I've gotten tired of the current dashboard design, so this is good news to me. While I don't expect the overhaul we got from the blades to NXE, I'm hoping the interface just gets cleaned up a bit. I went to go play Braid today, and to get to it was just so janky. I had to go through way to many menus and lists to get to it. Like seriously, why are my installs for games listed with my arcade games? It just clutters things up.

Also, I'd like something on the dash to show my active downloads. It gets annoying when I'm trying to see how long I have until the download is done, I have to go blades, scroll over, and click active downloads. Just have a little thing in the corner telling me how long it'll be done.

I'm a little worried about this being described as Metro-esque with such vulgar typography. But then I said the same thing about the original NXE's 'channel' headings...

As a professional interface designer and consultant, I have to say I don't like it. It looks clumsy, unimaginative, and quite frankly, a big step backwards.

If I was to redesign the 360 interface, all I'd do is make the panels not so green, or preferably make them customizable, reorganize the marketplaces a little bit, integrate the "mini apps" such as Zune player a lot better, and update appearance, maybe even the sound effect, of the notifications.

Nah i really don'e like that - it's as if they don't want us to see the menu anymore which is exactly what nxe was for - the slanted off-kilter angle was so they could show folk more options and more content than what why could with a flat screen.

Taking that step back wouldn't me logical - especially considering natal's focus.

Also, me no likey./

Obvious fakes...you can tell since there's no TOM MORELLO on the screenshots...

It's about time. I never liked the NXE anyway, but this is certainly a step up from the current, grey sphere thing it's on.
Now all we need is the ability to turn off Avatars and I can't see much else which needs changing...
On a side note, has anyone else's Dashboard started crashing/freezing/breaking a lot lately? Mine is, and I can't understand why.

So, it's now literally the XMB, except scrolls vertically as opposed to horizontally? Cool. :D

I would really like to have the original style dashboard back. They changed mine without my permission.

Considering this was shown for about 3 seconds at E3 if you were paying attention and the fact that it makes perfect sense to have it match the zune/wp7 look with the extent they've been cross-branding as of late, is anyone actually surprised here?
