I'm just messing around. The Halo series is cool. Just not for me. Could never get into it but I can understand why it's such a popular game. I can see how much work and dedication the developers put into them. Now HAWX was just a bad game all around. I'm sticking to my guns on that one ::no pun intended::

you know i really don't get how people can say that the halo franchise sucks. I'm a HUGE Nintendo fan and even i have played the halo and enjoyed the halo series. heck if and when halo reach: birth of a spartan is released I'm going to immediately watch it! i have only seen the trailer for it and even i am pimped for it! i swear people have no taste these days.

AC1 wasn't as good as AC2, but it was a fun game. It was a great game. If you compare all games to AC2, most games look pretty terrible.
Hawx, though, was indeed terrible. And part of my annoyance is how so many game assets that should be part of the fun are DLC. DLC should be worth the money.... that's a tricky equation to work out, but when you can only fly the cool planes if you pay a little more money, I think that's utter crap. It's a scam.

I called it. When the Joystiq had that article bout 2 more Tom Clancy games bein made, I knew HAWX was 1 of them.
There's already so much I want this Holiday season 2010 soi won't be getting this. Sorry Ubi!!

The only part I really didn't like was it felt like it took a long time to get back into teh game if you were shot down, or in my case: crashed into everything you possibly could.

I usually don't care about that issue because the PS3 has the better exclusives for me by a longshot. And Ace Combat became one of those games that require you to buy loads of DLC to fly the cool planes... which is just terrible disrespect of the consumer.

I actually liked the first game... until it made me steer the jet in 3rd person mode, which made aiming the jet in the appropriate direction nearly impossible. I spent over an hour on the tutorial trying to get past it to get to the mission. That kinda killed it for me, and I never bothered coming back.
I'm waiting for AC on the PS3. The 360 version was pretty good, but I'm kinda hoping the PS3 exclusive one will be like Katamari... ya know.. better.

You have nailed the problem. Hawx is an arcade game that thinks it's somehow far more than that. It's missed all the cool aspects of an arcade game and just has the crap mechanics and realism.

I really enjoyed the first one but half of the missions we're terrible and the other half were fair. It really felt like a pre-build for marketing purposes then a finished game. I liked the mechanics, hud views, and coop but I'm a little disappointed it's scheduled for a fall release. Seems to soon and the timing seems off with so many other Ubisoft games this 4th quarter.

The 3rd person mode really did take some getting used to. Once you had it down you could dodge almost anything. It really added a neat element to the game. The planes were fun and varied and most importantly, they were FUN to fly. It was more AC style and thats ok. I like AC style. What were you expecting out of a flight game?
The multiplayer, believe it or not, was really well done. You could play "hardcore" with no extreme bonuses or you could play arcade style. Best of both worlds. You could actually get GOOD at it, especially hardcore.
People who hate on HAWX are pertty much the same person who doesn't play flight games. If you don't play it, then who cares if other people like it.
Now if you did play it and didn't like it...you either sucked at 3rd person mode or you couldn't hack a couple missions. Not my fault.
