Thatgamecompany holding Journey playtest event in LA next week

If you're curious about thatgamecompany's enigmatic mountain-approaching PSN adventure, Journey -- and if you're curious about what you're going to do while you're in the LA area on November 19 -- the developer has something planned to satisfy both kinds of curiosity.

That night, thatgamecompany is hosting a semi-public playtest of Journey. If you're between 18 and 35, familiar with PSN, and able to make the journey to Santa Monica, then contact thatgamecompany (contact details after the break) and you might be among the lucky players invited!

"If you are interested and qualified, please send an email with your name, age, address, PSN ID, and contact number to journeyplaytest@gmail.com. If you are selected, you will receive an email with confirmation and the specific details."

Dammit, I'm only a couple of hours away...and I totally don't want to make the drive. Besides, my radiator's cracked, and getting worse. My last trip to the LA area didn't do it any favors =(

I'll just pray this means a release is in sight. Because this looks mega-ultra-sweet.

I'd forgotten about this game, but the mention of mountain-approaching gameplay has reignited my interest. Too bad I'm in Hawaii...

You are in Hawaii, and lamenting your inability to (virtually) approach mountains. That's kind of funny. I would feel bad for you, but there's a whole ream of Florida kids I gotta feel worse for. They have ZERO options, I tell you. Zero! This is their only way!

That game company "Thatgamecompany" always seem to surprise me with their games. Looking SO forward to this game.

While it seems like a stretch based on the media we've seen. If I had to bet, I'd say it's an elaborate version of "snake". Like Cloud (kinda), Flow, and Flower.
