Word. The only reason I watched last year's was because I had a hard one for Halo Reach. And basically no friends.

I can feel the nerd spilling out of me as I post this, but that rifle is the M29 Incisor from the ME2 Aegis pack. Either they're reusing weapon models, or it's new Mass Effect.

Nice eye. The get-up of that fellow makes me think it might be a prequel to Mass Effect even. Maybe the war between the Humans and Turians? That could be wicked.

A game set during the First Contact war would be awesome. I'm hoping for a game during the Morning War (Geth uprising) too, but with a human in it, it can't be this one.

@Epoque - They could blow our minds and set the game right as the relay was being found by humans for the first time. It would be cool to play the first moments a human ran into another species.

Having said that, why put out a prequel before the original trilogy is complete? That wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to me, unless there is another team within Bioware making it (even then...why make people wait for the conclusion to the story longer than necessary?)

@BananaBoat : Metal Gear Solid did it, and for my money, Snake Eater had the best storyline of them all. Big Boss is still my favorite game character to this day.

The only problem with that is MGS was never bounded by a trilogy. MGS2 was going to be the last game. Then he made 3 & said that was the last game. The he made 4 & said that was the last game . The came Peace Walker & that will be the last game for him as he doen't have a major part in Rising. Bioware said since the launch of Mass Effect 2 that this will be a trilogy. I think they'd want to have their fans experience the whole story before they can back track & see what happened before ME1.

Honestly, that's a great idea. Or it could be a story that's parallel to Mass Effect 1 & 2.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is

from a Kotaku commenter:

"Here is another clue, the hexagon pattern which is a common theme in ME.

Also, as [kotaku.com] (Blackout62) else pointed out earlier, the two numbers that Bioware have alluded to were: 55.845 and -128.5°F. The mass of iron and the coldest temperature on earth.

Mass of iron & coldest temperature on earth
Mass of FE (iron) & CT on earth
Mass FE CT on earth
Mass Effect on Earth!

I can imagine this being a story about the first contact."

Also, Bioware posted a Digital Barcode on their facebook and didn't explain what it was.
Possibly related though. It apparently just gives out binary for the atomic mass of Iron.

BioWare just tweeted a QR code that returns 001101010011010100101110001110000011010000110101, which translates to 55.845.

The only significance I can find for that number is that it's the atomic mass of Iron.

@JakePT Just occurred to me that the significance of this is probably nothing to do with Iron, but perhaps the 'Mass' part.

What about this looks "typical?"

What the hell is a typical Western RPG for that matter anyway? Mass Effect 2 plays wildly different than Fallout 3 which plays wildly different than Dragon Age: Origins which plays wildly different than let's say Jade Empire which plays willy different than Neverwinter Nights which plays different than Borderlands which plays different than...

Do I need to go on? There isn't really such a thing as a "typical" Western RPG experience these days. Western RPGs continue to be more innovative and creative than JRPGs.

Seriously, if a typical western rpg plays like any Bioware game than I'll continue to be day 1 purchases for me.

I think he/she/it's trying to be ironic by parodying an all-too-popular ideal among the video game community.

That or an ass. One of the too.
