IGN: 'Rock Band is coming to the iPhone'
While @EAmobile is twittering that "some big news from the EA Mobile camp being announced tomorrow morning" – leaving us in a would-be lurch for the next twelve hours or so – the insiders at IGN have spoiled the surprise. "Rock Band is coming to the iPhone," IGN Wireless declares. No equivocation there! Their promise to share "details, screens, gameplay impressions and more" tomorrow morning leads us to believe that they've already seen the game; unfortunately, they "can't say too much beyond the conformation [sic] of the game." No date, no price, no screens, nuthin'.
But: Rock Band is coming to the iPhone. For everything else, you'll have to wait until tomorrow morning.

Surprising that EA managed this before Activision. Though EA's support for the iPhone is well known.
AUS_JD @ Oct 7th 2009 11:17PM
Surprising EA can't seem to release Rock Band 2 in Australia at all, but all the Guitar Hero games are on sale, or soon will be.............

the Tuesday night I saw a verizon phone commercial where someone was playing a cellphone version of rock band Unplugged. Something about which company had better 3G coverage area. I figure if they're going to make it for some random texting phone the iphone wouldnt have been far behind.
But if Backbone entertainment is doing the port dont expect multiplayer. If they couldnt manage it on a PSP they sure as hell wont be smart enough to do it on the iphone.
juangrande386 @ Oct 7th 2009 11:02PM
still not GH whorage but this is getting them closer
WINterfang @ Oct 7th 2009 11:10PM
The only reason they aren't releasing as much new games as Actitivision is so they can nickel and dime people with DLC for Rock Band 2, because let's face it a new game with 90+ songs it's gonna be like 290 bucks if every song is release on DLC.
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Oct 7th 2009 11:14PM
I don't know what to say...
Alton Brown [ XBL: LordToastington] @ Oct 7th 2009 11:15PM
WINter, are you Bizarro?
GewurztraminerX @ Oct 7th 2009 11:17PM
I'd rather be nickel & dimed for music I get to choose than a mostly crappy 90 song setlist
linebeginstoblur @ Oct 8th 2009 12:05AM
Yes, you're right. They want to nickel and dime people on the DLC store and will not ever make budget bundles of these songs.

Hopefully it's more like Tap Tap Revolution and not Rock Band Unplugged. It'd be cool to be able to play online with 3 other people for each instrument.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:08PM
Surely you can use your position at EA to find out? Isn't that just a phone call away?
Peter Moore @ Oct 7th 2009 11:09PM
They don't tell me shit.
Sly (Now in Critter Form!) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:12PM

Special Agent Steve @ Oct 7th 2009 11:46PM

Peter: "Why, Tom! Good to see-hrrk!"
Okay, just kidding. I'm too benevolent for that.
Joe @ Oct 7th 2009 11:02PM
Really, I don't know how much I'll play this. I usually play simple games with no sound on my iPhone so I can do it in the bathroom at work!
Einhanderkiller @ Oct 7th 2009 11:05PM
Why
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:13PM

Sorry, clicked the wrong reply button.
Jesus Christ @ Oct 8th 2009 10:26AM
You rang?
Bill Gates @ Oct 7th 2009 11:03PM
Your title is misleading. It should read "Rock Band coming to the CRAPhone"
Look At This Suit @ Oct 7th 2009 11:07PM
Again with the "Look at me I'm an industry figure!" commenters?
Peter Moore @ Oct 7th 2009 11:08PM
Hey, I was the first.
These guys are posers.
Traceur_Ryuk [All Digital until December] (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:09PM
Lol, I find them kind of amusing.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:09PM
Get out of here, Bill Gates. You're nothing anymore. Steve Ballmer is so much cooler than you. He r killz aliens and doesn't afraid of anything!
Bill Gates @ Oct 7th 2009 11:11PM
Hey, I invented the internet! At least that's what mommy tells me.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:11PM
Goodness knows we don't need ANOTHER giant ego on Joystiq...between me, Peter Moore, and Bobby "I'm a Douche!(tm)" Kotick, I think we've got it covered.
Sly (Now in Critter Form!) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:13PM
we're one steve jobs away from the end of the internet as we know it.
*runs away to change his name*
Peter Moore @ Oct 7th 2009 11:15PM
I believe Al Gore invented the internets.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:21PM

That's Mr. Bill Gates to you.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:31PM
Kiss my ass, Billy. Unlike you, I can beat Nintendo in a console war.
Bill Gates @ Oct 7th 2009 11:48PM
You can't even beat a DVD player.
Tom Kalinske, CEO. (tomkalinske.blogspot.com) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:50PM
You're confused again. I left in 96. It was Moore who couldn't beat The DVD Player. (hint: PS2)
Steve Jobs (Thinnest and Lightest CEO in the Industry!) @ Oct 7th 2009 11:59PM
Unveiling the thinnest and lightest CEO in the industry... STEVE JOBS!!!
Bill Gates @ Oct 7th 2009 11:59PM
Yeah well.... I'm richer than you, so... take that...
Bill Gates @ Oct 8th 2009 12:01AM
You're a raccoon Steve Jobs?! Who knew?
Tom Kalinske, Former CEO of Sega of America @ Oct 8th 2009 12:03AM
Richer? You gave nearly all your money to charity, and most of it is tied up in Microsoft stock. You don't have squat.
Bill Gates @ Oct 8th 2009 12:08AM
That's just what they want you to think. I hate charity and anyone associated with it.
Tom Kalinske, Former CEO of Sega of America @ Oct 8th 2009 12:10AM
You invented the RRoD, BSoD, and Vista.
I invented the Sega Scream, He-Man, and Intellivision.
You semi-ran Microsoft(but Ballmer really did all the work)
I ran Mattel, Sega, and LeapFrog.
I rest my case.
Steve Jobs (Thinnest and Lightest CEO in the Industry!) @ Oct 8th 2009 12:27AM
i invented the ipod and iphone. i beat you all.
