God of War III Ultimate Edition to rip apart your wallet

You'd think that with a box as obnoxiously large as this, the God of War III "Ultimate Edition" would be overflowing with goodies. However, don't expect an abundance of physical goods in this 8.3" wide x 10.5" long x 5.9" tall "High-End Sculpted Replica of Pandora's Box." With the exception of the God of War III art book, all the bonuses packaged into this collector's edition are downloads:

God of War Combat Arena containing an exclusive environment and seven challenges
Premium Kratos Skin – Dominus
God of War: Unearthing the Legend Franchise Documentary – a full-length movie documentary depicting the history of the God of War franchise
God of War Trilogy Soundtrack – God of War, II, and III scores from the game (mp3 digital download).
God of War: Blood and Metal EP – a heavy metal homage featuring original music inspired by God of War (mp3 download).

So how much will this big box o' digital goodies cost you? $100!

Of course, a big-budget game isn't complete without a requisite pre-order bonus. God of War III's pre-order bonus is none too surprising: a downloadable demo of the game you just put a deposit on! With the same demo releasing via the God of War Collection and the District 9 Blu-ray, chances are good you'll end up with more than one access code to the GoW demo before it ships next year -- heck you might even see a code pop up in your e-mail this weekend!

I agree with you where is the Bust of Krato's? I even remember people asking How about a replica of his sword or a necklace?.....To me downloads are a waste of money..They should've asked us the question as to what we wanted in this Collectors package....Its not worth $100...

the only thing is most of these so called exclusive movies on the disc just end up being on Gametrailers or online somewhere and you feel ripped off. Then after a week they make the maps online for everybody to play as DLC.

$100? Not too shabby, that's what every other game costs here in Sweden, guess that package will be something like $150 here then...

The art book I might enjoy, but that box and DLC are almost worthless to me. I can't argue with the $100 price though. Overall, that's a good deal for those that would want that stuff

I could really care less about the box. I really want the soundtracks and the game. I'm a sucker for videogame soundtracks!

While I am a God of War ho this just seems like they're trying to make as much money off the name as possible. I mean much does it cost to put out a few downloadables that you'll be able to find on youtube in about a week or so? And what about that box, I don't want to pass judgment too early, but c'mon.
This whole thing just seems fishy to me.
I will most definitely be getting this game, but I wish that they went with the Killzone 2 rout on this 1.

The God of War 3 demo is available at Gamestop now, I worked there today, and I'm downloading the demo RIGHT NOW!!!!! I CANT WAIT!!!! This collectors will totally be worth it, I LOVE God Of War

With the price of many collector's edition games these days, this package doesn't seem TOO bad. It would be much better if the goodies were of the physical media variety though. What's next? Collector's edition games on the PSP Go and Steam?

But in all seriousness that box would probably be like $40 on its on so the artbook and digital stuff makes it a great value. I have never seen a box with such detail on the outside. ive seen small plastic clear bins for like $5 $10, Ridiculas, so dam thats an amazing deal, second i get a few more pennies im getting it.

What the f**? Yes, nice worthless useless box... the extras are cool...but they're ALL downloads only??? WTF???

No way I'm buying this crap, this package totally blows. All the extras should be on CD or DVD for crap sakes. No thanks, this Collector's item sucks even worse than the Batman:AA CE garbage.

I recently got invited to participate in the GOW 3 Demo, and I must admit, I enjoyed it, I will probably buy the game after playing the demo!
