I've had Xbox Live every year since it came out for the original Xbox, and it has only ever been out for one holiday, and that was years ago.

But I guess the source is solid, it being a satire site and all...

That's sorta like how Fox News will say something completely ignorant and false, but put it in quotations or say it in question form to pass it off like they're not doing anything wrong.

Like, "Is Obama a muslim?" It's all just another way to hide the trolling.

Looks like they psuedo corrected the article to "two years" - so Schramm is either making it look like it happened two years in a row (innacurate) or he's referencing an issue from two years ago which is hardly topical and a waste of time.

I think this article should be taken down (not to mention never posted in the first place).

It seems to be attempting to perpetuate some sort of myth that XBL is unreliable.

Its facts are wrong, and the way it is written is confusing and made me think that MS was actually announcing some sort of planned outage right after Xmas. WTF?

Oh tmac, nobody else does that do they? Yes! yes HATE fox news, then go running into the arms of state run NBC, all to eager to suckle from the breast of ignorance.

Never hear anybody wonder why the head of GE, which owns NBC, was in Russia, in conference with Putin, the day after the missile shields were scrapped in Poland. Nope, nothing going on there.

I don't understand how an isolated incident two years ago a "tradition." I don't understand why this post exists. There's no actual information here, just links to old and satirical news. Since when was Joystiq a Gawker site?

Correct me if I'm wrong it happened "two years ago" on the cusp of the new year spanning ~11 days from 2007 into 2008 so saying it happened in 2008 is just as valid as saying it happened in 2007 .....

Now that doesn't mean that the same thing happened around Christmas in 2008 but I would be surprised if they didn't have some small burps in service here and there tho that doesn't make it a tradition.

people need to stop being zealots and enjoy the post for the satire I'm sure it was meant to be, go about your day and be merry for its that time of year after all :)
