I agree. A terrific sequel. Throw in some RPG elements and light inventory management and its a great shooter/RPG hybrid.

"...and no weapons that fall apart after use"

Nobody complained about Far Cry 2, or s this silly amounts of breakage?

I thought Far Cry 2 was OK, but about 30% of the way into the game, it felt more like work than fun.

The breakage in FC2 wasn't really that bad in comparison. In the original CoJ the weapons broke on you all the time, and there was no way of getting a new weapon and not a weapon that was on the ground and already about to break.

In FC2, you can always go back and get a new weapon in between missions, and the breaking weapons penalty wasn't really all too present. Virtually, that mechanic in FC2 was a penalty to not buying your own weapons and relying on what the enemy has and in the end it isn't that bad of a drawback if you do get your own weapons.

I happened to accidentally be in Rogers Video the day it came out and I picked it up. It was a cool game, but at the same time I miss some of the elements the old game had. I immediately disliked all the main characters in it, so that basically made the story inconsequential to me. but what's with all the fake doors? I was spending literally ten minutes looking for the one out of the ten doors that was unlocked. Also, the game is 90% easier if you play as ray as opposed to thomas.

I love this game. I don't care what any of the reviews say.

It's golden goodness. =)

It's not a perfect game, but there's room to make it even better than this outing. Be it this storyline or a completely new one.

I wonder what Red Dead Revolver will do for the western genre. Looking forward to that one, hopefully in incorporates the elements that worked for COJ.

im worried about Red Dead, the game informer story said it's set in the early 1900s, i think i prefer the "couple years after the civil war" stuff better.

Sir,

The "murder your darlings" quote is properly attributed to Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch in his work "On Style", not William Faulkner (despite that you may find this inaccurately sourced all over the internet).

I'm not a fan of FPSs unless they do something completely different, and this ones looks like a solid game in a different setting that almost every shooter made. I'd rather have Red Dead Redemption in my hands, but Call of Juarez looks like a good rental for a fun weekend.

I really liked Gun (you know that ol' game) and have been waiting for a sequel. Probably never gonna happen.

Can ne1 who has played this tell me, if I loved Gun, will I like this?

It is not as good as Gun, but it's still pretty good.

You can always rent it and beat it in about 5-6 hours.

Gotta say, only major disappointment from the game was the lack of 2 player co-op. I mean c'mon, it would have been PERFECT for this game :(

Just picked up my copy after hearing Justin rave about the game on the latest podcast and reading his review. Here's hoping I can get some good spaghetti action till Red Dead Redemption hits :)
