least kicking around ideas.

Gotta love catfights.

And about time someone told IGN a thing or two.

This is getting a little bit out of hand! Those quoted responses are based on remarks made in jest on one of IGN's podcast which I listen to on a regular basis. It was all sarcasm from one of their editors in response to how a PSP2 could be better than it's predecessor.

Nice come back Sony :D Bout time a company said it as it is, even if it is rather unprofessional. Lol

God damnit. I don't want to waste my precious baby rhino horn on the new PSP, how the hell am I going to power my jetpack?

Looks like Sony reps love to blow things completely out of proportion. Baby rhino horns? Time travel? Was that honestly supposed to be funny? The feature set that IGN described made perfect sense and was hardly as outlandish as this childish rep's comments would seem to indicate; touch control and nationwide online networking are both perfectly feasible features for a handheld and, should a successor to Sony's PSP emerge, the inclusion of these features would be a bygone conclusion.

IGN has been embarrassingly obvious about their dislike of Sony as of late. Several articles have been written in the past few months about how the PS3 is dying, a comparison between the PSP and the iPhone, and a bogus comparison between the 360 and Bluray players. Not only is IGN mediocre in their gaming articles, the other areas of the site are almost completely worthless.

Wow, IGN is not the same site it was even a few years ago.

All they seem to offer are countdown and top "whatever" lists, "daily babe" articles and unfounded rumours just to draw in some traffic. It's pretty sad.

I hope Joystiq never stoops that low.

is that an actual quote or are you joking? i like their products a lot, but that's extremely unprofessional and a childish thing to say.

It certainly would be quite the coup if IGN was proved correct with these rumors. Then we could have more proof that whenever Sony denies something, its guaranteed to be true.

Besides for maybe the touchscreen, I don't see how anything that IGN said was "nonsense." It all sounds like good features that SHOULD be in the PSP 2, not just a screen that is more vibrant and weighs three ounces less. So I don't know why Sony is getting all pissy with IGN about predicting some good features that the PSP 2 should have, unless they are just mad at IGN for possibly ruining the surprise.

Sony denials of anything from upcoming products to price cuts shouldn't even be reported on. They mean nothing, especially after that whole deny the pricecut and then cut the price the very next day thing that happened.

Hey there -- the Joystiq article is ignoring an important factor. It's not SONY that denied rumors. MCV cited an anonymous source "close to Sony." The proof will be in the pudding.

Could someone explain what makes rumors so bad? Why do developers/companies always get so mad over them?

Um misleading article much? Go read the source.. this is not an official statement from Sony but rather MCVUK's "source close to Sony."

Ahem.. speaking of credible gaming press?
I call for a retraction and alteration of your headline!

BTW.. I would never be embarrassed of that quote.. that quote is awesomeness.
Should have been a dead giveaway that this wasn't actually a statement from Sony.

Actually if you read the article, looks like Sony itself didn't say that, but a "source close to Sony."

I thought it was weird. Usually companies in general know how to be more subtle than a bitchslap a la master hand.

Kaz on one knee PSP in hand in front of countless hoards of ravenous Nintendo fanboys and misinformed casual gamers all led by the God-King Miyamoto. And now as then it's not fear that grips him. Only restlesness A heightened sense of things. The steady breathing of a handful of first party developers at his back. Ready to go bankrupt for him without a moment's pause His PS2 was stifling. It narrowed his vision. And he must see far. His PS3 was heavy. It threw him off balance. And his target is far away This is Living!!!

Loser,

300 references are tired,
Try coming up with something fresh.

How about talking how Kaz makes a pencil disappear, or use some other lame reference from a movie that might have come out in the last year or so.

I'm not surprised you can't think of anything more original than to post lines directly from the movie you and your little tween buddies watch when you stroke off together, hell, you can barely keep your posts in the right topic.

you have a lot to learn before you'd even be considered a troll.

I would buy a handheld that allowed you to teleport across the globe and travel through time, even if it WAS powered by the horns of baby rhinoceroses.
