What I hated about the franchise was it kept rehashing the same fighting games over and over and not exspanding on the story. I would have loved for a series of alternate storyline games based on anyone but Goku. A sports games, DBZ soccer, Action adventure plat former. Something fresh.

Your suggestion of DBZ soccer reminds me of Megaman soccer. A completely unrelated game to the DBZ universe, but with awesome finishing soccer moves. I could definitely see that...

In other words, make games for the Wii like Mario and Sonic.

"Something fresh."

Those types of games would be fresh alright. Milk is fresh.

They need to take a leaf from TMNT's book, and re-adapt this franchise to be something closer to Smash Bros.

I mean, DBZ as fighting games never made much sense, because you could, like any fighting game, finish someone off with a bogus attack, which never would fly in the DBZ world (where finishers always had to be something grand and over-the-top).

A Smash-Bros sort of system, whereby the more damage you take the easier you are to kill, but there is no fixed point, would be more realistic to the franchise. EIther that or something ripped from Mortal Kombat

The Jump! series maybe? Its not exclusively DB(Z) but its pretty much what you're talking about, considering its basically an anime SSB for the DS.

The Jump series is incredible, it's just a shame all the ridiculous licensing mish-mash is keeping it from being translated into English.

Awesome. Confirmation on a localization of Attack of the Saiyans. Don't look away from this just because its a DBZ game. This is atleast worth a watch if you're any kind of RPG fan.

Atari died in the 80's when some "genius" decided to split the company in to two.

Speaking of which, you're up with a Dynasty Warriors/Dragon Ball crossover?

I wish they would bring back Brian Drummond and Scott McNeil to voice Dragonball Z again. They're two of my favorite voice actors and made a huge impact on original series. Not to mention the famous "over 9000" quote.

I liked Tenkaichi 2... Though Vegeta's Big Bang was so much better in Budokai 3. On that note, techically, Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is already in development. Dragon Ball Z: Raging Blast, I believe was announced already by Namco-Bandai in May.

Yeah, I agree, Budokai was so much better.

It was a pain to play the Burst Limit demo, I almost couldn't believe what they had done to the series.

I recently learned that the Dragonball franchise is a multi-billion dollar earning franchise. Pretty impressive considering it was just a simple cartoon about a guy shooting fireballs.

In my mind the only awesome dbz fighting games, where the budokai series, infinity world was pretty good, but was the end of the original budokai series :< , plus it had shitty fly through rings levels that pissed people off. Tenkaichi 2 was pretty good (especially wii version), and so was burst limit, but a lot of other dbz fighting games sucked, Legacy of goku/ buu's fury was a good series but not a fighting game.

Remember doing the old Dragonball Z videos created from clips of the show? Still my favorite one I had done to date. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1220831213212852224&ei=hpJTSqKXKMHYlQex-8yrDg&q=dragonball+z+netapex&hl=en
