A 15 level campaign is way too short, it should have been 25 levels.

Seriously...I have never heard more idiotic comments on a topic. I can't even begin to explain why...I would be here all day. It just amazes me how retarded people are in this country...

"For one, the game is screaming for a Covenant campaign."

I smell future DLC.

It sounds like the first review was written by a Halo fan, and the second was written by an RTS fan. Which is perfect, because that covers the demographic down to a T. Considering neither review said the game was bad, it must be pretty good!

I do have to point out a couple things about branding here though. I do agree that if this was a generic FPS, not created for the Halo universe, it wouldn't get all of this attention, or the sales it's certain to acheive. I don't really see this as a bad thing for once though; this game will get tons of kids who would normall scoff at any random RTS title into a totally new genre.

Though I've never been much of a Halo fan (no hate guys, only love

I figured it out... I tried to do a little heart, ya know, the less than symbol follwed by a 3, and it cuts the comment out as if it were an HTML tag or something. Perhaps I should report it as a bug to Joystiq? Seriously, the one little symbol that is supposed to show everyone that I'm not a dreaded fanboy coming in to destroy worlds and create hate, and it breaks my comment! I'll try one last time:

Though I've never been much of a Halo fan (no hate guys, only love! *heat symbol!*), I thought this idea was awesome from the start. The idea of getting another title in the universe of your favorite franchise that delves into a new genre (for said franchise) is really very cool. Maybe you'll see a Halo RPG next! :)

I think players who play this game as a casual game, and forget about what a RTS is on the PC, will be very pleased with this game. Its simplicity is good. Less is more with this game. So yeah, you don't get the hardcore PC commands, or the hardcore Starcraft-perfect level designs, or the hardcore RTS tech trees, or the hardcore micro/macro skills, or some hardcore strats (resource vs harrass), but you do get accessibility through casual controls, casual strategies (rock paper scissors basically), casual RTS foundations, and casual instant gratification. Halo Wars define its own genre by creating the first accessible casual RTS. I think that's a good thing, as long as the hardcore gamers treat it that way (similar to how Little Big Planet created the casual platformer genre).
