Should there not be a general rule that if you are buying Forza 3 and have never heard of the Veron then you shouldn't be allowed to?

Sweet car though. Saw one being ragged around Spa Francochamps.

This car can only run for 12 minutes at top speed before its entire tank of gas is used. I heard it can go from 0-60 in like 2 1/2 seconds.

Yeah, 12 minutes and 100 litres of premium fuel later. But how much fun would that 12 minutes be!

I remembered how people were concerned about the tires on the car because they were afraid the high speeds that the car could reach would melt the tires and make them fail too fast. In their defense, Bugatti simply said, "Well, the tires take about 55 minutes to fail at the speeds this car can go, yet the tank will only last about 15 minutes. So no worries guys :)" They didn't say it quite like that, but it's close enough

"As the Bugatti Veyron approached the top speed during the test, May said that "the tyres will only last for about fifteen minutes, but it's okay because the fuel runs out in twelve minutes"."

I'm glad this is in the game. I can't wait to see how it handles. It'll probably be one of the hardest cars in the game.

In all seriousness, only the rich can can get away with driving a car that gets 3 mpg. Be sure and use only 1 sheet of toilet paper people, so al gore can keep flying his private jet and keep his 10 mansions heated.

3 mpg is only at max acceleration/top speed. though city/highway isn't much better, those are 7 and 12 mpg, respectively.

That's a modern marvel of automobiling right there.

I'm also amazed how they map the wire image of the car into their computer. I know that's gotta be tedious and I applaud their efforts.

Ok that's awesome. I remember watching it on Top Gear awhile back, the Veyron is just insane. And this is incredible its going to be in the game.

I haven't played a racing sim for a long time...this however, has sparked my interest...

You guys say it's $1.4 million, but the link you gave to your "sister site" says $2.24M.

That's quite a difference.

Can't afford. I'm destitute. Down to my last million.

Fastest production car in the world?

I'll be over here in my faster, cheaper, and sleeker Aero.

Blah. The SSC Aero is an ugly POS in comparison to the Veyron.

Although (marginally) faster, it's designed and built like a Swatch, as compared to the Veyron's genuine Swiss watch level of quality and worksmanship. There's no comparison between the two, really. One's a premium, cutting-edge automobile in every respect, the other was made to go faster than the Veyron.

For example, how long do you think the engine/transmission's going to last in a SSC or a Koenigsegg for example, considering these cars use tweaked-out stock parts? Only the Veyron's drivetrain has been built from the ground up with a 1000HP powerplant in mind, to run for hundreds of thousands of kilometers of hard driving. Only the Veyron feature extensive diagnostics and safety features for the engine to prevent damage from low octane fuels, over-revving, oil pressure and many other things. You can't break that engine, as a driver. The engine control computers will either throttle its power output or shut it off before you cause any damage.

A faster care is not necessarily a better car. The Aero may be a few mph faster than the Veyron but the Veyron is superior in every other respect.

Besides, the Veyron is unique and has class, the Aero is faster but it just looks like a 13 year olds wet dream, and you'd look like a douchebag driving one.

The Bugatti Veyron goes from 0 - 60 in 2.5 seconds, a full second faster than the Pagani Zonda Roadster F .. shockingly the Zonda beat the Veyron buy a full second for an actual lap time.

Google the Pagani if you haven't heard of that, crossing fingers that car is in the game too!

Cheers man. The Pagani Zonda is my favourite car. It's amazing. I love the lines in it. And it's just like a race car. Actually, I can't believe it did that well against the Veyron, which is pretty amazing. But, it is one of the fastest on the planet. The Bugatti is just beyond reason though.

The Veyron is actually 1001 horsepower and you have to turn a 2nd key to unleash 501 of it :P

No. it's 987HP. It's 1001 PS (metric horsepower). The values are very close, so they are usually interchangeable. Also the key doesn't change the performance of the engine. It deactivates some of the aerodynamics, which allows for a higher top speed, by lowering the amount of downforce. Touch the brakes too hard, or turn too much and the aerodynamics will reactivate.

The Veyron and SLR had damn well better have functioning active air brakes... among other models. If not, I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Petty? Sure, but it's little stuff like this that makes me giggle like a child when I'm racing around a track in my living room.

SSC Ultimate Aero. worst name for a sports car ever.

you know what it reminds me of?

when i was a kid and my mum bought me a really cheap toy car. you know the ones that aren't modelled on any particular real-life sports car, it's just a very generic sports car type design? it sort of copies the look a little of real sports cars, but ends up looking like a bit of everything?

even the name though... it's just like one of those real cheap toy cars you got as a kid. SSC Ultimate Aero... lol

american car companies really do need to learn how to design a car.

oh and something else i want to bring up. the raw numbers are one thing, but how it performs around a track is another. you know the veyron was beaten around the top gear test track by a zonda. slower car, but much lighter and faster around corners. it would be interesting to know how the aero performs around a track.

GT5 will be better but this looks decent considering GT5's near photo realistic graphics. if anyone has a ps3 as well, i suggest you get GT5 instead of this....i hear it will have near 1000 cars. i think this has better personalization though.

Okay first of all the Bugatti is defiantly not the fastest production car ever made the SSC Ultimate Aero tt is by far faster the Bugatti had like 5 miles of straight road on a speedway. The Aero only had 2.5 besides they didn't even give the 2009 SSC a speed test yet, the better and more improved. 15% horsepower increase to 1287 horsepower it makes the Bugatti look bad for having double the turbos and double the pistons. And the Aero only has 2 turbos and 8 cylinders. I believe the 2009 Aero can reach 270 easy if they do they're run on a flatter, smoother, and "longer" road.

The article says they've never heard of the Veyron?!?!?! They should NOT be reporting on a car game if they have never heard of the fastest car EVER!!!!!!!! All of the fuss in the motoring magazines, and Top Gear (the best car show ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!) not being able to let The Stig drive one for 3 YEARS is more than enough for someone to at least see a picture of it. And everyone is saying that the SSC Ultimate Aero TT is the worlds fastest car, no one has actually confirmed it. Maybe I haven't heard of any confirmation, but anyway, James May got a Veyron up to 253.7 mph, therefore, the Veyron can do almost 254 mph. And Bugatti are making a new 1000 horsepower, W16, twin-supercharged, 220+ mph, 4-door Veyron saloon (or sedan in America) which will be put into production in 2011.
