don't let blackbox have need for speed rights.. its blatantly obvious criterion are the ones for the job, just compare the two? ughh rather annoying tbh..

I agree, give Burnout to Criterion and leave them the hell alone.

huh? Black Box was the studio that developed Hot Pursuit 2, which was AWESOME. i hope they're developing a HP2 remake for next year; this year's is a bit too much like burnout.

How about EA stop making Need for Speed every year, and make a new Road Rash game. I would also like SSX Tricky 2.

@The 7th Number Yes I want another SSX without any motion controller stuff.

I also played Reach today against a The 7th Number. Wonder if that was you...

I simply cannot vote you high enough. Critereon did make a joke about why they made bikes in Burnout recently, implying they were testing the bed for a new Road Rash. So here is hoping. Plus, I so agree. SSX is needed very badly!

I love the Burnout series. My favorite racing series by far. I loved Paradise except for the "open world" thing. I just want to select my race from the menu. Burnout 3 was perfect except the difficulty got insane on the end. It was hard to gauge cars coming at you that fast with PS2 graphics with F1 cars. Loved the demo for Hot Pursuit. Hoping I can really just select the race from the menu.

Also glad they got rid of the crappy "racing culture" stuff the Need for Speed Most Wanted thing had. Almost as worse as when a game tries for the "urban style" in Xtream games.

@FriedConsole I think the open world thing was the absolute best aspect of Paradise, I loved cruisin and making freeform races when I played online.

It was like racing you could do anything you wanted with, plus all the challenges and stuff hidden everywhere.

I personally would have liked if it was a bit of both, free play a bit then when I'm done "choose" exactly what race I want from the menu screen.

Problem was that races all ended at the same 4 or 5 points. So all the races seemed way too similar after a while.

I agree, except the open world thing. I loved that about Burnout. Joystiq: I thought Paradise was a spiritual successor to Burnout 3. It was the best burnout I've played since burnout 3. All the free content they gave you... almost made you think it wasn't published by EA.

@FriedConsole So if it was a problem, fix it in the sequel!

Plus, weren't you creative? Didn't you make whacky ass races that snaked around and backtracked over themselves while forcing everyone to race as a van that felt like it was made out of butter?

that's why i DIDN'T like the demo all that much, though. too much like burnout. if they wanted to make a burnout-style game, they should have just made a burnout game. i hope the sequel to this HP is more like the original HP2.

I was under the impression that there already was a spiritual successor to Burnout 3 in Split/Second. At least that's what it feels like to me.

Nah, Split/Second needs traffic and "crash mode" to get close to being a spiritual succesor to B3. It's a good start, just not enough...Burnout-ey.

Step 2: Have one team make Burnout 6 while the other works on SSX5
Step 3: PROFIT

A new non-motion controlled SSX **with Rahzel**.

I like Atomika and all, but Tricky has the best soundtrack of the SSX's and it's time to get back to that, including Rahzel.

Evolution to SSX Tricky and Burnout 3 would be AWESOME.

If they do another Burnout Paradise game we're going to have some problems because that game was GARBAGE.

SSX held true to their name throughout the series however each release declined a little bit.

EA can you please re-open EA Sports BIG, that was one my favorite game studios.

Agreed. It was also one of the best online communities. I could actually go into a random online game and people would be working together to get those challenges and not screaming obscenities at each other. What a great game.

Burnout peaked at 3 or 4.
3 being my personal fave.

Paradise just didn't do it for me.
The whole open world thing, well,
sucked.

Please please please make a successor to BO3
with very little choice in the "which route to take"
nonesense.

I would like an SSX5 game that has two modes, simple kinect motion-controller and then the regular controller-based play like the old games. This ensures that I can play the game with a controller like it's meant to be played, and the kinect mode ensures that it sells many more copies to the masses so that they make an SSX6!

DO IT ALREADY!!

Well, that's good Burnout is not dead. I love Burnout. Being playing Burnout since Burnout Takedown on PS2 and being loving them ever since.

On another note, I hope EA/Black Box smarten up and make NFS Underground 3. That would be great. Definitely a must-buy for me!

There is no new SSX game. Please tell me you read the article. Griffin wants a new SSX game, that's all.

It was one of his favorite series back in the PS2 era, after all. Who could blame him?
