Not as much without cause, though. Sony is trying to force their console experiences to work on the handheld, which is going to come up short no matter which way you slice it. Not necessarily stopping any of them from being good games, but the comparisons to the console versions are brought upon themselves by being so similar to the console versions

It's part of the old problem of the PSP being treated as a console jr by developers

But really, if the worst thing you can say is that the version that fits in your pocket isn't quite as good as the version that requires a TV and a $300+ system with a fancy cell processor and dedicated graphics chip, you're doing pretty damned good. The fact that the PSP can even be compared (even if not always fairly) to a home console is why I own one.

GT PSP sucked, having to wait for manufacturers to 'come around' before you can get the cars you actually want, and even then, with all the repeated cars/models with different years slapped on. I would have much prefered the original or 2nd GT.

Honestly LBP wasn't that fun in single-player. The game was, however, a complete blast to play with 2 or 3 friends. I just can't imagine the PSP version being that good without multiplayer.

If the less impressive editor means ultimately the community sticks to PS3, this game might never see its full potential. I can personally see creating levels on a handheld being fairly tedious, too. If this game could play PS3 levels (by having its own lower-quality version of all of LBP's materials and resources, plus the 3rd plane), it wouldn't even need an editor. I'd be more than willing to pay just to be able to play the original LBP on the move. Ah well, chances are I'll still pick this up; it's just frustrating that the original game might actually make this one worse, not better.

Sucks i can't use PSN with custom firmware. Might have to upgrade :/

I love having RemoteJoy Lite, Emulators and stuff. But not being able to play the games i've bought on PSN sucks balls.

"While the PSP version of the game does an adequate job of transplanting these tools onto a portable console, a surprisingly large amount of that power and ease of use was sacrificed in the process."

Now why would this be, in any way, surprising? The resources of the PSP are so much smaller than the PS3, it's pretty much expected that functionality is going to be very limited.

My review of this review:

I think it's kind of wrong for reviewers that are primarily PS3 users to critique PSP games on their own. In my opinion they do it wrong. Instead of reviewing the game as is, they feel this massive desire to constantly compare it to the PS3, which is nearly tantamount to comparing a helicopter to a airplane, sure they both fly but they do it in very different ways. One might use a single prop while the other a jet. We know the PS3 controller has more buttons. At least I think we all do.

So what it boils down to is that it might have been better critiqued if a person that primarily uses the PSP would have collaborated on this review.

Little Big Planet pwns. It'll be awesome to have some LBP platforming action in a portable format. The haters will complain because it's not the same as the PS3 cell processor bluray version (go figure!).. But, when I wanna do internet/multiplayer or serious level editing, I'll go PS3, anyway. But, when I'm stuck on a plane or waiting room. I'll transport to the land of sackboy for some fun on the PSP version! A definite buy at full price title, IMHO!

Heck, I haven't made any levels in the PS3 version. It takes a good deal of time to make anything decent.

I wish everyone would remember that this game comes with sleep mode!!! I can put the system down in the middle of designing a level and come back later...omg!

I would make levels all day on PS3 if I didn't have to be stuck on my couch for the several hours it takes to make a good one. Now that I can make levels from the coffee shop, shitter, or anywhere else is just amazing. Even if the controls are more combersome, there is NO OTHER GAME that can provide this kind of continued game content (even if it is user created!)

This game is win!

This game looks very good is just tjat if they added another anolog nub and L2 R2 bouttons the whole system whould be bulky and hard to carry around. Also the fact that sony cannot put there own game is sad in the least but this game looks good. another thing they could do is put addons for new level editor and add new textures and pecies but it still looks good.

I tried 3 different copies of this game, all crashed and shut the system off in the 4th world of the game. Level editor constantly crashed too. It's a shame. It had so much potential, but I simply couldn't play it.

No mention of the fact that one of the biggest titles used to herald the launch of the PSPgo is still not available on the PlayStation Network, approaching a week after its release date (yes, including PSN)?

I have gone through endless bullcrud to get the game. While I own a PSP-3000, I wanted the digital copy to lop off the UMD's load times and battery drain. On Tuesday, I tried to download the game ahead of an international flight. No sign of it. During the morning of Wednesday, I kept checking and FINALLY word leaked that something had gone wrong. No specifics.

Thankfully I had Puzzle Quest to keep me entertained on my flight.

Firmly on English soil by Friday, I decided to try to buy the game on UMD. It was then I discovered that Sony enforces totally arbitrary, bullshit region locking on games so it would not play on my US-bought PSP.

Eventually, I created a UK PSN account and bought it that way with my UK credit card. However, now I have to engage in endless jerking around to switch between my UK and US accounts to play my games.

Once I have these few games beat, Sony can go f**k themselves.

I played the demo on my old psp and it was cool, i could buy it.

The bad news, at least for me, it drains heavy power from battery.
