Two Worlds 2 publisher's CEO mad at Sony about European PS3 delay
31
Two Worlds 2's release drama continues, as publisher TopWare/Zuxxez's CEO Dirk Hassinger calls Sony out for missing the game's European release date. Eurogamer reports that the game recently launched in mainland Europe on Xbox 360 and PC, but the executive explains that because TopWare couldn't choose the pressing plant for the PS3 discs, the game won't be available on the platform until after Christmas.
This is just the latest incident in a string of delays, more delays and denials regarding the reasons for those delays that have plagued the title. The wait may be worth it, as Eurogamer Germany gave the game a 9/10. Two Worlds 2 is expected to launch January 2011 in the US and UK.

"Two Worlds 2's..."
Is grammatically correct, yet oddly mind-scrambling.

If by WRPG you mean Western RPG, and if by Western you mean Poland, then yes, I see what you're getting at

Western as in everything east of the International Date Line, which yes would include Poland and the former Soviet Bloc, but probably not anything east of the Urals.

@Crayola Q Pants ESQ "Western" means "the Western world," which includes Poland as it's not in "the far East."

Western meaning anything east of the international dateline doesn't make sense, since that would be circular. That would be like saying anything west on GMT, you keep going, you hit that imaginary line again. WRPG simply means anything not typically Asian since anything east in the context you use it would have to include NZ and Australia, which definitely would not be considered eastern (Asian) for gaming nor typically referred to in context as JRPGs which applies in this context contra-WRPGs. Imaginary graphical delineations on a map mean nothing as they can be reached over and over again. But if you were really striving for European meaning, then saying anything east of GMT but not farther than the Urals would be apropos.

With this (if it's actually good), The Witcher 2, and Dragon Age 2 on the horizon, it's about to be a good time for Medieval fantasy RPGs

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if GT6 came out before GT5.

After grabbing a copy of the English version at gamersgate i must say the game looks beautiful and runs like a dream on my PC. It has some bugs but the gameplay and crafting is solid. Melee, magic, range has own fun mechanic that is very fun and challenging.
Magic and armor crafting is also very very nice, every armor and weapon can be broken down into pieces to upgrade other weapons then you can put gems into them as well etc
I didn't play the first one but this one is a winner in my book.

Wait... so Topware is annoyed at Sony... because Topware couldn't choose a pressing plant... WHAT!?

They couldn't choose one because of Sony.
Hence the disks not being made in time.

@Danjcb Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft control the pressing of every game for their respective consoles. They do this to ensure they are paid for each copy produced. Otherwise, they would have to rely upon the honesty of the publishers to tell and they just don't chance that one.
I don't know if they control the entire process, like printing the manual or cover art, but they control the pressing and final assembly.

9/10? Were did they get the money to bribe a reviewer? It's not like they made a profit on the first.

soooo...you guys think they named themselves TopWare so people would get confused and think they're an offshoot satellite studio of BioWare and then forget about the shittyness of Two Worlds and then buy the horribly named Two Worlds 2? because i think that's what happened.

New Release Date for the PS3 version in European territories (outside of the UK) is November 18th according to the publisher. This hasn't changed yet, anything beyond that is speculation based on what Sony may or may not do based on his outburst. Either way it's damn unprofessional of Sony.
