I just have to say that all of you who keep on saying this game is a clone of God of War have some priorities to get in line. You people realize you play games that are practically clones of everything that has ever existed in gaming. Every FPS you play is a clone of games like Wolfenstein and Doom. Every RPG you play is a clone of FF. Every RTS you play is a clone of C&C. Hypocrisy is the correct term for this situation.

Every FPS since 1999 is a clone of either Halo or Half-Life.

First of all, not all games are clones. A game may use a similar basic concept, but it has the oppurtunity to distance itself from the pack. A new game mechanic, setting, or other item can do this.
Second, what if we applied this "clone" concept to real life? "Rugby? It's just a clone of football." "Biking? It's just a clone of driving." The term "clone" is used too much these days. Dante's Inferno seems to me to be a reskinned God of War, and all the demo impressions I've read have not changed that opinion.

Last: Hypocrisy is NOT the correct term. Hypocrisy is not saying one thing and doing another. It is saying something you don't actually believe in. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypocrisy

Don't go linking wikipedia pages to me. Hypocrisy is the correct term. You BELIEVE it is a god of war clone, yet are oblivious to the countless games that can be BELIEVED to be clones. For example. You believe that this game is a direct reskin of God of War. Yet you do not believe that a game like Call Of Duty (not modern warfare) is not a reskin of Day of Defeat for Half Life. End example. It is a contradicting and hypocritical statement. So before you go trying to correct people's use of words, read into the text and understand that an original meaning of a word grows over time. Despite so, it still pertains to.

"I think Dante's Inferno has had a genius marketing campaign.
Look how many posts and comments it has got on Joystiq, far more then it ever would have had if they just did the standard thing of releasing trailers every now and then"

But all these posts and comments barely mention the game, its easy get noticed today, all you have to do is piss a group of people off, the real 'genius' marketing campaigns stray away from this.

These post's and comments wont correlate to sales, I don't know one distinguishing feature that makes this game any different from God Of War, thats what the marketing team should have done, not aim to get 15 minutes on the internet.

PS Ouch, my inbox :(

Congratulations, EA. You have pioneered a reverse marketing campaign, designed specifically to make me NOT want to buy your game.

Pretty much everything this marketing team has done so far is in bad taste.

This one actually left a bad taste in my mouth.

I never intended to even pirate the demo ever since I read that they sold the movie rights before announcing the game.

I think this ad is great. I'm all for anything that points out the ridiculousness of organized religion.
