Except if you're a Wii only owner. RB1, the track packs, and Lego don't export to RB2. I would have totally picked up Lego RB if they had importing/exporting options but they don't. I tired of switching disks, so I won't be buying it.

I thought the RB1 songs were made available on the Wii? And you guys have rawkSD, so stop complaining.

No, RB1 songs aren't importable. I don't do Homebrew, I'm talking legally importing/exporting only.

And I'm not really complaining, it would just be nice if we had the option legally to do it. I suppose it saves me money if I don't have to buy every music game that comes out.

But with RB2 being my favorite UI, I'd sure like RB1, track packs, and Lego to import.

@DakranII
well you can use homebrew to get even GHWT songs in RB2, but if you are serious about music games, just get the 360 version, not to bash the wii, since i like it, but music games get better support on the 360

Maybe when Natal comes out they'll implement a feature which scores you on your abilities of pointing, pelvic thrusting and shaping YMCA with your arms all while hitting the notes.

I know you're joking, but dancing games is one application of natal that I actually never thought about, and could actually be quite cool.

Not in your specific example, but... nevermind.

A few tracks actually look really good. Unfortunately, the bad ones are bad enough to scare me away from spending $60 on this game.

So there it is, Activision has finally pushed me 100% to the Rock Band camp.

This is actually a really good tracklist! Most of these songs I've actually heard of!

The 3 Taylor Swift songs is a good move - people love her and it's no different than a karaoke book that has several pages of Shania Twain.

Still, I repeat again - an all-country game would print enough money to pay off the national debt. The developers on the coasts have no idea how big that music is in the flyover states.

Every day that goes by without them making one is money out of their pockets.

So wait... If you want The Full Experience (all importable songs available in both 5 and BH) you have to: pay to import WT songs to 5, pay to import SH songs to 5, pay to import BH songs to 5, pay to import WT songs to BH, pay to import SH songs to BH, and pay to import 5 songs to BH? Why can't you pay once to import tracks to the console in a universal format that can be read by all future games, instead of importing each game's tracks to each new game separately? What happens when GH:6 comes out? We have to pay again to import all these songs to it?

I like GH and all, and I don't mind them milking it by releasing lots of "new" games with new tracks, but all this importing business is just stupid. I just want all the tracks on the console where i can throw in GH:5 and play any of them, or when the next "main" game comes out (GH:6?) throw that in and play any of them with whatever new "features" they've dreamed up. Or throw in GH:M and play any of the tracks as Metallica. (And yes, I know this hypothetical situation already exists, and its name is Rock Band.)

My issue is why does the DS have different songs. I really want the Weezer song, and Avril Lavinge on the Wii. I dont own a DS and do not plan to purchase one to play a few songs from it.

nickle and dime to get some, but not all, of the GH Hero catalogue to play on a single game? ugh.

and this insanity of compatibility is exactly why i have simply started renting the GH series instead of buying it. i will spend a few days trying out the track lists, play the songs i like, and send them back.

GH could have made more money off of me (as RB has) if they had just offered these songs DLC instead.

maybe if they were smart they could have come up with some way to DLC characters too....

Gump sat alone on a bench in the park
My name is Forrest, he'd casually remark
Waitin' for the bus with his hands in his pockets
He kept sayin' life is like a box of chocolates

He's Gump, he's Gump, he's Gump
What's in his head?

I don't know if Guitar Hero: Country is even a good idea, but the franchise does seem to appeal to red-state people (i.e. conservative leaning, usually country-listening audience) so they might as well.

But still Poison, Styx & Duran Duran isn't enough for me to want this, even though that = win. Drunkenly singing "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" at 3 am with plastic guitars sounds awesome

I want some Kylie in Rock Band! RB needs more pop, if they can do a country pack they should do a pop pack. Maybe that's what Lego RB is for, but it has a lame song list.

Wow...I actually like this list far more than the GH/RB games. I don't like metal, and usually about 3/4s of the songs on the GH/RB disc are crap. In addition, I don't feel like dropping $300 on DLC, so this could be an option for me. I'll be darned. Family and I would get a kick out of singing some Marvin Gaye.

You, Good Sir, have made my day with that Comment. Good Show!

In all seriousness, I was a GH person one year ago. I bought the WT complete band for Wii because I was furious how they butchered RB1 on Wii.

But then, I realized I was going to college and couldn't bring it with me (it was the families). I had gotten a broken 360 replaced and decided to try out RB2 on it and I've never looked back.

I remember the magic I felt when I played GHIII for the first time on Wii and thought how well it was put together. Sure, it had no full band, but it captured the essence of what was then called "GUITAR Hero".

Now, it seems that Activision's got cocky by being in first place, and is shoveling out crap every two months (putting Spice Girls in a BAND-centric game really makes me sick...). And wasn't there an article in EGM where a prank was pulled in development of GHII where they tricked GH's creator that Avril Lavine was being forced in and he had a breakdown? Several years later and their actually going with it even though it tarnishes the "Hero" name.

I think the best way of describing how the company is mutilating the franchise is the video I saw posted here early last month. Check it out:

As excited as I am about being able to export these songs into GH5, I am very nervously curious about which 4 songs aren't going to export. If it's Cheap Trick or David Bowie, I am going to cry.

While this is generally a worse list than LRB's there are a few ones on that might get me to buy this game.

Cold War Kids - "Hang Me Up To Dry" in particular almost makes want to buy this. But then I look through the rest and its mostly stuff that I can already play or stuff I can live without, so oh well.
