@ZBlood123

I only played this like around 2 months ago. It was very engaging. It has more than 20 endings, although I didn't manage to get all of them. Oh and what I like the most about this game is it offers various stances. You wanna play as a ninja, checked. You wanna play as a samurai, checked. You wanna play as a melee thug, you got it.

@Presaria

Its fun, but it also looks incredibly dated. Not a lot changed between the first Way of the Samurai and WotS 3, and even less between 2 and 3.

I don't know what to expect from 4.

I couldn't find 3 for the life of me.

I'll be keeping my eye out for this one. I loved the first game and played it more than any other hack and slash game back on the PS2.

Is this series any good? An open world (at least I think) samurai game definitely has my interest piqued. Man, if only Rockstar did an open world samurai game...

@Guts

Ahh, ok. Thanks. I'll definitely have to look more into it. I'm guessing you can get the earlier ones pretty cheap nowadays.

@TraceurRyuk Prepping for LBP2 And develop it for the Xbox and leave PS3 players with a crappy port? I still can't get over the GTA4 fiasco (and thus still haven't tried RDR). I will, eventually.

i dont think thats what he meant.. you really have to play RDR to understand.. i can honestly say its one of the best games made this gen.. they really paid attention to detail. best clothing physics ive ever seen in any game.. thats the one thing im really amazed about in rdr.. aside fom that.. most realistic horses & movement ive seen. add on that story, gameplay, too much to do, i still havent finished the game. and i agree with him in that I WANT A ROCKSTAR SAMURAI GAME. either that.. or a rockstar RPG.. or.. both in one.. that'll be the best game ever.

Well that sucks for me. I love these games. The first on PS2 was one of my little treasures. I don't own a PS3 so I guess it will be a few youtube sessions to see the various story play-throughs for me.

My only real issue with the last game was that it didnt really feel like they'd done much to take advantage of the PS3 (or even 360 for that matter) in that the characters were just better looking PS2 characters, still using a similar set of animations and sticking to the familiar method of determining the story path. Cutscenes still had a lack of life to them which really took me out of the game. Nice though if you like having duals with random dudes and having it change the direction of the story but unless they step up the production values this time I'll probably skip it.

Glad to see there's a sequel coming for this game. I remember Way of the Samurai 3 received mediocre marks from critics but a lot of players liked it a lot. I've never played any of the games but I'm darned excited to get on board and try part 4 out when it drops. I love these types of games!

Looks like 3, and i bet its plays like 3. Probably gonna pass on this one. There is NO innovation in this series. This is a series that i wish they would outsource to the west.

@Undying True, it would be interesting to see what could be done if this were outsourced to the west. If I had to pick a developer it would probably not be a super high budget developer because this IP isn't big enough to invest in a big studio for it. So I would go with Liquid Entertainment. I would have gone with BottleRocket if they were still in business. However, it would probably lose it's eastern charm.

I started playing Way of the Samurai 3 and hated it right away... Hated so much that I put it aside for months and months until I gave it another go...

When I finally did it quickly started growing on me and I became addicted and played non-stop till I got the plat :P
