I heard that in Resident Evil 6, running, reloading and shooting are going to be DLC for a small fee, and if the customers don't like it, they can play the game without it ;).

Well, I was going to purchase this tonight. However, I hate when companies nickel and dime me for small shit. Release it a month later with Versus.

Oh well, they lost my $60. Just downloaded and burned a copy. SUCK IT

Good going. Screw these game companies. I downloaded Street Fighter IV too. So DLC becomes a none issue when you're not really paying for the game anyways :) So thanks Sven I called BS on your BS only I'm still going to buy the $5 pack just not the $60 game, I WIN!

Wow...

I understand Capcom wanted to make a little more of a profit for a new game mode. That IMO should be free. But nickle and diming people seems to be their business plan. Cool with me. I would NEVER buy it.

But, comments from a VP of a company saying that VALID CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS are (essentially) 'BS' is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I was going to break down and buy this game. But after this, I will wait until my cousin DLs it on his 'unlocked' Xbox 360... I will just play with him.
Someone who cares so little for his customers, does not deserve any.

You heard the man.
Don't buy it.
It's probably not worth the $5 anyway, I've never wanted to play any RE game in multiplayer.

Jon - what is in your comment that is worth noting? Yeah you say you love DLC but yet you still complain about being charged. Yes I am bitching, about you guys bitching about having to pay for something - I will with out a doubt purchase their DLC, I don't care one bit they are charging.

Think of it like this, you go to buy a car, you read the description and it says it comes with 2 tires that's it - when you buy the car are you going to be pissed off? Well if you have any sense you would have read the ad about the car and saw that it said "only 2 tires" - do you have the right to bitch that you now have to go and buy 2 more tires after it clearly said "ONLY 2 TIRES"??

Read the back of the box you bought that had the game inside people. SHOT SHIT SICKLES BATMAN!! It says 2 players! So you bought a game that clearly says 2 players, that's what it was made for. . yet you have the right to bitch about them charging for a DLC, which they might had planned to put in the game but didn't so they can make some extra cash? What if the guy that sold you the car with two tires did it on purpose only to turn around and say, oh yeah i got two more tires in the back, i can sell them too you too - guess what too damn bad.

Wasn't trying to pick on you jon you were just the last post I read until I was fed up with the complaining.

Avada, unfortunately I think you're missing my point still. I'm not concerned about charging for DLC, I'm completely for it. I enjoy the DLC put out by Bethesda, Valve, Bungie, BioWare, and have purchase dozens and dozens of map-packs, add-ons, etc. What I'm concerned about is what the developers/publishers are capable of charging for.

I understand completely that what I purchased is what I read on the box.

However, what if ALL new cars came with only 2 tires at the same price and required you to purchase two more tires to even drive the car off the lot?

I'm afraid of developers/publishers exploiting DLC, as the afore mentioned car manufacturer did with their new "Tire Upgrage" purchasing plan. I just don't want these DLC practices (SFIV costumes, EA gun unlock, MP modes) to become the norm.

Valve, Bungie, and other companies have been more open and honest about their DLC. Should things continue like this unchecked by the consumers then soon we could be purchasing only a portion of a game on a disc and the ending via DLC.

I agree that some people have resorted to "bitching" and "whining" but hopefully you will see my argument more objectively.

Avada, your example couldn't be any more perfect to go against your point.

Why DON'T car companies sell you two-tire cars and charge extra for a full, four-tire set? BECAUSE IT WOULD PISS OFF CUSTOMERS!

What customer would look at a car with only two tires, while ALL OTHER CAR DEALERS are selling cars with FOUR tires and think, "damn! I'm gonna get me that two-tire car so I can pay extra for something that should have been on my car to begin with!"

Everyone arguing about the charged DLC is basically saying that it should have been a feature implemented into the game already, and not charged as extra, which I agree. If the added content contained new weapons, new characters, new story, new maps, new ANYTHING other than modes, I would hold back on calling it a "rip-off" and a "money-grab." But, considering all the evidence against it, I would call this both a ripoff and moneygrab just like a car dealer trying to sell a car with two-tires and a "tire plan" to add more with an added cost.

A more apt example would be a car that comes without A/C. A/C is not a necessity so it makes sense to charge extra for it. An example of this comparison would be a map pack, it's not necessary to play, but the added maps add value to your multiplayer experience. However, this is not an "addition" it is an essential download to play the modes.

I think Capcom would have been wiser to simply add a "Mercenary Pack" DLC, where you get four new characters to play the mercenary mode with. That way, it's added content, and not charging money to play a different game mode.

Well, I can't wait for RE5. Hopefully it won't be too much like the others, which I do not think will be the case. Really, I don't think that multiplayer will be that bad. I don't know what they are complaining about, considering it's only been out a few days. But anyways I got it for free so it doesn't really matter if I like it or not. You can get it free too by going to http://www.awesomefreeprizes.tk.

SORRY CRISTIAN but if u think this title is worth $60 the way it stands u are sadly mistaken.I have completed the game & will rate it as "rent only". This game has very little replayability! Dlc is 4 extending the life of the game not 2 give it one. So dont worry cristian i will not be purchasing it & supporting developers in double charging 4 a complete experience .

I beat it earlier this morning. I didn't buy it thankfully and probably won't. I agree with the rent only. I played with a friend, meh. If he wasn't there I probably would've taken it back sooner. I also just happened to rent SFIV which I was going to buy for sure until I seen what they did with the costume packs. I'll purchase it like a year from now when its around 25 dollars but that ticked me off more than anything else.

I have no problem paying for DLC but this doesn't classify as that in my book. This is locked content that you have to pay extra for to get the full game. This came out at release and isn't trivial things like "outfits". It was a planned feature that was locked out. Just because they didn't include the files on the disk doesn't mean it's not part of the game. To me "It wasn't in the budget" doesn't fly as an excuse.

Let's call this what it is: this is the first step towards locking out content to ensure developers get their money from gamers buying used games, or borrowing or renting them.

As Svensson said, Don't like it, don't buy it. So true, so true. I'm having a blast killing zombies all night long.......playing Left 4 Dead.
