it may not mean cheaper games, but maybe Sony will have more money to buy more indie developers for PSN or some other exclusive games.

I would totally get a PSP-Go, but they need to:

1) Have EVERY disc based game available for download and exclusives.
2) Make the games MUCH cheaper (you don't have physical distribution costs anymore).

The big news is that the PS2 continues to sell even though it's 10 years old.

Hopefully we can finally see the retirement of PS2 in North America, Europe, Australia and East Asia. It likely still has life in South America and South Asia, but here it's just taking up space. It's time for PS2 to manifest itself in the form of PSN downloads, supported by both PS3 and PSP2.

I love my PSP, lord knows though I don't buy many new games for it. Last new game was Dantes Inferno via PSN and LBP via PSN before that.

Prior to those...Silent Hill Origins UMD, I do believe. I can't find anymore PS1 classics that I'd like to buy and have enough minis.

On the PS3 front, I'm just overwhelmed at the titles to pick from. already have a backlog to play through.

I'm on my second PS3. My 60GB = Yellow light :-( But I felt better that I only had to pay 300 this time around and got a more efficient & bigger HD console. The best thing is that I finally get to play my games with rumble. Awesome! I did have to get a PS2 though to play the game that I bought but I love to support Sony. They have always treated me right. WAY TO GO SONY!!

Well, if they want something to logically go up against the iPhone, it seems like the next step for me - and as you say, the phone is quite good, meld that with a PSP, and we have a powerful piece of kit that a lot of people would be interested in.

After all, the iPhone for me - is crap as a phone, yet good with the apps you can get. Imagine a phone/gaming device that actually did everything we need from such a device.

:D

To think they could add to those numbers if you could actually BUY A PS3 IN A STORE FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS!

Seriously, been looking for a new slim for a while now.

Does this mean that they can finally afford to put in some cool features. I still feel like I'm sitting a big box of wasted potential.

Maybe they'll really open it up now.
But the way they've been going, I'm betting the "big update" this year will be a Twitter app and a youtube update that will help for about a week before it needs to be updated again.
