Konami deals out 'Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels' on XBLA this week
40
We're not about to start pretending like we understand what Yu-Gi-Oh is all about. (It's like Pokémon with cards or something, right?) Anyway, Konami has tweeted that Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels -- try saying that one five times fast -- will be dealt out on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday. The game seems geared to online play and allows up to four players to duke it out in free-for-all or tag duels. Naturally, players will also be able to bulk up their decks by purchasing new cards on Xbox Live Marketplace.
We'd love to close this post with a pithy Yu-Gi-Oh joke but, sadly, our inexperience renders this impossible. So, we'll just have to leave it to YouTube user ipooinyourface.
[Thanks, Jason]

I got a lot out of Magic so I'll try this game out for the first time. I know it'll be a disappointment to MTG but that's okay.

@Jack Kevorkian I didn't like DotP because of the sterile nature of the game, considering its history of diverse decks. Here's hoping this one does better, but given the environment I probably won't like it for a different reason.
Not the reason that it isn't on the PC.

@Chronomaster I felt like DotP was an introduction to either the online game (MTGO) or the real game. And it was very successful at it imo. he game was very good in familiarizing everyone with the rules, ciombos and deck ideas.
Because of DotP I started playing Friday Night Magic every few weeks or so. I had a really good experience with the game.

If this was a Forbidden Memories port, I'd buy it, but 5d stuff is garbage.

I'll try it out but I don't think i'll enjoy it as much as I do Magic.

What better way to prove my personal value and increase my gamerscore than with a Children's Card Game?
If this doesn't have Mind Crush in it, it's not worth playing.

Actually, since this is based on the Tag Force games, it probably doesn't...

Just happy there is no story to it because Konami cheats the hell in other YUGIOH games. To bad in not coming to the psn. Please Sone make it happen.

Oh man, I've caught this cartoon in the morning on Cartoon Network because I left it on the channel after watching adult swim. I was laughing so hard because the cartoon is basically teaching you how to play the game. The dialogue (during a duel at least) is always something like "he's played his two cards so now i'll pay this card ok good" and then the bad guy says "hahaha i summon the grand dragon!" "oh no how was he able to do that?" "well i held back my four whatever cards and now I'm allowed to summon a grand dragon, which beats your puny cards" and then they show the cards on the screen and how many hit points they lose or whatever.
TL; DR: the show is a half-hour commercial for the game

@Acosta02 In the first few seasons, they never played with the real rules. They basically rearranged the rules every duel and abused that as a cheap plot-device. As the series went on, they started playing along the real rules. I don't know about Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's because I never watched any more 5D's episodes after seeing the first episode, which was absolutely terrible in my opinion, but in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX they really used the real rules and hardly ever broke them. Only some card effects were a bit altered for that show.

Yu-Gi-Oh can have a surprising amount of depth to it. I haven't played it in a while but I remember coming up with all kinds of crazy strategies.

can't wait i just hope its 400 at the least and not 800msp this game isn't worth 10$ lol

I learned how to play it on the DS, it's not bad actually. Its kinda like Magic with more rules and exceptions (least the old school Magic, I dunno about now...I think the last time I played, Ebonhold was big).
The rest of the series is a bit much for me, but the game itself I won't complain about.

You know, I was dying to hear more news about this game since it was announced. & 2 days before it comes out, that's when I hear the news? I know this isn't on top priority compared to other games, but I've seen games that I literally have never heard of before getting so much coverage. No gaming news website even tried to ask about this game at E3, Comic-Con, Games-com, TGS, Pax even though this game was being shown off. I know it's Yu-Gi-Oh & I know people think it's a just a card game, but it has a fan-base & people do want this game hence why they made it in the first place.

I wish they wouldn't have made it such a surprise. I don't even have my Microsoft points loaded up.
